[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 499050] Notes applet doesn't remember its size

2025-02-10 Thread maxlefou
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499050

--- Comment #6 from maxlefou  ---
Resuming again: Bug is still present, causing the applet to take its default
size on boot at random times. Can't test on wayland because wayland doesn't
work for me.

I found a "visual workaround" though for the bug. When the applet is set to
transparent, you can't see its size and doesn't obscure the wallpaper. But
well, it doesn't resolve the problem.

[digikam] [Bug 499739] New: When confirming face recommendations, clicking Enter in the name list tags current photo, plus next

2025-02-10 Thread Michael Moore
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499739

Bug ID: 499739
   Summary: When confirming face recommendations, clicking Enter
in the name list tags current photo, plus next
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 8.6.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Workflow
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: stuporg...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When working through face recommendations, if there is a wrong face you can
click the thumbnail and type a name.

If you then click the correct name with the mouse, only the current photo is
tagged.

If you use the arrow keys and hit enter on the correct name, both the current
photo and the next photo are tagged with the selected name.

Results: Photos get tagged with the wrong person

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Using recent weekly build
digiKam-8.6.0-20250209T190112-Qt6-x86-64-debug.appimage on Debian
2. Run face recognition, have recommended results for an existing person tag
with mixed correct and incorrect suggestions.
3. Click a wrong suggestion and click into the name search text box. Type until
you see the name you want

4a - (BUG PATH) Use the arrow keys to select the name, hit Enter to approve it
4b - (WORK AROUND) Use the mouse to click the name

OBSERVED RESULT

When using the Enter key to approve the selected name the current photos is
tagged and the next photo is also tagged. Both are tagged with the selected
name.

EXPECTED RESULT

Only the currently selected photo should have its recommended face tag
approved.

[digikam] [Bug 499740] New: It would be nice to have a way to review recently tagged faces

2025-02-10 Thread Michael Moore
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499740

Bug ID: 499740
   Summary: It would be nice to have a way to review recently
tagged faces
Classification: Applications
   Product: digikam
   Version: 8.6.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Workflow
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: stuporg...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In the current workflow, if you tag some faces incorrectly it is very difficult
to find the photo which you just tagged a face in.

WISH: I wish there were a way to review recently tagged faces

USE CASES:

* You know you made a mistake, but you can't find the photo you just tagged.
This is especially problematic if you are confirming suggestions for a single
person.
* Multi-user review - One person can do an initial pass, and a second user
could review the tagging
* Review in case of digiKam bugs (eg.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499739)

MODES:

I would suggest that a tool be added to select all Images which have been
tagged with at least two modes:

1. Show the last N faces which have been tagged (eg. show the last 1000 faces I
tagged, etc.
2. Show all faces tagged in the last N minutes/hours/days

The results should be able to have the usual filters from the Filter pane
apply.

SUGGESTION:

I would suggest adding a new created_ts column to the ImagesTags table, with a
default value of CURRENT_TIMESTAMP. Queries could then leverage this timestamp
for the "last N minutes" mode of filtering, or to sort for selecting the "last
N tagged" mode.

Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is a thrilling adventure that takes
trekkers through the diverse landscapes of the Annapurna region. This trek
combines the classic Annapurna Circuit with a detour to Tilicho Lake (4,919m),
the world’s highest glacial lake, offering breathtaking views and a rewarding
challenge.
https://natureheaventreks.com/st_tour/annapurna-circuit-trek-with-tilicho-lake/

The journey begins in Besisahar, following the Marsyangdi River through lush
forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. As the trail ascends,
trekkers experience the dramatic change in scenery from subtropical forests to
alpine meadows and barren landscapes. Tilicho Lake, a pristine turquoise gem
nestled among the snow-capped peaks, is the trek’s major highlight.

The trek then rejoins the Annapurna Circuit, leading to the famous Thorong La
Pass (5,416m)—the highest point of the trek—offering panoramic views of
Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Annapurna ranges. Descending into Muktinath, a sacred
pilgrimage site, the trek continues through the Kali Gandaki Gorge before
concluding in Jomsom or Pokhara.

Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake

The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake is a thrilling adventure that
takes trekkers through the diverse landscapes of the Annapurna region. This
trek combines the classic Annapurna Circuit with a detour to Tilicho Lake
(4,919m), the world’s highest glacial lake, offering breathtaking views and a
rewarding challenge.

This trek is ideal for adventure enthusiasts looking for high-altitude
challenges, breathtaking scenery, and cultural immersion. With stunning
landscapes and rewarding experiences, the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho
Lake is truly a journey of a lifetime.

Did you notice the button itself changes and tells you which side will be

Is it legible to you ?

I feel a setting as you suggest would make sense, we'd have in settings,
something like:

  ( ) Close the unfocused one

2025-02-10 Thread Stefan Soyka
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499647

--- Comment #5 from Stefan Soyka  ---
I followed your advice and created the title using the title editor and used
the "position and zoom" transformation to scroll through it. This did indeed
the trick, colors as wanted.
It is a good workaround and even superior because it allows for key frames to
control the flow of scrolling. Nevertheless, the "animation" function in the
title editor is broken, obviously since long time, and should - in my opinion -
be removed from the title editor.
Thank you for your good work that helped me a lot!

[plasmashell] [Bug 499734] Plasma panel widgets do not follow the users 'Invert Scroll Direction' preference on mouse

(In reply to David Redondo from comment #2)
> As far as I am aware this is intentional:
> Scrolling up should always raise the volume, scrolling down always lower.
> Same for brightness up = > brighter

Cheers David. Just to double check, even though the user has set their mouse
scroll to inverted, you're certain this behaviour is intentional and the
widgets are designed to ignore that setting? From a user’s perspective, I could
just change the setting in the mouse preferences back to normal and not use the
inverted option if I preferred the normal scroll directions, but it is somewhat
disorienting being the only place that does not follow the user preference. I'm
just trying to understand the reasoning behind this intentional decision?

I'm would be happy to reopen this as a feature request, but I obviously don't
want to waste anyone's time if it's definitely intended.

  Target Milestone: ---

Gentoo doesn't currently generate build-ids by default (we tried it in the
past, had some issues with file collisions, will likely try again in the
future) and they're of limited use to KDE anyway because most users won't have
a known build-id anyway. It will be a bit useful for our new binary packages
but it'll still be the minority.

Anyway, we shouldn't reject/refuse to submit GDB payloads in drkonqi because of
this when we have an empty build-id
(https://github.com/KDE/drkonqi/blob/015e1bc2cc4ece240de0f732078431101e57a7c0/src/data/gdb_preamble/preamble.py#L409).

Given that this check *is* useful on most distros, I guess we want a way to
customise it. I may just patch it out in Gentoo for now though so we can get
useful reports.

[okular] [Bug 499746] New: Okular crashes when adding zero-size signature with background image

2025-02-10 Thread Oliver Sander
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499746

Bug ID: 499746
   Summary: Okular crashes when adding zero-size signature with
background image
Classification: Applications
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: oliver.san...@tu-dresden.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I have started to add a background image when digitally signing pdf files. This
seems to work well enough.

However, Okular crashes when, instead of drawing a rectangle for the signature,
I simply click on the screen. This happens reliably, for any pdf and image
files I have tried. It does not happen when signing without a background image.

Both my poppler and Okular are self-compiled, from today's master branches.

All our development is public, for anyone all the answer are there to be found
with a little effort.
Finding the relevant merge-requests and history is not hard.
The entry point is

Do I need to answer this?

This bug is about making the new implementation a match feature-for-feature
compared to the old one, and eventually removing the old one afterwards, but
that takes time and effort which is a limited resource...

I think this gives a better idea of the functions in the dropdown menu.

All of which make sense under the name Session.

But you are not leaving the device when you switch user, you also might not be

I see. That looks like an unintended misuse of the Qt API.
QCoreApplication::applicationName() isn't supposed to be used for user-visible

for.

Add gdb pretty printer for MyMoneyMoney class

With Windows/gdb, 'set auto-load safe-path /' must be used
before starting an executable file to activate the loading
of a pretty printer.

Gdb pretty printers work in kdevelop and the gdb window in
QtCreator with the 'p' command, but currently not in the
symbol display due to a bug in the QtCreator gdb bridge
(https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTCREATORBUG-32480).

[kmymoney] [Bug 499752] New: The debugger (gdb) cannot display values of instances of the MyMoneyMoney class

2025-02-10 Thread Ralf Habacker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499752

Bug ID: 499752
   Summary: The debugger (gdb) cannot display values of instances
of the MyMoneyMoney class
Classification: Applications
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.92
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: buildsystem
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ralf.habac...@freenet.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The class MyMoneyMoney is an elementary class and is used very often in the
source code. Since the contained value is hidden inside, it cannot be displayed
directly in debuggers such as gdb, kdevelop or QtCreator, which makes debugging
more difficult. Outputs must therefore be generated manually by adding debug
outputs, e.g. with `qDebug() << instance.toDouble()` or in the gdb window with
`p instance.toDouble()`. It would speed up debugging if there is corresponding
support for debuggers.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. build kmymoney from source (git master branch) with debug information
included
2. run
```
gdb /bin/kmymoney
(gdb) b main
(gdb) r
(gdb) b MyMoneyMoney::One
```
3.  inspect debugger output

OBSERVED RESULT
The debugger displays a lot of data, but not the relevant value:
```
(gdb) p MyMoneyMoney::ONE
$1 = { = {d = {d = 0x87f300}}, _vptr.MyMoneyMoney = 0x778b18c0
, static maxValue = { = {d = {d =
0x8807e0}},
_vptr.MyMoneyMoney = 0x778b18c0 , static
maxValue = , static minValue =
{ = {d = {d = 0x880810}},
  _vptr.MyMoneyMoney = 0x778b18c0 , static
maxValue = ,
  static minValue = , static
autoCalc = { = {d = {d = 0x8807b0}}, _vptr.MyMoneyMoney =
0x778b18c0 ,
static maxValue = ,
static minValue = ,
static autoCalc = ,
static ONE = { = {d = {d = 0x87f300}}, _vptr.MyMoneyMoney =
0x778b18c0 ,
  static maxValue = ,
static minValue = ,
  static autoCalc = ,
static ONE = , static MINUS_ONE
= { = {d = {d = 0x87f3f0}},
_vptr.MyMoneyMoney = 0x778b18c0 ,
static maxValue = ,
static minValue = ,
static autoCalc = ,
static ONE = ,
static MINUS_ONE = }},
static MINUS_ONE = },
static ONE = ,
  static MINUS_ONE = },
static autoCalc = ,
static ONE = , static
MINUS_ONE = },
  static minValue = , static
autoCalc = , static ONE = ,
  static MINUS_ONE = }
```

EXPECTED RESULT
Instead, the debugger should display the value contained in the named instance
```
(gdb) p MyMoneyMoney::ONE
$1 = 1
```

Thanks! There must be slight error still:

Refresh :kbd:`F5`
Refresh (without thumbnails update) :kbd:`F5`

as latter should read kbd:`Ctrl+F5` instead?

In same occasion: I also found there that Image Editor has shortcut F4. Could
you make it read also in both menu and toolbar button where that information is
missing?

Could you perhaps mention which character is causing the issue?

In the meantime, I have an idea about a potential cause for the crash.
Especially given that you mentioned that it only popped up since the last

[okular] [Bug 499758] New: An Image Cycling Form Doesn't Properly Replace Images

2025-02-10 Thread T. H. Wright
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499758

Bug ID: 499758
   Summary: An Image Cycling Form Doesn't Properly Replace Images
Classification: Applications
   Product: okular
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

An example of the open file after hitting show forms

SUMMARY

At the following website, various PDFs are made available, many for free. These
PDFs have PNG (?) images stored in them that can be cycled to adjust the color
scheme of the images.

https://printableheroes.com/

When hitting the cycle button/form, the image attempts to change but does not
properly replace the previous image. Instead it seems to paste the next image
on top of the previous image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. An example download link can be found here in the top right corner:
https://printableheroes.com/minis/492 I attempted to copy the download link but
it appears not to work independently of the website.
2. Open the PDF in Okular
3. Turn on Show Forms
4. Attempt to click the "click to cycle" or "click to select a base" button.
5. After the first click, the image will appear stuck and duplicated.

Accidentally hit enter. Other info:

EXPECTED RESULT

I am expecting the initial image to disappear from the PDF and the new image to
replace it. A second click of the button I am expecting to either cycle to the
next image or back to the first image, properly replacing the previous one in
the cycle.

Confirmed with an accented character.
I see what's happening here: the taglib library was not getting the correct
path if there were special characters involved. The fix is fairly easy. It
should be fixed in the next release.

Thanks for the explanation, David, appreciate it! The rationale is much clearer

Cannot reproduce. KDevelop 5 is no longer maintained.

Looks like the Patch Review plugin or loading plugins on demand is broken on
your system. A possible workaround is to disable the Patch Review plugin on the

one thing i noticed on another laptop (an old t420)

Here i don't see the layout problem,
but what i see when first opening the dialog is, that the elements move quickly
into place (a very subtle effect, but noticeable)
This does not happen when switching between mouse and wallpaper afterwards,
then it's instant.

Maybe this moving into place is broken somehow on the other machines?
Btw, both had previously (the p14s still has, the t470 does not any more) a
secondary monitor connected.
The t420 from the 3rd test did not (laptop only)
