[krita] [Bug 430406] New: Brushes and tags swap around

2020-12-14 Thread Erica
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430406

Bug ID: 430406
Summary: Brushes and tags swap around
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.4.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tagging
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ericae...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When going into the brush tags there will be a few default ones, as well as
ones added by brush packs. The one or 2 tags I have made myself also has this
issue. I tried to delete all tags besides "all", sometimes trying to delete the
default favorites and sometimes not, and after a restart all tags come back.
Sometimes a few tags seem deleted but will come back multiple restarts later. I
tried clearing backup folders and I've tried clearing the deleted tags thing
(whos menu only pops up one out of every handful of tag deletions) that makes
it easier to undo if you messed up. Additionally many of the default tags are
empty or what brushes are in them will swap out at random.

In summary which tags I have, which tags get deleted, and which brushes have
which tags appears to be random with each restart.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open new canvas (any)
2. delete a brush tag or add a tag to a brush
3. restart krita

OBSERVED RESULT

brushes and their tags are essentially random after a restart

EXPECTED RESULT

brush tags would remember changes made.

Debug view showing the win tab was not found by krita

Using a wacom bamboo fun tablet, pen pressure works in paint tool sai but does
no appear to function in krita. Have tried several fixes to see if I can solve
the issue myself, but have had no luck with it. Resorted to trying to debug
view and noticed the program could not initialize win tab as shown in the
screenshot attatched (I tried logging to a file but the file was always blank).

Would love to be able to use this program, so I hope there is an easy fix.

Yes I did restart the system after changing the API, still no change there.

I am using Windows 10 and it appears I have no wintab file in the system32
folder but there is one in the sysWOW64 folder.

Have you restarted Krita before trying after switching to the Pointer API?

Example of tablet jitter/lag

I use a 4000 LPI monoprice tablet and experience significant pressure lag when
using krita. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both my drivers and krita
several times. I have used older versions of krita to see if that helped but I
still get a problem where it doesn't register the correct pen pressure. It
seems to work briefly when I have my tablet application over the program and
draw onto the canvas but that leads to clicking on Krita and resulting in the
input lag/jitter I'm not quite sure what to call it. I've determined it is not
my tablet as it is very new and I haven't used it much yet and it works fine
with other programs. Just not krita. I've provided an attachment of the problem
which makes it basically impossible to use. I am using a basic round brush
preset and have not fiddled with any of the buttons or curves.

I had the same issue. Libical was 3.0.15. Problem started after updating KDE
to 22.08.2, also on Arch. A fresh Arch install, however, has no problem. Only
one which already existed before the KDE update. I never found a solution in
the two days since I updated, and unfortunately because the update also broke
my monitor setup (also working fine in a fresh install) and I use kalarms for
very important medications I've had to give up and just start using the fresh
install as my daily driver.

Let me note, regarding specifics to Arch Linux, I use only the stable repos and
haven't had to reinstall my Arch/KDE setup in over six or seven year until now.
I am not one of those typical "Arch update broke my system" users.

SUMMARY
I am trying to sort a folder in dolphin by file size, with "folders first"
deselected, similar to how filelight would sort the files and folders.
However, no matter what settings I use (including checking the button for
"folder size displays" "size of contents") the folders remain first even when
their filesize is smaller than that of individual files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. sort folder by file size, descending
2. uncheck "folders first"

OBSERVED RESULT
small folders remain before large files

Having such button available for audio streams could be useful as a shortcut to
effectively mute/unmute or even disconnect/reconnect to the stream, as actual
pause/play functionality makes little sense in this case. Another alternative
would be having the button disabled in the first place.

[Phonon] [Bug 354361] No devices listed in Audio and Video KCM
