Please let me know it there is a better category or way to report this. I am not disposed to split this in 10 different bugs to just have them closed as invalid. [digikam] [Bug 297922] THUMBDB : different database locations for thumbnails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297922 --- Comment #12 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- Maik, Warning: the FreeDesktop standard do not support PGF. Only PNG. If you use it you will explode the home directory. Also, with DK, if you store thumbs as freedesktop, the way to show items from disconnected removable media will not be possible. This is why FreeDesktop is only used in Showfoto, because it do not use a database. Q: 1/ It's not possible to mix a local and a remote DB, first one for thumbs, second one for the rest of data ? 2/ You said that thumbs data take a while to transfert through the network with a remote database. What's about face recognition histogram, and similarity fingerprints ? there are also non negligible sizes... The problem will be the same, at least to register data and to perform searches. 3/ Why not to use a local database as cache to host all data and to sync with a remote one when time permit ? [krita] [Bug 397897] What has changed in the Krita Appimage file format?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397897 --- Comment #3 from Avelino De Sabbata --- Thanks mvowada, problem solved, but I do not understand how! I have followed the steps you suggested and all versions of Appimage files have worked correctly. I then put back in their place (with the correct names) the folder $HOME/.local/share/krita/ and the file $HOME/.config/kritarc with my configurations (Workspaces, paintoppresets, brush...) that I had previously renamed and the Appimage files again work!!! I do not understand what could have happened. Anyway ... everything well that ends well! [Akonadi] [Bug 396573] Akonadi is utterly broken for an IMAP account since 5.8.2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396573 --- Comment #5 from Martin Ottmar --- I'm pretty sure, I've tried all three interesting methods ("Čistý text", "PLAIN" and "LOGIN") for all encryption methods (None, SSL/TLS and STARTTLS). And the PLAIN method was the preferred one. No any combination is working now, with the new akonadi 18.08/5.9.0 (Good news everyone, the google account is broken now! :-D ). I looks like any combination I choose is ignored completely, and it uses the same default with the same result. BTW: What is the difference between methods "Čistý text" and "PLAIN", if any? If I try to set STARTTLS/PLAIN (None/PLAIN / STARTTLS/PLAIN) and then I drop the mentioned iptables output rule, and to renew the incoming manually, the follow mouse policy method makes the desktop unusable, and the network traffic skyrockets immediately. Sometimes, within this hell, I'm able to see the strange window mentioned above for a moment, but it disappears immediately. [k3b] [Bug 397930] New: faulty changing temporary folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397930 Bug ID: 397930 Summary: faulty changing temporary folder Product: k3b Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Burning/Hardware Assignee: k...@kde.org Reporter: gabriele.ci...@gmail.com CC: mich...@jabster.pl, tr...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- hello I need of a blueray burner so I've decided to use your software because it is the only program I believe It'is one of the most under Linux (Ubuntu) which burn CDs and DVDs without problem. Unfortunately I believe there is a problem with tmp dir that creates some problems burning blueray. I'll explain you: To burn a blueray (for example only data) we need about 25Gb of hdd space and k3b needs to write the cache in a tmp dir (through genisoimage). Unfortunately my partition of HDD where is installed linux (and, I believe the most of, partitions of people) has not enough free space, so I specified a different folder in another HDD through the preferences section of K3b, but It doesen't work: K3b said "not enough space on temp dir" (I've only 5 Gb free space on default /tmp). So I tried to change temp, tmp, tmpdir enviroment variable without success. I think it is a problem related to genisoimage which tries to write iso on tmp default dir also if we've changed temp folder in preferences menu of k3b. I think that it is unthinkable to move tmp folder to another partition/HDD only for a program... Any suggestions ? It this a bug ? My k3b version is: 2.0.3 running on Ubuntu 16.04.5 64bit; kernel 4.4.0-133 thank you -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kstars] [Bug 397650] Flats creation fails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397650 --- Comment #14 from Wolfgang Reissenberger --- I am still searching for the best way to restructure it. Maybe a very helpful first step is simply changing the method names to be more meaningful: processPreCaptureCalibrationStage() --> prepareEquipment() This method prepares the equipment for capturing the frames. For lights, it opens the dust cap and turns off the light. For others, it closes the dust cap, parks the scope etc. processPostCaptureCalibrationStage() --> verifyCalibration() This method more or less checks for flats, whether the ADU of the current image is in the expected range. If yes, it changes turns the preview mode off and starts the next capture. Otherwise, it determines a new exposure time and generates a new preview. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397934 Bug ID: 397934 Summary: Implement optional flag to allow samba/vmware shared folders to access Vaults (-o allow_other mount option) Product: Plasma Vault Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ivan.cu...@kde.org Reporter: karsten.fleisc...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Hi, I frequently access files in my home dir from within a virtual machine (vmware) using their built-in "shared folders" mechanism. For reasons I never fully understood one has to mount encfs shares with the "-o allow_other" switch to be able to access a mounted encfs share this way. It would be cool if there is a flag/switch on the configuration of a Vault to pass this mount option to the underlying encfs call. Right now I have to manually mount the Vault from the command line rather than using the more convenient click on the Plasma interface. Thanks already for the nice work on this feature, very much appreciated. Ciao Karsten -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 397801] [PATCH] File modula-2.xml does not actually represent Modula-2
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397801 --- Comment #7 from trijez...@gmail.com --- I have added the license field in the language tag in all three xml files. https://github.com/trijezdci/M2-Syntax-Colour/commit/91dddc4e20d2b7de6fb9b416d0b9532b5beddc4c I have also changed the mime type from x-modula-2 to x-modula2 as I think the former is incorrect. On my system the registered mime type for Modula-2 is x-modula2 and the Pygments plugin also has x-modula2. I have asked a friend to check on his system and there, too, the mime type was x-modula2. Looking at your list of xml files for syntax highlighting profiles, other than Modula-2, there are eight other instances of languages with a hyphen in the name: ANS-Forth94 => ansforth94.xml : mimetype="" B-Method => bmethod.xml : mimetype absent Component-Pascal => component-pascal.xml : mimetype="text/x-component-pascal" MS-DOS Batch => dosbat.xml : mimetype="application/x-dos" G-Code => gcode.xml : mimetype="text/ngc" Objective-C => objectivec.xml : mimetype="text/x-objc-src;text/x-c-hdr" Objective-C++ => objectivecpp.xml : mimetype="text/x-objcpp-src;text/x-c-hdr" POC-Ray => povray.xml : mimetype="text/x-povray-script;text/x-povray-include" Of these, six have mimetypes, five of those drop the hypen in the mimetype, only one preserves it. Component-Pascal appears to be the outlier. I therefore suggest we drop the hyphen in the mimetype of Modula-2 as I have (tentatively) done in the latest commit. If you see any issue with this, please let me know and I will put the hyphen back in. One could of course argue that if the hyphen is dropped in the mimetype, then it should also be dropped in the filename to be consistent. The reason, I kept the hyphen in the filename is because when I changed this, Kate did not override the old incorrect Modula-2 xml entry with the replacement, but it showed the old one in addition to the new ones in the language menu. So, I had to keep the filename the same to override the old one. Since there are already Kate installations our there which were shipped with this file, I do not see how the old one could be overridden by the new one without keeping the same filename. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The reason, > I kept the hyphen in the filename is because when I changed this, Kate did > not override the old incorrect Modula-2 xml entry with the replacement, but > it showed the old one in addition to the new ones in the language menu. So, > I had to keep the filename the same to override the old one. > > Since there are already Kate installations our there which were shipped with > this file, I do not see how the old one could be overridden by the new one > without keeping the same filename. Perhaps I should have mentioned that the old Modula-2 entry is remembered by Kate even though there is NO xml file for it on my system. In fact, the syntax directory at /usr/share/org.kde.syntax-highlighting/syntax was empty when I started working on this, now there are only the three files I made in it.
