I tried live KDE Debian a few days ago, just to check if this issue is still
present it is. I tried it without external monitor FYI. It so unpleasant that
this issue makes KDE so frustrating to use. I tried Cinnamon, Gnome, but they
aren't even closely pleasant as KDE, so I am back to Windows, waiting for
better days with KDE :)

On my setup, whether this issue occurs appears to be linked to the kernel
version. I have been able to consistently reproduce it on 6.14.1 and 6.15-rc1,
but for me, it does not happen on 6.13.8 as some users reported, or 6.12-lts. I

In that case there are two options:
- Electron is busted
- Our desktop portal somehow has a bug that only gets triggered by Electron

To rule out user customization, can you try to reproduce the issue in a new
clean user account with no changes to any default settings?

Any information to reproduce this issue from a clean slate would be very
helpful — as I'm sure you understand, it's difficult with different hardware.

In particular, the display mirroring steps you take might be important.

Looks to be fixed with 1.12.2. Upgrade from 1.12.1 and clean install tested.
This type of issue can sometimes come up during upgrades from older versions as
the underlying frameworks have been updated. Uninstalling and reinstall KDiff3
will not destroy the settings file but should clear any residual from an old
version causing a conflict. For the record was this an upgrade or first time
install?

Thank you! It works now.

A simple uninstall, fresh install didn't work, but I noticed files were still
left behind in C:\Program Files\KDiff3. Trying to delete the folder failed
because some of the files were still in use.

This is what I did:

1. Uninstall KDiff3
2. Restart the Windows Explorer process:
  2.a. Start -> Task Manager
2.b. Select the "Windows Explorer" process
  3.c. Right click -> Restart
3. Delete C:\Program Files\KDiff3 folder (now it succeeds).
4. Install KDiff3 (new version)

Assuming you've got the KDE desktop portal support properly in use (we'll test
that later), can you test some other non-electron Flatpak apps? If the same
thing happens there, it's possible there's an issue with our portal support.

If it works on those apps, then it's much more likely to be a bug in Electron.

systemclipboard: use QFile to write data to file descriptor

Someone in the bugreport says CopyQ is better than Plasma's
clipboard manager. I checked the difference and CopyQ uses
QFile to write data to a file descriptor. QFile will check if
all bytes are written, and when not all bytes are written and
there is no error, QFile will continue writing to the file descriptor.

Has it *ever* happened again as originally described? If you engineer a

Thanks for the screen recording. Two questions:

1. Can you run `systemsettings` in a terminal window, reproduce the problem,
and copy and paste any text printed to the terminal window when you press the X
button and nothing happens

2. Does it work if wifi is turned on at the time you try to remove the second
network?

well, i think we can close this issue regarding plasma: it's definitely an

at least some relief ... the problem with postman was only a coincidence then?

mentions “Consider it a reminder for everyone still on X11 to try the Wayland
session again, because the X11 session receives almost no testing from

The main reason I’m still on X11 is because I use
https://github.com/ActivityWatch/activitywatch for quantified self tracking.
Afaiu, KWin on wayland needs support for
https://wayland.app/protocols/wlr-foreign-toplevel-management-unstable-v1 for
this to work as seamlessly.

Any chance KWin will consider implementing support for this protocol?

I'm not sure, not that many - in the hundreds at most in a single directory -
but I had a couple of tabs open in a single window, with my internal data
partitions and external drives, as I was reorganizing my archives, moving some
files around, deleting some, and it probably happened when I clicked on folder
properties to check its size.

It probably didn't crash, just closed unexpectedly, because coredumpctl doesn't
show anything dolphin related. Only a single window closed, others did not.

Mapping Microsoft Copilot key to Control key

The copilot key on Windows laptops has replaced the right control key on most
laptops as of 2025.
However, the right control key still has its uses, especially in applications
such as Virtualbox.
It would be nice to have the possibility of remapping the copilot key as the
right control key using
the keybindings settings.
There are already quite a few remappings available for under the `Ctrl
position` dropdown in the keybindings
section.

I don't think anything is really broken here, it's just how the colors work.
It's just way more visible with the colorschemes that have different color
titlebar.

When debugging the outline color, this is how it works:

We take window frame color, then the text color. Then we mix those two together
with the bias value, which is the "Low, medium, high, maximum" setting.

Low bias is 0.10.
Medium bias is 0.20.

With Breeze Classic, the calculation happens with these colors, when using Low
bias:
windowColor "#eff0f1", textColor "#232627", bias "0.10" -> outlineColor
"#dbdcdd"

With Breeze Light, this happens:
windowColor "#eff0f1", textColor "#232629", bias "0.10" -> outlineColor
"#dbdcdd"

They end up having exact same values. Only difference is the text color (which
is barely anything)

Same with Medium bias:

Breeze classic:
windowColor "#eff0f1", textColor "#232627", bias "0.20" -> outlineColor
"#c6c8c9"

Breeze light:
windowColor "#eff0f1", textColor "#232629", bias "0.20" -> outlineColor
"#c6c8c9"

Again same end result.

The bias indicates how much of the colors we mix. 0.2 means we use more of the
windowColor than the textColor for the outline. So on 0.1, its mostly white
color.

What is the color you expect to see? Calling it "intensity" might have been
wrong here, and maybe we should rework this to use different kind of blending
technique, which is more about contrast and less about blending window and text
color together.

I don't think so (even though it would look nicer on smaller window sizes) -
you'd still have the text height changing as it does the word wrap, and having
to do any word wrap seems to be what is causing the problem. If I increase the
horizontal size of the window (before opening the OverlaySheet) so that the
word wrap is no longer necessary, it works and allows scrolling right to the
end.

Good question. I would say yes, it's a valid bug.

However I would caution you not to expect a fix anytime soon. Integration with
3rd-party command-line X11-only tools is very low on the priority list. We have
other issues of KScreen disagreeing with xrandr too; see Bug 466149 and Bug
501242.

If I had to make a prediction, I would say that these bug reports will most
likely be closed as RESOLVED UNMAINTAINED when we remove support for the X11
session.

Color picker (Wayland)

SUMMARY
Color selected by colorpicker is slightly darker than actual color.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login to a Wayland session.
2. Use any color picking functianality (i.e. the widget) in a KDE app.
3. Compare to the actual color.

OBSERVED RESULT
Color got from the color picker is slightly darker than the color from the
screen (see attachment).

EXPECTED RESULT
Colors should be the same.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.9.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am absolutely shure that the issue is in KDE, not in kitty (see attachment)
because:
A. The problem disappears in X11 session (see attachment in my comment).
B. I noticed the problem when I edited my colorscheme's header color to match
kitty's background color by systemsettings' builtin colorpicker. When I took
the correct color from kitty's config, colors matched.

First guess is that the cursor's shadow affects the picked color, but I have no
idea how the color is actually got.

I made a new home folder and the problem disappeared.
I'm sorry for wasting your time.

If I may suggest, Plasma should have an easy way to reset all desktop

Underlined checkbox remains checked and the configured code is underlined
