[Discover] [Bug 478334] New: KDE(?) crashes on first boot after fresh reinstall

2023-12-09 Thread Mikael B
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478334

Bug ID: 478334
Summary: KDE(?) crashes on first boot after fresh reinstall
Classification: Applications
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.27.9
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mikae...@yahoo.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: DiscoverNotifier (5.27.9)

Qt Version: 5.15.11
Frameworks Version: 5.111.0
Operating System: Linux 6.2.9-300.fc38.x86_64 x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Fedora Linux 39 (KDE Plasma)
DrKonqi: 5.27.9 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
Fresh install of Fedora38's KDE system. On starting the DE (Plasma X11), I get
a discover notifier about a crash, and nothing KDE-related appears to start (no
panel, no background. The only exception is this crash handler, and the
"welcome to KDE Plasma" dialog.).
I cannot figure out how to start any applications (RMB does nothing, ALT+F1
does nothing, ALT+F2 gets the "search" dropdown (KRunner?), but any keyboard
press causes it to disappear again. TTY works, and that way I ran a
system-upgrade to Fedora 39. It behaves identically.
I also tried Plasma Wayland (after login, I get a black screen with nothing but
a mouse pointer - for about one second. After that, it switches to what looks
like a non-graphical window for one second until the black screen with the
mouse pointer reappears. Repeat ad infinitum).
Fair to be said that this might be unrelated to KDE: I have the same problem
and symptoms in XFCE (but not in LXDE). I have yet to install and try Gnome.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[frameworks-ktexteditor] [Bug 370574] Fonts & Colors Error

2017-02-01 Thread Mikael B
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370574

Mikael B changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||mikae...@yahoo.com

A workaround that I've found was to remove the two files
~/.kde/share/config/kateschemarc
~/.config/kateschemarc

Perhaps your kateschemarc is located elsewhere, such as under ~/.kde4
Search for it (them)!
and replace it (them both) by copying the default kateschemarc that should be
located in /usr/share/config

I found the solution at
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/209623/how-to-reset-kate-default-color-schemes

[kontact] [Bug 376170] New: wrong dates displayed in task list/todo list

2017-02-07 Thread Mikael B
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376170

Bug ID: 376170
Summary: wrong dates displayed in task list/todo list
   Product: kontact
   Version: 5.3.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: todo
  Assignee: korganizer-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: mikae...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 103896
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103896&action=edit
screenshot of the list view and edit view for the same task.

Repeating to do list items shows different "start date" and "due date" in task
list, from edit mode.

Potentially relevant output from the terminal used to start the program:

log_incidenceeditor: free slot calculation: invalid range. range( 0 ) /
mSlotResolutionSeconds( 900 ) = 0
log_calendarview: got bizare parameters: QDate("2016-12-01")
QDate("2017-03-31") - aborting here

I can find no rhyme nor reason for the relationship between the parent tasks'
due and start dates in edit mode, versus the start and due dates in the list
mode (see screeshot). However, subtasks seem to be consistent that the list's
start date is the edit mode's due date.

All the tasks that I have tried with are recurring with a period of one year.

   Product: ark
   Version: 2.19
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kdemail.net
  Reporter: mikae...@yahoo.com
CC: rak...@freebsd.org

Application: ark (2.19)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.14 (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 4.2.8-200.fc22.x86_64 x86_64

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Started compressing a file from dolphin (I don't remember if it was bzip or
zip), and hit 'cancel' during the process.
The result was a popup declaring that so-and-so had crashed.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

-- Backtrace:
