[dolphin] [Bug 491507] New: 'Back' and 'Forward' mouse buttons make Dolphin open the item when an item is hovered when using "Selects Item" on "Clicking files or folders" option.

It is also reproducible on KDE XDG-DESKTOP-PORTAL dolphin window. Similar bug found: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310288 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Go into subfolders 3. [plasmashell] [Bug 507709] New: [Feature Request] Option to Use a Slim Bar Design for the "Show Desktop" Widget
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507709 Bug ID: 507709 Summary: [Feature Request] Option to Use a Slim Bar Design for the "Show Desktop" Widget Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version First master Reported In: Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: Show Desktop/Minimize All widgets Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: brandowlu...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Currently, the "Show Desktop" widget in KDE appears as a small square button by default. While functional, the square design can feel visually disconnected from the overall panel aesthetic and is often considered less elegant. Many users familiar with Windows are accustomed to a subtle bar-style button, which blends seamlessly into the panel while remaining easy to access. Proposal: Introduce an alternative default style for the "Show Desktop" widget: a slim vertical bar that integrates naturally with the panel edge. Provide a settings option to switch between the current square design and the new bar design, so users can choose according to preference. Consider making the bar design the default for new installations, as it offers a cleaner and more modern appearance. Benefits: Improves visual consistency with the panel and reduces the “boxy” feel of the square button. Enhances appeal for new users coming from Windows, where a slim bar is the familiar standard. Offers a modernized aesthetic that aligns with KDE’s reputation for flexibility and elegance. Preserves user choice by keeping the current square option available. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 507707] New: [Feature Request] Add Ctrl+Y as Default Shortcut for "Redo" (Alongside Ctrl+Shift+Z) on plasma
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507707 Bug ID: 507707 Summary: [Feature Request] Add Ctrl+Y as Default Shortcut for "Redo" (Alongside Ctrl+Shift+Z) on plasma Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version First master Reported In: Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: brandowlu...@gmail.com CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Currently, KDE assigns Ctrl+Shift+Z as the default shortcut for the Redo action. While functional, this differs from the widely recognized standard Ctrl+Y used on Windows. This inconsistency can be confusing and counterintuitive for new KDE users coming from other platforms. Proposal: Assign Ctrl+Y as an additional default shortcut for Redo, alongside Ctrl+Shift+Z. Keep Ctrl+Shift+Z for consistency with Linux/Unix conventions, but provide Ctrl+Y out-of-the-box for familiarity. Reasoning: Ctrl+Y is the standard redo shortcut on Windows, and many applications (including cross‑platform ones) use it by default. Providing both shortcuts avoids confusion for users switching to KDE from Windows, improving usability and user experience without removing the current binding -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
