[plasmashell] [Bug 482771] New: Application launcher (kickoff) search menu hides a search result.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482771 Bug ID: 482771 Summary: Application launcher (kickoff) search menu hides a search result. Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: gabriele.gi...@gmail.com CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Flags: Wayland? SUMMARY *** Using plasma 6 application launcher search box it overlaps it's search result when you try to search for anything. That searched hidden result is clickable. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set Application menu to application launcher in "show alternatives" 2. Search for anything 3. Drag mouse just a bit above the search box. You will see there's something hidden beneath it. OBSERVED RESULT I see some kind of strange box when I hover the mouse just a bit above the search box. Depending on what I search the name is hidden almost entirely from the search. Image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-_vKH8eGIW16pnN8SO04_5SSV1368ovQ/view?usp=sharing EXPECTED RESULT The search result list is above the search box. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Here's the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yhkNlHFirS9Mq0VXVk7dkjAaLV2hB7eX/view?usp=sharing -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 482775] New: Application Launcher (kickoff) while searching filters strangely
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482775 Bug ID: 482775 Summary: Application Launcher (kickoff) while searching filters strangely Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: gabriele.gi...@gmail.com CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, noaha...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 166633 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166633&action=edit This video shows an example of the bug. SUMMARY Whenever you try to find long named files on kickoff, it kinda like "twitches" while typing. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Save a lot of files with similar but different names preferably longer for better result. 2. Use application Launcher (kickoff). 3. Use search to search for something that has a long name (deleting already typed search result bit by bit also causes this issue). OBSERVED RESULT Occasionally the search re-filters everything while typing and it does not give a specific result when you type in more text. EXPECTED RESULT The more specific the search is, the more narrow search results become. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 482775] Application Menu (kicker) while searching filters/sorts results strangely
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482775 --- Comment #2 from Lagetta --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Do you see the same issue if you search using the default Kickorr widget, or > with KRunner (invoked using Alt+Space)? Or is it only here in Kicker? using Alt+Space (KRunner) and searching the same thing (just like in video) it does the same thing. I don't know if it is significant but it seems to act strange when writing first three letters after spacebar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 483005] New: Application menu (Kicker) using with touchscreen is broken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483005 Bug ID: 483005 Summary: Application menu (Kicker) using with touchscreen is broken Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Application Menu (Kicker) Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: gabriele.gi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When I use laptop's touchscreen on Application menu it feels sluggish, barely responsive on what I tap and unusable. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Application Menu (doesn't matter if it is with a mouse or touchscreen (it works both ways flawlessly). 2. Try selecting any of the categories like Office, Games or System. The more you tap on the categories, the better chance it is to fail. 2.1. Try to press and hold for example Utilities category and drag it slowly to Development (from highest to lowest category). OBSERVED RESULT Touchscreen overall works but the categories occasionally do not want to be selected when I tap on them or when I tap & hold and slowly drag my finger around, it starts to flash like crazy. I provided in attachment how it looks in my end. EXPECTED RESULT Whatever category I tap on it should instantaneously open all the applications on that category on the menu. When I tap & hold it should automatically open that particular category that my finger is on just like with a mouse cursor. After a few tests only once was I able to achieve the expected result when I am moving my finger around. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PC: Dell Inspiron 7386. It has touchscreen functionality. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 483005] Application menu (Kicker) using with touchscreen is broken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483005 --- Comment #3 from Lagetta --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2) > Can reproduce. Note that this widget was never designed to be > touch-friendly; Kickoff is strongly preferred if you have that use case. > > That said, it's a legitimate bug and I'll see what I can do to fix it. But > I'm just trying to set expectations that a first-class touch experience is > not a design goal for Kicker. It's alright if it's too hard or even Impossible. I didn't even expect that this bug will even be fixed since it doesn't break usage of DE at all. At least it's nice that it's acknowledged. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
