Not sure how I can share the full pic

This is while opening the context menu for a dir with 30k files, not 275k like
in the report. Still takes a few seconds

Git commit 763721d8a22a4e564dc0ef43d58257b1d57f11a7 by David Redondo.
Committed on 06/02/2025 at 08:33.
Pushed by davidre into branch 'Plasma/6.3'.

Remove and add idle timeout when inhibited and unhibited

Ensures that when a dbus inhibition is lifted the idle time
starts anew. Otherwise a new idle timeout would not start
until user activity and we would never lock.
The stored type of the the timeout is changed to double to
make testing with shorter timeouts possible.

INaturalist use the JPEG embeded extraction from RAW to speed up processing.
There is no demosaicing stage here.

If you pre-process RAW using BQM, you can use also JPEG embeded or demosaicing.
Of course results are differents.

Demosaicing can be customized by settings in BQM. This is what's you need...

[dolphin] [Bug 495878] Customizing the default view settings doesn't work anymore

2025-02-06 Thread Méven
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=495878

To shed some light, affected people could you run and report the results of
commands :

getfattr -d ~/Documents

And generally the folder concerned, after you have set non-default settings,
and after you load the folder and reproduce the issue.
The command may return nothing and that would be informative.

And

getfattr -d ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global
cat ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global/.directory

When you have changed the default settings (that's where they are stored).
The .directory file isn't supposed to be present.

I will probably add verbose traces to dolphin, so that after a future release
we will have more to work with.

> I'm a little concerned how this issue is so hard to reproduce, as I am using
> essentially stock KDE with stock Dolphin. I have done nothing special
> whatsoever and I have only modified the settings listed in this issue. All
> other settings are default

Don't be, as you have seen this requires some unknown conditions for the bug to
manifest. The fact that you have a fresh install and most people aren't has
probably to do with it or at least partly.
Be patient please and diligent please, I am very much frustrated be assured.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 499587] Cannot receive file from PC to Android phone

2025-02-06 Thread zkrx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499587

So it seems that I cannot edit the original description.

"Share and receive settings":
"Customize destination directory" enabled
"Destination directory": /tree/primary:kdeconnect (permission allowed)

So for some reason (app is open?) I now receive notifications, but clicking on
it does nothing and the "kdeconnect" directory remains empty.

I think that the log excerpt above is wrong and the tmpfs line might be a red
herring (many of these are being displayed even without using kdeconnect).
Actually, maybe I have something interesting:

[kde] [Bug 499589] New: Attempting to run an AppImage that needs a --no-sandbox from UI just exits without helpful message

2025-02-06 Thread Reuben
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499589

Bug ID: 499589
Summary: Attempting to run an AppImage that needs a
--no-sandbox from UI just exits without helpful
message
Classification: I don't know
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@flavor8.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

This is from Dolphin, but presumably the issue is deeper in KDE.

I can run a downloaded AppImage from Dolphin - when I double click, it pops up
a dialog asking if I want to execute it. However, if the AppImage is electron
and needs to mount the chromium sandbox(??), nothing will visible happen after
clicking "execute". This is suprising and annoying.

KDE should detect this situation, and give a choice (presented in a more
explanatory way):
a) Sudo to fix the perms on the sandbox
b) Run without sandbox

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download Quiqr AppImage (https://quiqr.org/)
2. Attempt to run it from Dolphin

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing apparently happens, as described. Per Claude, the two alternatives are:

1) Run the AppImage with the --no-sandbox flag:

./your-appimage.AppImage --no-sandbox

2) Set the correct permissions as root:

sudo chown root:root /tmp/.mount_quiqr_huIfd2/chrome-sandbox
sudo chmod 4755 /tmp/.mount_quiqr_huIfd2/chrome-sandbox
./your-appimage.AppImage

EXPECTED RESULT
Containers (hopefully including AppImages) are part of the future. KDE should
help remove the friction of using them.

That's not true it uses `QMimeDatabase::MatchExtension`.

> It should use filename extension only.

The optimization would be to limit the time spent in this directory scanning.
If there is 1 image among 10 000 non-image files or ~275k we don't really care.

275K not that often.
I am guessing that can happen in some research fields or development, data
mining and other cases which we want to enable of course.

Okay, so after removing it, and saving the settings again.

$ cat ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global/.directory
(Does not exist anymore, it was not recreated)

$ getfattr -d .local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global

Issue remains for me.

2025-02-06 Thread Iyán M . V .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=495878

(I send the output for ~/Pictures/Wallpapers, which works on my laptop, but not
on my PC, instead of ~/Documents, but otherwise exactly same issue).

Here are the outputs using Dolphin 24.12.1. Happy to repeat with latest commit,
or the previous commit before it breaks for me, if you think might help.

$ getfattr -d ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global
(Nothing)

$ cat ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global/.directory
[Dolphin]
PreviewsShown=false
Timestamp=2024,5,30,18,18,29.12
Version=4
ViewMode=1

(Before doing anything)
$ getfattr -d ~/Pictures/Wallpapers
(Nothing)

(Changing View Mode to Icons view mode)
$ getfattr -d ~/Pictures/Wallpapers
# file: Pictures/Wallpapers/
user.kde.fm.viewproperties#1="[Dolphin]\012PreviewsShown=false\012Timestamp=2025,2,6,10,28,28.576\012Version=4\012"

(Enabling Show preview of files, after having changed the view mode)
$ getfattr -d ~/Pictures/Wallpapers
(Nothing)

(Starting all over, this time only enabling show preview of files)
$ getfattr -d ~/Pictures/Wallpapers
# file: Pictures/Wallpapers/
user.kde.fm.viewproperties#1="[Dolphin]\012Timestamp=2025,2,6,10,31,12.817\012Version=4\012ViewMode=1\012"

Btw, I think I mentioned it before, but I can manually edit the attribute with
the following command:

$ setfattr -n "user.kde.fm.viewproperties#1" -v
"[Dolphin]\012PreviewsShown=true\012Timestamp=2025,2,6,10,28,28.576\012Version=4\012"

Hey! That's some quick reaction and investigation, thanks :)

Indeed as soon as I disabled that context menu entry (and restarted dolphin),
the context menu opened instantly on the directory.

This entry must come from my distro (opensuse tumbleweed), because I haven't
customized the context menu entries, and also it comes back if I click on the
"Defaults" button.

I don't know if that improvement on the gwenview plugin is something you can
report, or if I have to file a separate bug for that (it's just that a bug
filed by me would probably just be a link to some comments we exchanged here,
while maybe you can provide more useful info - although these comments are
probably enough already to get the ball rolling? Please let me know, np for me
to file another bug :) )

Now another point I want to mention though is that disabling that entry still
doesn't solve the problem when invoking the context menu on the "select all"
file selection, which still takes long. I'm collecting a dump/flamegraph for
this as well, and will report back.

You are missing some debug symbols but that's interesting already.
We can see the time is spent by the context menu plugin slideshowfileitemaction
which is part of gwenview and not enabled by default IIRC.

It is clearly due to:
https://invent.kde.org/graphics/gwenview/-/blob/master/app/slideshowfileitemaction.cpp?ref_type=heads#L49

There are no images in the folder and the files are of random type.
This can be optimized, it uses `db.mimeTypeForFile` which opens files when it
can't determine the mimetype by extension.
It should use filename extension only.

SUMMARY
When I open Settings → Persistent notification on my Samsung, it would open the
built-in notifications UI to either deny all notifications or accept or
notifications. This is inconvenient, because while I want plugins such as 'Find
my phone' and 'Share and receive' to work, I don't want to see the notification
all the time. My request is the Android app should stop relying on the platform
to customize notifications, it should provide these settings with its own UI.

How iNaturalist plugin converts images before sending? It seems to be creating
seemingly identical NEF-JPG conversion as the camera itself does. I tested by
sending both (NEF and camera created JPG) via plugin to iNaturalist and I
couldn't see a difference in the end result - both images seemed the same after
upload. Conversion tools via BQM create variable results most notably in
brightness, also occasionally adding noise. I would like to find a way to
create as good local NEF-JPG conversion as iNaturalist tool seems to repeatedly
do (I haven't tried to read through the code) - I think all conversions are
done by plugin before sending the files.

I installed Davinci Resolve and the keyboard shortcuts (For example; pressing B
to switch to the "cut" tool) were not working, and the menu bar was missing.
After some research I figured that maybe the Global menu widget was the
culprit. I disabled it, rebooted, but it was to no avail. After a lot more
research I found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1ISaTQFnAQ and
after translating it and following the instructions, which were disabling
"Application menus daemon" from "Background services" Davinci resolve worked as
intended.

I must add that my installation is not fresh at all, I've been using this at
least for 2 years now (so this particular PC started with Plasma 5.x). I have
done some cleaning in the past in ~/.config, though.

Disabling Ark's compress and extract context menu entries improved the
situation drastically (a few seconds before VS barely over 1 second now)(In

Prior to and after setting *just* the view setting to Icons, the output is
nothing.

if I also set "sort by -> modified" in addition to Icons view I get the
following:
getfattr: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: home/bananasgomoo/Documents
user.kde.fm.viewproperties#1="[Dolphin]\012SortRole=modificationtime\012Timestamp=2025,2,6,18,20,16.384\012Version=4\012ViewMode=1\012"

after resetting the sort by back to "name" (my default setting), the command
once again returns nothing.
so it is actively removing the attributes if only the view mode is changed.

> And

> cat ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global/.directory
>

getfattr -d ~/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global outputs the
following:
getfattr: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: home/bananasgomoo/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global
user.kde.fm.viewproperties#1="[Dolphin]\012Timestamp=2024,12,27,16,53,28.468\012Version=4\012ViewMode=1\012"

as expected, the .directory does not exist:
cat: /home/bananasgomoo/.local/share/dolphin/view_properties/global/.directory:
No such file or directory

[Spectacle] [Bug 499585] New: Dragging a rectangle handle snaps the rectangle itself to the mouse position

2025-02-06 Thread Sybren Stüvel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499585

Bug ID: 499585
Summary: Dragging a rectangle handle snaps the rectangle itself
to the mouse position
Classification: Applications
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 23.08.5
  Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: noaha...@gmail.com
  Reporter: syb...@stuvel.eu
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When adjusting the rectangle to screenshot, by moving one of the handles, the
edge/corner of the rectangle itself snaps to the mouse position.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press PrtScr to open Spectacle
2. Configure it to capture a rectangular region
3. Draw a rectangle on the screen
4. Note the position of the top-left corner.
5. "Grab" the top left handle (the dot) by pushing down the left mouse button
with the cursor positioned on the dot.
6. Move the mouse by a pixel.

OBSERVED RESULT

The top left corner of the rectangle snaps to the mouse position.

EXPECTED RESULT

The top left corner moves by a pixel.

I expected that the offset between the handle and the rectangle would remain
constant, and that any motion applied to the handle would be applied to the
rectangle.

[frameworks-kglobalaccel] [Bug 499583] New: KDEPlatformTheme plugin causes text artifacts in Qt 6 application (AutoCheckAccelerators, mnemonics)

Bug ID: 499583
Summary: KDEPlatformTheme plugin causes text artifacts in Qt 6

Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-kglobalaccel
   Version: 6.8.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: martin.babut...@web.de
CC: fanzhuyi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

"Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it."

The title is intentionally chosen very similar to this issue:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337491
*This is because the issue behaves exactly the same - but for Qt6 instead of
Qt5.*

My Qt version is 6.8.1. I am not 100% sure if kglobalaccel is responsible for
the problem but kxmlgui of the reference issue was seemingly also not correct.
Someone there mentioned the KAcceleratorManager as cause but I did not found
this as Product to select.

The problem hit me at a custom Pyside 6 application. Only reason it did not
crash was because the exception was caught:

```
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "[...]editor/dialogs.py", line 995, in buttonClicked
self.worker = ConsistencyWorker(self.Ctrl.currents,
CMT_NAME_TO_PRODUCT_STRING_MAP[product], self.Ctrl.metadata)
~~^
KeyError: '&SmartA'
```

Just like in the original issue the problem could be workarounded by adding

```
[Development]
AutoCheckAccelerators=false
```

to .config/kdeglobals

As developer I still can't imagine how anyone could come up with "Let's inject
ran&dom Qt mnemoni&cs into UI objects of 3rd party ap&plications! Like what
ha&rm could an i&nvisible random am&persand do in the tex&t value of a
butto&n?"

But maybe I haven't fully grasped the sense of this feature. From my
perspective it is just asking for problems.

This is to show the context menu on a selection of 5000 flat files (4KB .bin),
no sub-dirs

Seems to be related to mime types again (triggered by the compress/extract
actions)?

Yes that's a different issue in ark in CompressFileItemAction and
ExtractFileItemAction that scan all the files.
They will probably need some similar work to limit the determineMimeType calls:
https://invent.kde.org/utilities/ark/-/blob/master/app/compressfileitemaction.cpp?ref_type=heads
https://invent.kde.org/utilities/ark/-/blob/master/app/extractfileitemaction.cpp?ref_type=heads

It exposes two issues with the API, the plugins can impact the application
(there run in main thread) and those mimetypes have already be determined by
dolphin when it loaded the folder, so they could share this information.

Removing pre tags didn't not help.

However uninstalling the snap package version from the App Center and

This problem seems to be fixed in Konsole 24.12.0, from Plasma 6.2.5, in Debian
13 weekly build ('testing' repository).
As for the size of the window, I don't know where to get it from or how it's
calculated (if it's from the outside edges or the inside ones).
My laptop screen is 17" and the resolution is 1920x1080p.
I don't remember if when I reported it I was using the Klassy window decoration
or not, but now I do.
Still, I don't expect that the problem was caused or fixed by using this window
decoration.
Since I don't notice the problem anymore, I's set it as resolved.

Indeed. Which means the app itself is either mis-written or mis-packaged. If it
needs that flag to run successfully, it's the app's responsibility to do so.

Really this is no different from any other misbehaving app. If an app
successfully launches but then doesn't show a window or quits immediately, it's
the app's fault, and there isn't really anything we can do about it. Showing
STDOUT or STDERR won't work because 1) there's no guarantee anything will be
printed there and 2) there's no guarantee anything printed there would be
related to the issue. Lots of app (including many of our own, unfortunately)
print a lot of junk there that doesn't actually indicate a problem.

So please report this to the app's developer or AppImage packager. Thanks!

[kde] [Bug 499589] Attempting to run an AppImage that needs a --no-sandbox from UI just exits without helpful message

2025-02-06 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499589

Then it's every Electron app's responsibility, or Electron's responsibility.

Basically, if the app is written or packaged so badly that it quits immediately
after launching, that's the thing that needs to be fixed. Anything we could do
on our side would be an unreliable and potentially misleading band-aid.

Hi!
Sounds like technically it could cover such feature, but it will be very ugly
crutch)
I switched from gnome just a week ago and now adapting to kde.
In gnome I used the ddterm extension and it has such shortcuts, and I just
changed transparency with Ctrl+Shift+Up/Down when it was needed.
To check browser content, or even to watch full screen video behind transparent
terminal.

If such feature will no be planned, so, then thank you for the idea with
profiles)

Why do you find that hard to believe?

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2858 is identical to this; I'm
not sure why it got closed but you can create a new issue about this at

In general amdgpu's PSR support is a bit broken with the latest kernels, I too
have it disabled on my laptop to work around a similar issue :/

[kdeconnect] [Bug 499615] New: Allow Dark Mode Support on Non-KDE Desktop Environments (e.g., GNOME on Ubuntu)

2025-02-06 Thread Jared
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499615

Bug ID: 499615
Summary: Allow Dark Mode Support on Non-KDE Desktop
Environments (e.g., GNOME on Ubuntu)
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 23.08.3
  Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: jared...@gmail.com
CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Description:
I'm currently using KDE Connect on Ubuntu with the GNOME desktop environment.
While my system is set to dark mode, KDE Connect's interface does not fully
adopt a dark theme. It appears that KDE Connect relies on KDE Plasma's theming
and does not integrate well with non-KDE environments.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install KDE Connect on Ubuntu running GNOME.
2. Enable dark mode in the GNOME system settings.
3. Launch KDE Connect and observe that parts of the interface remain in a light
theme.

Expected Behavior:
KDE Connect should either:
- Integrate seamlessly with the system's dark mode settings, or
- Provide an in-app option to manually enable a dark theme for users on non-KDE
environments.

Environment Details:
- KDE Connect Version: 23.08.5 (installed via 'sudo apt install kdeconnect')
- Ubuntu Version: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
- Desktop Environment: GNOME

Enhancing dark mode support would greatly improve the user experience for those
using KDE Connect on non-KDE desktops. Thank you for considering this feature
request!

Here's the requested screenshot of the title settings.
No matter the size or font, it always happens at blur 18.
The edges aren't as visible at smaller sizes, but there's still a very
noticeable change going between 17 and 18. It looks like it might be
interpolating to out of bounds pixels, so it essentially "connects" to the
edges of the text object?

[kwin] [Bug 499612] New: Screen freezes briefly when starting Element

2025-02-06 Thread Jakob Petsovits
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499612

Bug ID: 499612
Summary: Screen freezes briefly when starting Element
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jpe...@petsovits.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Starting Element, the semi-official Matrix client, seems to cause a full stop
on compositing the desktop for a short while. Both the mouse pointer and
unrelated window contents will freeze for a few seconds.

Now my ThinkPad is ~5 years old and I'm running debug builds of everything, so
it's possible that a regular user will experience a shorter interruption.
Still, starting a program should not cause frame skips in other programs, let
along drag down the desktop for a prolonged amount of time.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Load an infinite CSS animation in your favorite browser, e.g.:
https://codepen.io/ykadosh/pen/XWBKjEV
2. Start Element. (On my system, this will still reproduce on repeated app
starts.)
3. Keep moving the pointer moving until Element's main window appears.

OBSERVED RESULT
While starting the app, both the CSS animation and the mouse cursor will freeze
until the window appears.

EXPECTED RESULT
No freezes ever.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Element version: 1.11.90
Crypto version: Rust SDK 0.8.0 (21f7cc7), Vodozemac 0.8.1

KWin version: bea7cdac8f24b0320becb53edb9078fd35cb2128 (master branch from Feb
1, 2025, close to the 6.3.0 release date)

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.12.10-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz
Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Intel® UHD Graphics 620
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 20QD001VUS
System Version: ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Debug build of kwin, Plasma Desktop/workspace and dependencies, KF6, but not Qt
which comes from standard (release -build) Arch packages.

Regular KDE software such as Kate or Konsole, or even non-KDE software such as
Webcord (using Electron), seem to cause no noticeable freezes on startup. I've
really only seen Element do this to KWin so far.

Looks awful here, but you can copy it all, paste it in Kate and zooom-out a lot
to see it how it was in the terminal.
First two lines are of orange / yellow color if that's any help.

[kwin] [Bug 499609] New: Cursor becomes VERY sluggish after a random amount of time

2025-02-06 Thread Evert Vorster
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499609

Bug ID: 499609
Summary: Cursor becomes VERY sluggish after a random amount of
time
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 6.2.4
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: evors...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 178026

Color profile I am using

SUMMARY
Sometimes the cursor becomes very sluggish, with about one position update per
second. The only way to fix this was a reboot.
I can't see anything wrong with the system, nothing untoward in journal or
dmesg, and no high load on any cpu core, both GPU's are idling, there is
absolutely no reason it should be doing this...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use laptop with dual GPU, and high resolution display. Wayland session,
custom ICC color profile, and set display resolution to non-native resolution.
2. Wait. Sometimes minutes, sometimes hours.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cursor becomes VERY sluggish. Less than one update per second.

EXPECTED RESULT
Cursor should never become sluggish.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Some background info, not sure if any of this will help.
Set this Arch Linux system to be only updated to a day before python 3.13 was
released on Arch (Early December) for reasons, but it explains why I am running
such a relatively old version of kwin for an Arch install.
I normally have a Wayland session, and use the fractional scaling to get my
high resolution monitor to be readable by my old eyes.
Was running into the issue of having a kernel oops on the amd driver, similar
to this one:https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=300299
There are two ways around this issue, one is to set a custom ICC color profile,
and another is to have the kernel switch amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10.
For the longest time, I was running the kernel switch, but then I got curious,
and found the icc profile I will attach to this bug. Switched that on, and the
kernel switch off. The error stayed away, and the only weirdness I saw was that
sometimes on the panel around the clock the screen would be corrupted. Whelp,
turn off transparency, and all seemed OK.

Now, I am also playing some games, and the scaling of the monitor gives weird
values through to the games, and I would like to have exactly 1920x1080.
Unfortunately, no scaling option exists that gives this resolution through to
games. (My native resolution is 2560x1440, exactly one third more, and
impossible to express in percentages. Math is cruel.
It is important to note that up to this point, I have not seen the cursor slow
down issue.

I then decided it would be a good idea to just set the screen resolution to
1920x1080, and scaling to 100%. It seemed ideal, because the games would get
the nice powers-of-two resolutions, and I could see no downsides to this
approach. (I can't see the extra resolution on my monitor anyways... as I
mentioned, I am old.)

Unfortunately, about two hours into a session, my cursor became extremely
sluggish. I check CPU loads, and none were busy. I checked dmesg, and nothing
untoward in there, same with the journal. Checked the CPUs with
mission-control, ran glances in a terminal, and all did not show anything
untoward.
Logged out of the session, and still the cursor was lagging, so it was not
anything that was running as my user.
The only thing that was changed was the running of non-native resolution, and
this does not make any sense to me!

Rebooting the laptop brought temporary relief, but sometimes it would only last
minutes before the cursor became sluggish again. Tried cold-booting it.

When running native resolutions and scaling, the issue does not show up. But, I
want the perfect power of two resolutions, so I am looking for a solution where
I can have a non-native resolution and not have the cursor become sluggish.

I have now plugged in the amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10 kernel parameter, and have
not seen the issue since, but I find it hard to believe that this could be a
driver issue. I will continue checking, of course. That kernel parameter
disables PSR on the amdgpu, and I don't like it, as it messes up my power
management on the laptop, which is why I went over to the ICC profile.

Any ideas of what to check the next time this shows up would be greatly
appreciated. Also, if this rings any b
