Bug ID: 479770
   Summary: Autostart doesn't allow to add, and when adding
manually a file in autostart, the message is not
visible when trying to run.
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.92.0
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

Screenshot of the window after adding an autostart script manually

SUMMARY

Looking at autostart, I cannot add/remove in there.
When I add a .desktop script in ~/.config/autostart, it appears immediately,
but when I click on it there is a message that is not visible (we just see the
bottom of it, see attachment).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open autostart settings
2. Add a desktop file to ~/.config/autostart
3. Click on the new entry that appears

OBSERVED RESULT

The "Add button" does nothing
The bottom of a message displayed when clicking on an entry added manually with
a file is shown.

EXPECTED RESULT

- The Add button should do something or be greyed out and an explanation given
on why it isn't activated.
- If a message has to be displayed it needs to be entirely visible.

I tried to resized and things in the window but could never get to see the
text.

I have noticed that I cannot add shortcuts either. There is a add button in the
shortcuts settings, but it does nothing.
I can add shortcuts in each of the individual modules, but this add button does
nothing. (not sure if it is related)

[gwenview] [Bug 495732] New: Gwenview mime types when copying images are not the most convenient?

2024-11-02 Thread Jonathan Bisson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=495732

Bug ID: 495732
   Summary: Gwenview mime types when copying images are not the
most convenient?
Classification: Applications
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 24.08.2
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bjonnh-...@bjonnh.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Gwenview seems to be the only application on my system where copying an image
doesn't put an image type as the first clipboard mime type.

Using `wl-paste -l`

wl-paste -l
Says that Gwenview offers:
```
application/x-qt-image
application/x-kde-suggestedfilename
text/uri-list
application/x-kde-cutselection
image/png
image/bmp
image/cur
image/icns
image/ico
image/jfif
image/jp2
image/jpeg
image/jpg
image/pbm
image/pgm
image/ppm
image/tif
image/tiff
image/wbmp
image/webp
image/xbm
image/xpm
```

When doing a screenshot with spectacle:
```
image/png
application/x-qt-image
x-kde-force-image-copy
application/x-kde-suggestedfilename
image/bmp
image/cur
image/icns
image/ico
image/jfif
image/jp2
image/jpeg
image/jpg
image/pbm
image/pgm
image/ppm
image/tif
image/tiff
image/wbmp
image/webp
image/xbm
image/xpm
```

One use case is when I try to paste images from gwenview in Electron apps (like
Obsidian) it doesn't work with the default paste. This is the only application
for which it happens. Spectacle, Firefox, Gimp, all have an image type as the
first mime type.

So my proposition is to provide the current file exact mime-type as the first
option and then all the rest (because I imagine some applications may prefer a
path?)

A SVG logo inspired from the actual png one

I made an attempt at recreating the actual logo as svg (inkscape format, I can
make a reduced svg if needed, it may be slightly smaller), feel free to use the
same license as the actual logo or whatever the KDE rules are regarding logos.

Same on Archlinux with revision 26e3d09 built with Release flags.

Trying to get a working revision to do a git bisect, will have to work more on
that but
06925ea is not working either so I'll have to test older ones.

Seems to start, fails opening .bib files (error about missing part) and it
takes 10-15s to be usable after the main window appears. Don't think it is
related though.

2016-08-02 Thread Jonathan Bisson via KDE Bugzilla

Kbibtex seems to hang after:
kbibtex.program: Located KPart service: "kbibtexpart" with description "KParts
component to view and edit bibliographic files"

Then trying to open a file (bibtex format):
kbibtex.program: Could not instantiate part for service "BibTeX Viewer and
Editor" (mimeType= "text/x-bibtex" , error msg= "The shared library was not
found." )

Reproducible: Always

Hi Thomas,

CC-BY seems good to me.

I was thinking of having a book and a pile of papers to reflect more on the
"articles" side of things.

Doesn't work either. When I do strace, it seems to look for all kind of icons,
and after doing that it starts working, but it take several seconds…

Tried to change the icon theme, but it didn't change anything.
