OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

I am using kile from the source rpm file from
http://compsci.cas.vanderbilt.edu/Fedora/local/
and i is great. Randomly the window becomes too large (I think after several
back and forward searches without live preview) and it cannot be resized
horizontally (it is possible vertically). Closing and opening, the window
recovers the right size.

[plasmashell] [Bug 436318] Save session doesn't work under Wayland

2024-06-06 Thread Cruz Enrique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436318

Could be related, could be not but I am "loosing" configurations set in system
settings since a couple of versions. Not sure when this starts to happen but
sure after the release of the first "stable" version. For example, I am lousing
manual file association that I have configured, the landing page of system
settings is no longer showing me the last used configurations pages and the
restored session is not working. These are the ones I have noticed. But the
theme is correctly saved and restored, for example. Could be that these configs
are stored in places that gentoo eats or has set the wrong permissions? Any log
file I could check for this kind of errors?

The key point is that I have recently switched to wayland. The FIRST log in,
these things were working (so I have correct file associations, a correct
restored session and the used last used config pages) but as soon as I reboot /
log off (not sure what was the action), I lost all of them. In any case, the
problem with file association and landing page of system settings is also
happening on xorg (but not the restored session, that is working fine on xorg).

Should I file a different bug report or do you think it could be the same
problem? Should I fill this in gentoo bugtracker or here?

2021-10-24 Thread Enrique Artal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444319

Sorry for not being clear. I try to make the point:
-For Firefox the DNIe works for identification in some cases (some pages yes
some pages not).
-For autofirma, either directly or via firefox or Chrome: it asks for the
password but it says that the keyring is locked
-For Chrome, it does not work.

Thanks for all, because anyway it is quite practical to sign using okular with
other certificates.
Best, Enrique.

You are right, it is a mess, but it seems that both autofirma and okular have

In version 23.08.0 there are some nice improvements about digital signature,
but the size of the fonts is still very big and non adjustable. Any hope?

I understand it; this problem was reported almost two years ago and there are
several people that have confirmed it. Any of the attached images by several
users show the issue.

> What could help this would be a thorough proposal about

Apparently when one chooses a frame the size of the fonts does not depend on
the size of the frame. As a consequence one has two big letters, not aligned,
and even some part of the name. In some documents one can put a large frame to
avoid it (though the result is not aestethically optimal) but some other
documents have very few space for the frame

> - What should be adjustable?
One option is that the size of the font is chosen in terms of the size of the
frame. The other option is to open a dialog for this choice (as it is now for a
background image). I do not know if it is possible to implement it.
> - In what dialogs should the adjustability be? How should it look like?
For the first choice, it would be internal. For the second one, add one more
line in the frame asking you for certificate, location, image, etc.
> Can you visualize it somehow?
> - What should the work flow be for doing this?

I do not know if I can be more helpful, but I would be glad to test any
progress.

I have created a auto start scrip [1] to modify my keyboard distribution
(laptop keyboard without menu key, in fact is a KDE slimbook with Neon). At
startup, it works fine but after any suspend event, the configuration is lost.
I am using X11 and have not tested with wayland (not sure if the script works
anymore in wayland, although). The bug seems to exists from some time [2] and
happens to more people than me.

(In reply to Nicolas Fella from comment #1)
> What do you mean with "configuration is lost"?

The effect of the script is lost. I mean, "somewhere" , "something" is re
running the configuration of xmodmap when I think it should not be done. I
assume that other configurations (probably, related to screens) are also
executed (and this is why we have a lot of screen flicker when we restart from
suspend). Could this be a side effect of kscreen trying to hard to reconfigure
the xserver?

> Autostart scripts are run at *Start*, they are not supposed to run on wakeup

Yes, this is a good point. In that case, I am not sure if this is a bug or a
new feature to be added

Bug ID: 423039
Summary: all version of plasma after 5.18.5 broke keyboard

   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_keyboard_layout
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: cruzki...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After the update to plasma 5.18.5 I have a completely messed up keyboard
layout. A new profile temporally solve the problem but as soon as it is saved
(by saved any change in system setting) or login out completely, the keyboard
layout is again messed . I have tried with several one of them (US, ES) variant
(international, traditional), keyboard models, etc. an in all case the keyboard
is messed. Using and external keyboard without the numlock buton the keys in
the num pad are correctly mapped.

I have tried with the laptop keyboard and with an external one and seems to be
the same. If I crt + alt + f1 and open a console, the buttons are correctly
mapped. In SDDM is also correctly mapped.

When I said messed I mean that letters and f keys continue to be in its
position but every other button is mapped elsewhere (up is now print, left is
alt gr, right, page up, ends, ins seems to not be mapped at all, page down to /
, start to pause, screen capture to delete, alt gr to number pad enter, control
to next)

Writing with this setup is quite complicated and now I cannot go back to any
version that does not have the bug.

Thanks in advance

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install any version above 5.18.5
2. change any settings in the keyboard tab
3. save

OBSERVED RESULT

EXPECTED RESULT
leave the keyboard layout from the system

Now that I think about it, I think I can nail a bit more when it happens.

It only happens when the attached screen is configured to NOT be the primary
screen and IS bigger that the primary one. In my case, when you plug the FullHD
TV to my laptop. Nevertheless, the bug does not shows when I plug my work
screen (that is configures as a primary) or when I plug a beamer (that are
typlically smaller in resolution than the laptop screen).

[okular] [Bug 381765] New: Permanent latex formulas in annotations

2017-06-28 Thread Enrique Artal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381765

Bug ID: 381765
Summary: Permanent latex formulas in annotations
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ar...@unizar.es
  Target Milestone: ---

I am using in Fedora 25 okular-17.04.2 (compiled from srpm). Annotation is much
better, in particular the possibility of resizing the inline notes. One can add
LaTeX formulas which can be typeset in the edit window but they do not appear
in the frame. It would be great, specially when sharing annotated pdf's with
people not using okular. Thanks for the great work!

[kile] [Bug 373301] Problems in user menu

2017-01-07 Thread Enrique Artal

>
> The usermenu of my version of Kile (current snapshot from github, KF5 5.29)
> works well.

I have also the current snapshot with the same KF5. What happens exactly is the
following. I have several user menu items; one of them works as follows, I
select some text and the effect is to put this text inside curly brackets. In
the window of the user menu I wrote {%M%C}; in order to work correctly I have
to select the parameter "Replace selected text"; if not the action is to put
the brackets and repeat the text.
The problem is that if I edit this menu the parameter box is never checked, I
have to mark it again. If I do not save, the current parameters are kept, but
if I do save, then it disappears. It is not grave, only annoying.

I am using Fedora 25, fully updated, using also the kde-redhat repository and
my version of kile comes from http://compsci.cas.vanderbilt.edu/Fedora/local/;
the owner updates kile quite often and I use the src.rpm file to compile it.

The user menu works correctly; I attach the user menu edit window I get. The
checkboxes are not checked but I do not save it it works as expected.

Thanks for your interest

Thanks, maybe it is my english to blame! :)
true

unchecked and if I may any changes I need to do not forget to recheck. Not a

Another update. After creating submenus, I can check "Replace Selected Text"
only if "Needs Selected Text" is checked. Without submenus, it is possible.

That's the point. I guess I have to wait. It is still on 24.8.0, and it takes a
while to be upgraded. I can try to upgrade by myself in a test environment,
since poppler affects many other packages. Thanks for the tip.
