[plasmashell] [Bug 494447] New: Clicking on grouped tasks in Icon-Only Task Manager on replicated monitor only shows on one display
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494447 Bug ID: 494447 Summary: Clicking on grouped tasks in Icon-Only Task Manager on replicated monitor only shows on one display Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.1.5 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: mydj...@gmail.com CC: qydwhotm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When multiple tasks are on my replicated display that happens to be replicated by another, clicking on the grouped task shows no windows all but one of the replicated displays, including the 'source' display. It seems that the display index dictates which display the window previews are displayed on. Disabling the replication allows the task manager to function normally again. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Icon-Only Task Manager on primary monitor 2. Setup a secondary (or even tertiary) monitor that are replications of the primary 3. Open multiple windows of the same application 4. Click on grouped task in task manager OBSERVED RESULT Window previews are shown on just one display EXPECTED RESULT Window previews are shown on all displays SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: kernel 6.11.2 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Using Nvidia on Wayland, may be a factor but I'm not 100% sure of it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 499420] New: Plasma switches to software rendering backend after waking from screen lock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499420 Bug ID: 499420 Summary: Plasma switches to software rendering backend after waking from screen lock Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.2.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Screen locking Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: mydj...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY After the timeout period where displays go into power saving mode after the computer is locked, waking from this state will often have plasmashell be in the software rendering mode, and also will have set the backend to software in kdeglobals. It may be related to my monitor having a deep power saving mode, where it will disconnect after an unspecified time, however I can't seem to replicate it consistently. I am also using an Nvidia 3070 Ti with official drivers. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have screens go into power saving mode 2. Wake computer 3. Observe Software Rendering notification in system tray 4. Observe scene backend in kdeglobals set to software OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

If so, does the issue also > occur if only one monitor is attached? > > And does the issue occur if only the monitors power down, or does it happen > when the overall device also enters a sleep state? > > Thanks! [valgrind] [Bug 423929] New: shmat() fails in x86 32-bit mode on valgrind 3.16.0 & 3.16.1
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423929 Bug ID: 423929 Summary: shmat() fails in x86 32-bit mode on valgrind 3.16.0 & 3.16.1 Product: valgrind Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: gand...@winds.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 129936 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=129936&action=edit Workaround patch shmat() appears to send the wrong syscall arguments for shmctl() during ML_(generic_PRE_sys_shmat) in get_shm_size() (file coregrind/m_syswrap/syswrap-generic.c) when run in x86 32-bit mode. This fails on both a 32-bit or 64-bit kernel. The attached patch allows for a workaround for this specific issue (but not tested in other environments or systems; this is only intended to pinpoint the problem). The workaround is to remove the VKI_IPC_64 (IPC_64) flag in the sysctl() syscall. This issue was observed when compiling 32-bit valgrind, versions 3.16.0 or 3.16.1, on both RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 and Gentoo (latest version). valgrind 3.15.0 works OK.
