[plasmashell] [Bug 465540] New: Power Profile Slider Not Updating
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465540 Bug ID: 465540 Summary: Power Profile Slider Not Updating Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.26.90 Platform: Debian testing OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Battery Monitor Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: conorley...@gmail.com CC: k...@privat.broulik.de, m...@ratijas.tk Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 156125 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=156125&action=edit Power Profile Changes The slider for power profiles does successfully change the profile but it then snaps back to its original position, visually indicating an unsuccessful change (see attached video). I see that in a comment to the original commit Nate Graham had a similar issue. https://invent.kde.org/plasma/powerdevil/-/merge_requests/49?commit_id=374c64829f9f51fd4ddac87a18bea9acc43735c1 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 12 (testing) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.9 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.102.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[KScreen] [Bug 465424] Blank Screen on Attaching External Monitor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465424 --- Comment #4 from Conor --- I think it's an issue with kwin as kwn_x11 maxes out cpu and killing it fixes it (Until the cable is removed & reinserted without the proprietary driver or until reboot with the Nvidia driver). The above bug is only about the screen being turned off in settings whereas my screen is turned on and kwin crashes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 465424] Attaching external monitor turns both screens black and kwin_x11 hogs CPU until manually restarted
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465424 --- Comment #6 from Conor --- Regarding Wayland, when I attached the monitor there was no indication it was attached. Nothing in the GUI and I don't remember what commands I ran but nothing showed any indication of an external monitor. I have tried with Gnome wayland and it worked fine. The issue is present with compositing disabled. I got the following output from perf record: >[ perf record: Woken up 5595 times to write data \] >Warning: >Processed 114541 events and lost 12 chunks! > >Check IO/CPU overload! > >Warning: >9354 out of order events recorded. \ >[ perf record: Captured and wrote 784.348 MB perf.data (97303 samples) \] The .perfparser file saved from hotspot is 24MB. This is with Debian 12 (testing) on a Lenovo P1 with Intel/ Nvidia graphics (nouveau driver). I believe the HDMI ports are hard-wired to the discrete GPU. I installed the Nvidia driver and updated to version 5.26.90. The behaviour is similar, except it will function properly until after a reboot. [plasmashell] [Bug 399298] Switching between activities causes Plasma to freeze momentarily
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399298 --- Comment #5 from Conor K --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #4) > First things first, lets define what "plasma hangs" means. > > When it's hanging: > > Can you move the mouse? > Can you move windows? > Can you right click on the desktop and get a menu? Yes, yes, and no (at least not right away). I can interact with other applications like yakuake and my browser just fine, as well as switch virtual desktops via keybinds with Kwin, but not when using the desktop pager in the panel. Disabling file indexing as a user in the KDE IRC channel suggested seems to mitigate the issue, so perhaps I've chosen the wrong component to attach this to? However that said I only noticed this occurring when switching activities, so I'll defer to your judgement on that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
