[kwin] [Bug 497952] "Touchpad toggle" keyboard global shortcut is only set up if you log into a Wayland session first

2025-02-11 Thread Nicolas Fella
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497952

Git commit 1d13d6fdb04ec75ba5c067bc54222d23a97facc7 by Nicolas Fella.
Committed on 11/02/2025 at 12:04.
Pushed by nicolasfella into branch 'Plasma/6.3'.

[kcms/touchpad] Make toggle touchpad shortcut consistent with Wayland session

On Wayland KWin takes care of this and since
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/4384f9c5fd9e93d3c2e2c5068fff681685eca874
it includes a shortcut based on Key_Zenkaku_Hankaku

Make the X11 version consistent with that, otherwise the configuration diverges
between X11 and Wayland and you get different behaviors depending on which one
is used first

[kid3] [Bug 499812] New: Feature request: Edit chapters via the CLI

2025-02-11 Thread Unknown
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499812

Bug ID: 499812
Summary: Feature request: Edit chapters via the CLI
Classification: Applications
   Product: kid3
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: uflei...@users.sourceforge.net
  Reporter: obs...@obskyr.io
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently, itʼs not possible to edit chapters using the CLI. In fact, the
`Chapters` pseudo-tag does not even appear using the `get` command (though it
can be selected/deselected/copied/pasted/deleted). I would love to be able to
edit chapter markers in the CLI! (Currently, the only tool that can edit
chapters using the command line across several formats is FFmpeg, and that has
the unfortunate side effect of mangling all other metadata in various ways.

I suggest a new command or set of commands for this – building this more
complex functionality into the existing `set` and `get` commands strikes me as
shoving a square peg into a round hole.

(I presume the plan is to eventually implement the `Chapters` pseudo-tag for
all the relevant formats – manipulating that may be a good way to solve
this.)

One consideration that may need to be made is Kid3ʼs eventual Matroska support:
Matroska chapters appear to potentially be far more complex than in other
formats, so whatever solution is chosen would need to be extensible to Matroska
(without unintentionally mangling metadata) as well.

I do not like this behaviour: I like standard colorful icons in the system
tray. I want coulorful icons everywhere@ Coudl we have the choice please???!!!
If it is possible for Kickoff, why not for the systemtray as well?!

Classification: Applications

   Version: 24.12.2
  Platform: Arch Linux

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist

 Component: general

  Target Milestone: ---

I tried to install an app located on my Desktop folder with Konsole, problem
is, the location is /home/user/Área de trabalho/
It could only read "/Área" and changing the path to "/Desktop" didn't work.

Creating a link/shortcut to the folder named "Desktop" works.

Is it possible to create secondary names for a folder? Then these translated
names could be accessible with their english names.

Anyway, I'm requesting a method that would allow users to use the english
names/paths of these known folders.

I have seen this same issue under linux with the nightly builds. Usually, the
next image to the right is the one that is included and tagged incorrectly. I
have not been able to reproduce it reliably. but it tends to happen while
digikam is processing images at the same time or just after it has finished or
while it is still loading a large library. it doesn't seem to happen as often
when digikam has sat idle for a while.

it happens with a single face that I am changing the name of, or multiple
consecutively in a row, but when it behaves erratically, it's always the next
image to the right of the last image selected.

Though I encourage some discussion on this, I think the current state is
intentional. KRunner is not something most people trying out Plasma will know
about or use frequently, and providing all plasma search functionalities on
Kickoff allows them to find them where they would expect them to be. Other OSs
like Windows and ChromeOS also offer similar features on the application search
bar.

In the log I see a bunch of "Failed to create a framebuffer" warnings and

I also found

[plasmashell] [Bug 499822] New: "Virtual keyboard" button on lock screen seems to be broken when clicked with mouse

Bug ID: 499822
Summary: "Virtual keyboard" button on lock screen seems to be
broken when clicked with mouse

   Version: 6.2.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: e...@horse64.org
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

The "Virtual keyboard" button on lock screen seems to be broken when clicked
with mouse. When clicking it, nothing happens. Touch works however and brings
up the keyboard. This might be related to
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499522 but for that one it's the tray icon
and it often never works, not even with touch, so I'm assuming there might be
some differences in what handles this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Enable maliit in KDE system settings.
2. Lock screen. Maliit shouldn't be visible at this point to test this bug.
3. Use mouse to click "Virtual keyboard" button in bottom-left corner. Don't
use a touch tap, it has to be a mouse click.
3. Wait for Maliit to show.

OBSERVED RESULT

Nothing happens when clicking "Virtual keyboard".

EXPECTED RESULT

When I tap or click "Virtual keyboard" once, no matter if using a mouse or my
finger, Maliit should show up. If I tap or click it again, Maliit should
disappear.

Thumbnails under home directory

SUMMARY
After enabling the "Show Thumbnails" feature, in some folders (especially the
home directory), the icons for files/folders that can generate thumbnails
appear smaller than regular icons without thumbnails, while other folders
remain normal. The bug was likely introduced in versions 24.12.1-1 or
24.12.2-1. Both of my KDE devices exhibit the same issue, with one having
remained unupdated for a long time and encountering the bug after today's
update.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Enable the "Show Thumbnails" option in KDE Dolphin.
2.Navigate to a folder containing a mix of files/folders that can generate
thumbnails (e.g., images, videos) and those that cannot (e.g., plain
documents). The issue is most noticeable in the home directory.

OBSERVED RESULT
Files/folders capable of generating thumbnails (e.g., images) display smaller
icons compared to regular files/folders without thumbnails.

EXPECTED RESULT
All files/folders, regardless of thumbnail availability, should maintain
consistent icon sizes when the "Show Thumbnails" feature is enabled.

[Discover] [Bug 499823] New: Wrongly labeled flatpak audio permissions!

2025-02-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499823

Bug ID: 499823
Summary: Wrongly labeled flatpak audio permissions!
Classification: Applications
   Product: Discover
   Version: 6.2.5
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mne...@protonmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
For any flatpak application to be able to play sound, you need to grant it the
permission to use the Pulse audio server. Unfortunately for now flatpaks dont
allow you to control, whether you just want to grant the permission of audio
output or audio input, just to the whole pulse audio server.
(https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/6082 ;
https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal/discussions/1142)
Discover translates this permission into "Application can play audio", which is
clearly false and could maybe even be seen as a security concern for users with
little knowledge in this aspect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Search for any flatpak application, which clearly can use your microphone, like
audacity or dicord.

OBSERVED RESULT
Look at the listed audio permissions. "Can play audio"

EXPECTED RESULT
"Can play audio"
"Can use microphone(maybe a disclaimer here so people dont think everything is
spyware)"
OR
"Has access to pc audio"
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Its very unfortunate that flatpaks cant be configure in that way yet, but I
definitely think discover should disclose this.

SUMMARY

-Qogir just added support for svg cursors, but when it gets zoomed out, the
baked in shadows look very bad
-I also checked the default.svg file, there the shadows look fine, so I'm
opening this issue here, instead of on their github
-The issue does not appear when using cursor sizes 48 or above

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. enable shake cursors, set magnification to max for visibility
2. download qogir icons from within system settings
3. change cursor theme to qogir or qogir-dark
3.5 change cursor size to 18, 24 or 32, size 18 looking the most broken
4. shake the cursor
5. look at your screen in an off angle, so as to see the artifacting better,
use a bright white screen to see it better

OBSERVED RESULT

Perhaps the drop shadows fills the space all the way to the left edge. The

[konsole] [Bug 499811] New: Every click in Konsole window is interpreted as double click

2025-02-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499811

Bug ID: 499811
Summary: Every click in Konsole window is interpreted as double
click
Classification: Applications
   Product: konsole
   Version: 24.12.1
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: akru...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Every click within the Konsole window is suddenly interpreted as a double
click. Single left clicking on the text within a terminal selects a word, like
a double-click whould. Clicking on a tab opens the tab properties window.
Clicking on a menu bar item starts drawing the outline for that menu for a
split second, then removes it again, like a very fast double-click on the menu
bar item would. Right-clicking on the terminal contents opens the context
window for a split second, then closes it again, like a fast double right-click
would.

I woke up the system from suspend to ram today and a while later, noticed the
double-click behaviour, but I am not certain that the error appeared instantly
after wake-up. The error was not present yesterday before suspend to ram. This
is the first time I have noticed this error. Other windows, like Firefox, Kate
etc., appear unaffected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Hard to tell. It may have appeared after suspend-to-ram, but it never
occurred before, even though I used suspend-to-ram frequently.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Single clicks become double-clicks in Konsole window

EXPECTED RESULT
Clicks should not be doubled

[Haruna] [Bug 499829] New: Flatpak "Auto load videos from same folder" not working

2025-02-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 499829
Summary: Flatpak "Auto load videos from same folder" not
working
Classification: Applications
   Product: Haruna
   Version: 1.3.2
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic
  Assignee: georgefb...@gmail.com
  Reporter: owi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Ubuntu deb packet work fine, but in Ubuntu Store maximum version is 0.12. So I
tried to use Flatpak version. Flatpak version work very good, except one option
that I very like: "Auto load videos from same folder". In Ubuntu deb packet
this feature works great (smb:// pathes and from root OS / path), flatpak cant
autoload both. Maybe its permission issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any folder with few videos
2. Open any ONE video with Haruna
3. Haruna opened selected video, but not autoloaded all videos in same folder.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only selected video opened and added to Playlist

EXPECTED RESULT
All videos from folder with selected video were opened

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Ubuntu deb works great, but there is only 0.12 version
smb:// pathes means connected samba disk or remote network disk
