[systemsettings] [Bug 500046] New: Touchpad fails to select multiple files if the user stop pressing it while on top of a file
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500046 Bug ID: 500046 Summary: Touchpad fails to select multiple files if the user stop pressing it while on top of a file Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: 6.3.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_touchpad Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: fernandommu...@gmail.com CC: duha.b...@gmail.com, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 178345 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=178345&action=edit Issue only happens when the cursor is over a file when the user stops pressing the touchpad. 1. Continuously press the touchpad, then hover the cursor over Desktop files. 2. Stop pressing while having the cursor over a file. Result: 80% of the time only the file that the cursor is over gets selected. This issue doesn't happen when the user stops pressing when the cursor is not over a file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

From this relative layman's > perspective, it seems those two should live sufficiently far away from each > other. It seems keeping these packages prevented updating kwin_wayland related stuff, because klassy and lightly add window decorations and therefore depend on it. This caused a crash in a system that manages both power management and display brightness on laptops, specifically because it was expecting a function in a wayland protocol that should have been updated but wasn't because the packages were skipable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Just a blinking console cursor was shown - no graphical elements. The system didn't react to any keyboard/mouse input. After several minutes, the desktop slowly appeared with a spinning notification of the akonadi_migration_agent. It does not seem to progress/finish even now after almost 20 min running. When I opened KOrganizer, I noticed that the calendar of my university's Microsoft 365 account was not fully synchronized. To resolve the issue, I tried clearing the synchronisation state (folder tree state and folder item state) via the advanced tab in the Microsoft Exchange Configuration dialog. After hitting OK, the crash was reported. I have faced the black screen behavior after SDDM login now several times when KDE Plasma were updated with pacman to a new release. The unresponsiveness and lack of any status message for more than a minute is irritating and triggers people to force a reboot. The ACPI signals generated by the power button seem to at least trigger a clean shutdown. However, I observed at several occasions, that even the shutdown got stuck. The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible. -- Backtrace (Reduced): #5 std::__atomic_base::fetch_add (this=0x0, __i=1, __m=std::memory_order::acq_rel) at /usr/include/qt6/QtCore/qbasicatomic.h:47 #6 QAtomicOps::ref (_q_value=) at /usr/include/qt6/QtCore/qatomic_cxx11.h:259 [...] #10 QArrayDataPointer::QArrayDataPointer (this=0x7fff6a15c390, other=..., this=, other=) at /usr/include/qt6/QtCore/qarraydatapointer.h:40 #11 0x629132f19b33 in QString::QString (this=0x7fff6a15c390, other=..., this=, other=) at /usr/include/qt6/QtCore/qstring.h:1261 #13 operator<< (debug=..., version=...) at /usr/src/debug/kdepim-runtime/kdepim-runtime-24.12.2/resources/ews/ewsclient/ewsserverversion.cpp:130 Reported using DrKonqi -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thanks so much Pavel, Discover told me nothing but 'dnf update' indeed told me kdecoration2 was not updated and that the package Lightly-qt had a broken dependency. I don't even recall installing that but I seem to have had it enabled. I removed Lightly, and the update blockage was cleared. My battery tray icon is back. I think the lesson here is that after an update, if things are buggy, run package managers in the CLI and see if they throw an error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 318530] HUB : Add a new option to only writes changed metadata to side-car files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318530 --- Comment #13 from Christoph Anton Mitterer --- Regarding comments 9 to 12. I think what you guys are talking about is a different issue and should thus be handled in another. My request was to have a option that makes sure that digikam would never write to an image file itself (i.e. neither changing exif, XMP or other meta-data *in* the image file, or doing things like transforming the image like lossless rotations in JPEG or so) but instead *only* write any meta-data updates to a sidecar file. The idea was, that the original image file should stay pristine as is, an any changes (like rotation information, tags, subsequently added geo information, etc. pp.) should go in a separate file. Cheers, Chris. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 343690] Missing windows tabbing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343690 Grósz Dániel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||groszdaniel...@gmail.com --- Comment #61 from Grósz Dániel --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #33) > We are not reviving this feature. The prevalence of CSDs makes this > impossible to do well. It could still work with SSD windows, just like some other features like customizable title bar buttons. AFAIUI KDE sticks to SSD for reasons including that it allows for customization and features beyond the lowest common denominator features supported generally by CSD windows. KDE applications use SSD, and most applications that use CSD by default (including Firefox, Chromium/Chrome, VS Codium/Code) can be configured to use CSD. GNOME apps are the only apps I've seen that can't be configured to use SSD. (In reply to Maximilian Böhm from comment #36) > Concept for tabbing mixed SSD and CSD windows: You initiate window merging > via shortcut or taskbar option, then select a second (and third…) window. > Plasma windows without CSD get regularly tabbed, CSD windows get an extra > title bar to be tabbed. The title bar disappears after dissolving the window > tabbing. (In reply to David from comment #41) > Kwin currently allows overriding these with standard titlebars and such. > Wouldn't it be a matter of just forcing this on windows that are tabbed? Unfortunately forcing a titlebar and frame on CSD windows is often ugly: CSD windows draw their own shadows, which KWin sees as part of the window, so there's a glitchy, semi-transparent frame between the KWin frame and the actual window. I just tried, this happens with Gnome Calculator, Nautilus/GNOME Files and Chromium, but not with GEdit and Firefox. (With the latter two, the titlebar can be re-enabled from the window menu, with the former ones that option is disabled, and it can only be forced via special window settings.) Though even with the former ones, KWin knows where the actual content is for the purposes of snapping, so in theory it could cut off/ignore the shadow when a titlebar and frame is forced on the window. But again, most apps can be configured inside the app to use SSD anyway, which works well, except for GNOME apps which there's rarely a reason to use under KDE anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Then focus is passed to the column. This doesn't work properly though, as the actual keyboard focus does not end up on the delegate yet, only after the user presses another arrow. If the user tries to activate the item highlighted after a single key press, the Return press falls back to the search field which always activates the first entry in the list. Instead, expose the actual highlighted list item, then focus it directly instead of focusing the column. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Kdenlive, create a new project and save it to somewhere (e.g. /tmp/tmp.kdenlive) 2. Use "Project → Subtitles → Add Subtitle" (or Shift+S) to add a clip of subtitle with IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE (U+3000) (e.g. "文 本") 3. Save the project and close Kdenlive 4. Restart Kdenlive and load the saved project OBSERVED RESULT The IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE (U+3000) is converted to a regular SPACE (U+0020) in the subtitle editor ("文 本"). On the other hand, if you open the generated subtitle file (/tmp/tmp.kdenlive.ass) with a text editor, you can find the IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE is correctly saved. Therefore, this is a bug related to loading, not saving. EXPECTED RESULT The IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE should be retained. SUMMARY When the Clear Clipboard History window pops up, the panel freezes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy any piece of content. 2. Click the Clipboard Contents tray that appears on the panel. 3. Click Clear Clipboard History icon. 4. [plasmashell] [Bug 499891] Speaker icon in Icons-Only Task bar can not be removed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499891 --- Comment #20 from electrotami...@gmail.com --- This is superfluous at best. But also in the previous version I had the task audio icon turned off and this reverted it, making me think something went wrong with the update. Please restore the previous behavior. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
