Trying to open the skype tray context menu

SUMMARY
Clicking on the tray icon does not open the skype window. Right clicking on the
tray. This only happens on wayland. Does not happen on X11 session.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run skype for linux in plasma wayland session
2. Try to interact with the try icon

OBSERVED RESULT
Skype context menu does not appear. Context menus for other icons appear
instead of the skype context menu.

EXPECTED RESULT
Skype context menu appears on right click.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Gentoo Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When clicking on the skype tray icon a "Remote control requested" dialog
appears, requesting access for "input devices". I allowed it.

[kwin] [Bug 489383] Skype for linux tray icon does not work on wayland

2024-10-14 Thread APTX
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=489383

I'm happy to report that this is fixed in 6.2. Clicking on the tray icon works
as it did on X11.

I don't really know what change fixed it. The package manager claims skype has
not been updated since I reported the issue.

[kwin] [Bug 506493] New: Fullscreen games move between monitors

2025-07-02 Thread APTX
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=506493

Bug ID: 506493
Summary: Fullscreen games move between monitors
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
  Version First 6.4.1
   Reported In:
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: multi-screen
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: marek...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Sometimes fullscreen steam games like Timberborn will move from the display
they were opened (also configured the be "primary") on to another display.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run a steam game in fullscreen, example: Timberborn
2. I am not sure what exactly causes it, but this is my best guess: Idle (until
the screens turns off)

OBSERVED RESULT
The game moves to another display.

EXPECTED RESULT
The game stays on the display it was opened on.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Gentoo Linux 2.17
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.31-gentoo-x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 32 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900K
Memory: 128 GiB of RAM (125.4 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA RTX A4000

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is possible to move the game back to the original display by disabling the
other display in "Display Configuration". Annoyingly, the fullscreen game will
move to the other display if it is enabled again.

The game keeps running after moving back and forth.
