[dolphin] [Bug 475383] New: Ability to customize "places" panel with our own categories
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475383 Bug ID: 475383 Summary: Ability to customize "places" panel with our own categories Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 23.08.1 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: diske...@dailitation.xyz CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 162170 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=162170&action=edit A picture of "Dolphin" file manager application mock-up with a customized "places" panel, which looks like shortcuts to your directories; folder. You were not able to customize the panels currently. SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** The panels on the left side of Dolphin is "okay" but it could be better. I want the ability to be able to customize the "places" panel by being able to add new categories. What I mean by this is the "Places" panel currently only have "Places", "Remote", "Recent" and "Devices" categories. I would like my ability to be able to add more, like for example, "Development" or "Works". And the ability to be able to hide the categories by just simply clicking on the title of it. I've attached a mock-up in the attachment. Or here is an alternative link to my own file host if you are not able to open the attachment. https://storage.dailitation.xyz/dolphinpanel.png STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Look on the left panel; "Places" panel if you moved them. OBSERVED RESULT You are not able to customize the "Places" panel by adding more categories. EXPECTED RESULT You are able to add, rename, edit categories. And when clicked on a category, it will be hidden.
