Thank you for your answer.

I`ve tried running Kdenlive as an administrator, but nothing changed.

When creating and opening a project, I can see all the drives. However, when
importing, drive D is not visible.
On my laptop with Windows 11, version 24.08.1 is installed, and all drives are
visible there. Therefore, I tried to downgrade to version 24.08.1 on my
computer with Windows 10, but the situation did not change.
It seems that something is wrong with my Windows 10 desktop system...

That "+" doesn't inform how many windows are there.

I'm requesting an option that would replace the green "+" with the exact number
of windows.
The "+" could be repurposed for when there's 100 windows or above, with "99+".

Git commit 2be342d610ca22e397801f3bc81cf3fc279c5dff by Fushan Wen.
Committed on 02/02/2025 at 10:08.
Pushed by fusionfuture into branch 'Plasma/6.3'.

kicker: remove favorites more reliably

previously we'd trip up on removal because the value of m_itemEntries
may no longer point to an existing resource. when that is the case we
must go by the key inside the map to relibably remove the favorite.

Hi Tom,
We've introduced a face image quality assessment (FIQA) check in 8.6.0. FIQA
checks for blurry, pixelated, and noisy faces, and removes them from being used
for training, but keeps the tag and rectangle for the end user.

Note, that this bug does not happen only when following symbolic links from
"desktop:".

It also happens, when they are are in other "special" protocol-like locations,
like "trash:".

With that in mind, are you sure it has anything to do with desktop:/ IOWorker?

I was trying to find which module is responsible for the "Properties for
{file}" window, but I can't locate it.

[okular] [Bug 499419] New: Okular window loses focus after opening a password-protected file

2025-02-02 Thread Michal Kec
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499419

Bug ID: 499419
Summary: Okular window loses focus after opening a
password-protected file
Classification: Applications
   Product: okular
   Version: 24.12.1
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@kecnet.cz
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When opening a password-protected file in Okular, the window does not
automatically gain focus, which prevents users from interacting with the
document using the keyboard.
This issue makes it necessary to use the mouse to activate the Okular window,
which is not ideal for keyboard users.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a password-protected file. A password prompt should appear.
2. Either enter a password or dismiss the prompt.
3. Use only the keyboard to interact with the document.

EXPECTED RESULT
You should be able to navigate the document/app using the keyboard immediately
upon opening.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Okular window is not focused; instead, the window from which you opened the
document remains focused.
Additionally, the Okular window does not appear in the Alt+Tab list, preventing
you from activating it using the keyboard alone.
However, Okular does show in the taskbar, requiring mouse usage to activate the
window. Once activated with the mouse, the Okular window will then appear in
the Alt+Tab list.

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Screen locking
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: mydj...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
After the timeout period where displays go into power saving mode after the
computer is locked, waking from this state will often have plasmashell be in
the software rendering mode, and also will have set the backend to software in
kdeglobals. It may be related to my monitor having a deep power saving mode,
where it will disconnect after an unspecified time, however I can't seem to
replicate it consistently. I am also using an Nvidia 3070 Ti with official
drivers.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have screens go into power saving mode
2. Wake computer
3. Observe Software Rendering notification in system tray
4. Observe scene backend in kdeglobals set to software

Hi TAB,
Can you please try again with the latest daily build? We've added a face image
quality assesment (FIQA) to the "rebuild all training" option in maintenance
and when confirming a new face. FIQA filters out blurry, noisy, and pixelated
faces from being used for training, which should help increase recognition
accuracy.

Cheers,
Mike

[plasmashell] [Bug 479964] Lock screen showing PKCS#11 error and referring to smart cards and fingerprint when neither have been set up

Reuben changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Ever confirmed|0 |1

 Resolution|DOWNSTREAM |---

Sorry, but I question the "resolved downstream" status.

a) Have Kubuntu in fact resolved it? I don't see evidence of that, but great if
they have.

b) What percentage of KDE installs come through Kubuntu? ALL of these users are
probably still affected.

c) The new settings/verbiage/feature is KDE initiated. If your distributers
mess up the packaging, and you can't control the distributers, KDE can withdraw
the feature, or move it behind a setting in order to make it right for users.
I know you hate adding settings, but what's worse: a sizable percentage of your
users encountering a "KDE bug" or a setting for the probably sub 1% of users
who have fingerprint or smartcard auth hardware? The setting could even be
enabled by a wizard after the first login if you detect that this hardware
exists.

d) Finally, to expand on the above more generally, if your distributers are
leading to your software "having bugs" and can't be relied upon to package KDE
"properly" or "optimally", then set up a certification program. If Ubuntu loses
"KDE Certified" status on Kubuntu, they'll either stop shipping the variant or
throw some more resources at it to gain and keep certification. KDE is the
brand that matters to most of your users; they just want a reliable OS
underneath it, which is why Kubuntu has a sizable share, since traditionally
Ubuntu has been quite reliable.

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@flavor8.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
KDE6 changed the default behavior of desktop widget's popup windows. In KDE5
they were readily dismissable - I believe when they lost focus, they would
disappear. This is ideal for windows like these.

In KDE6, seemingly the only way to get rid of them is to a) focus them and b)
press escape. There is no discoverable close button on most/all of them.
Clicking on the desktop background does not get rid of them. They persist ON
TOP of the stack of you switch to an application (although they will, at least
sometimes, disappear after some short period of time in this scenario).

There appears to be no setting to control this behavior.

This issue causes me enough friction that I'm honestly contemplating shopping
DEs (although in reality I will probably come back to KDE again). I interact
with widget windows many times a day, and it's consistently annoying.

The Wayland protocol proposal is very old and stalling. It would be a good
thing if KDE implement it without waiting a decision from Wayland burocracy.
I'm switching to Wayland and still I need to use Xwayland for GTK apps to have
the global menu.

Bug ID: 499422
Summary: System Settings crashes when working with firewall
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.27.5
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: allene.low...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: systemsettings (5.27.5)

Qt Version: 5.15.8
Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Operating System: Linux 6.1.0-30-amd64 x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
DrKonqi: 5.27.5 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
When trying to view connections on my firewall today, it simply crashed.
Previously, when I have attempted to add a rule (to allow a printer through,
because HP-LIP isn't playing nice anymore), it tells me the backend has
unexpectedly stopped. I believe but do not know that these are related.

The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible.

Exclude unsupported configure options in balance history report

The diagram types 'StackedBar' and 'Ring' do not produce any meaningful
diagram outputs and the function “Display outputs downwards” leads to
an application freeze and is therefore hidden.

[Akonadi] [Bug 310210] Cannot add apple / icloud address book resource with CardDAV

2025-02-02 Thread Stefan Brüns
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310210

Git commit ce2b60fd8d4f1de5a1de7f2dcc45f7e98177d8af by Stefan Brüns.
Committed on 26/01/2025 at 18:44.
Pushed by bruns into branch 'master'.

Also use relative hrefs with for carddav-multiget

This applies the same change to carddav as already done for caldav
(Commit bf6628ff1da1661a6485a2199d611e1b2ae5 "Replace absolute
URIs with relative ones in calendar-multiget request").

The rationale is some servers apparently having problems when the
DAV:href elements contains non-relative URLs (i.e. including scheme
and host), and return empty result in this case. (One such server
is Telekom Magentacloud/Spica, which is fixed with this change.)

It would seem safer to use the same notation as originally reported
in the DAV collection, but even that does not seem to always work - see
commit abfdd65f0c85332e1c16e5c01c74478d392364ba ("Use URLs in multiget
requests as returned by the Server"), which was reverted as it broke
with KDABs servers 7 years ago.

As nobody has reported any problems with the caldav change above, it is
probably safe to use relative hrefs now.

I’m having the very similar issue i.e. the same results - disappearing plasma,
but the different cause: for me it is happening only when I have an
usb-connected external monitor. It happens after waking up from sleep or just
unlocking locked desktop (with "lock after waking from sleep" enabled).
Unplugging and connecting the monitor again fixes the issue instantly. Happy to
help resolve the issue, let me know how can I help.

Bug ID: 499408
Summary: Oxygen theme in Fedora 41 KDE misses multiple icons
Classification: Plasma
   Product: Oxygen
   Version: 6.2.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

multiple missing icons when using Oxygen in Fedora

SUMMARY
I have recently started using Fedora 41 KDE in one of my laptops and I have
come across a lot of missing icons when using the official Oxygen theme. I used
the Oxygen icon theme found here:
https://github.com/KDE/oxygen-icons/releases/tag/v6.1.0

See the screenshot for many examples of icons missing.
Here is a list of all the programs in my Fedora machine that are currently
missing an icon:
Contact Print Theme Editor
Contact Theme Editor
KAddressBook
KDE Connect
KDE Connect SMS
KWrite
Okular
Spectacle
Welcome Center

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Fedora 41 KDE
2. Install the official Oxygen icons
3. Select the Oxygen icons from "System Settings -> Colors & Themes -> Icons"

OBSERVED RESULT
Icons are missing in many places. (see screenshot)

EXPECTED RESULT
Icons should appear. Either Oxygen icons or the default Breeze icons or the
last used icons should be used instead.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 41 KDE
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Kolourpaint, KWrite and Okular are the proper versions that ship with Fedora 41
KDE. They are not flatpaks.

Thank you for the bug report!

Debian advises users to not submit bugs upstream
(https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting), and Plasma 5.27.5 is no longer
eligible for support or maintenance from KDE. It's possible that the issue
exists only in Debian at this point.

Could you report the bug to Debian using the report bug utility
(https://packages.debian.org/stable/utils/reportbug)? If necessary, the
maintainer of the package will forward the bug upstream.
Thanks for understanding!

Thanks again!

Doesn't have to be advertised or anything, but it would be handy to be able to

Could be in the tooltip for the `Copy to Clipboaard` button in the header so

[krita] [Bug 499439] New: Alternating pen and mouse with the fill tool locks out mouse shortcuts

2025-02-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=499439

Bug ID: 499439
Summary: Alternating pen and mouse with the fill tool locks out
mouse shortcuts
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.2.6
  Platform: NixOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: cromach...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a workflow where I'm rapidly color picking and filling. I often fill
with my tablet pen, but then use the mouse right button to pick a color. I am
unable to use the mouse right button shortcut until the cursor leaves the
canvas viewport area. When the cursor returns to the viewport area, you can use
the mouse right button shortcut again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Assign "Mouse Button" -> "Right Button" to "Sample Foreground Color from
Merged Image"
2. Select the fill tool.
3. Hover your tablet pen over the canvas viewport.
4. Lift your tablet pen away from the surface to stop pen hover.
5. Right click with your mouse.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens.

EXPECTED RESULT
You can pick the color.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: NixOS 25.05
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
Kernel Version: 6.6.71 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor
Memory: 62.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you instead have a brush selected and try to move the mouse, then the brush
will appear to be frozen until the cursor position leaves the canvas viewport
area. Mouse interaction with the canvas at this time does not work at all.
However using the pen again before leaving the canvas viewport area recovers
the brush as well.
It seems like a lot of things break when trying to interchange using the mouse
and pen, which might hint at a common underlying issue.

Thank you very much, Nate.

In order to leave "Lock Screen" and "Show Logout Screen" at the bottom, I'd
suggest simply moving the "Wallpaper actions" entry (currently at the bottom)

accomplishing two goals with one move.

Bug ID: 499425
Summary: On page load, WPA2-EAP CA-certificate field replaced

connection failure
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 6.1.5
  Platform: Kubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 177907
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=177907&action=edit
Working config on top. Autogenerated, broken config on the bottom

SUMMARY

When loading the WiFi settings of a WPA2-EAP encrypted network that has the
CA-certificate field populated, the plain certificate path is replaced with a
file:// URI that ends in a whitespace. Saving again saves the file URI which
then causes connection failures.

I.e. "/home/user/.config/cert.pem" is replaced with
"file:///home/user/.config/cert.pem "

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a working WPA2-EAP encrypted wireless network connection, with
CA-certificate explicitly set to a filesystem path.
2. Open the connection in the network connections module, go to the encryption
tab
3. Observe that the CA-cert field now contains a file:// URI that ends with a
whitespace character.
4. Edit something and revert (hit a key, then backspace in any line edit), to
enable the Save button
5. Save the connection
6. Try to connect to the network
7. Observe it failing.

OBSERVED RESULT

No connection possible while the file:// URI is present in the CA-cert field.
freeradius3 on the backend server says:
```
(128) eap: Peer sent packet with method EAP NAK (3)
(128) eap: Peer NAK'd indicating it is not willing to continue
```

EXPECTED RESULT

Keep the field exactly as-is, similar to the username, password, anonymous
identity field.

In the broken state, removing both "file://" and the trailing whitespace, then
saving reverts to a working configuration.

I also managed to fix this.
In the KDE system settings you go to: Colors & Themes > Application Style, and
there you can select the qt6ct-style, which will have the settings set in
qt6ct.
To make dolphin follow the correct color scheme, i also edited
~/.config/dolphinrc and added this:
[UiSettings]
ColorScheme=*

So i think this can be marked as fixed.
