Can this behavior be changed so that these don't need to be pre-existing?

That would be great since then icons would work without having to exist the
session beforehand.

It sound like a crash in face engine, but not sure.

We need a GDB backtrace. You can run the AppImage bundle in GDB with the
"debug" option to pass on command line.

Hi Avelino, I just downloaded a fresh copy of a nightly build Appimage
(4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 95e1b63)) on Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and it works well. In
your case, I would try to:

1. close all Krita instances (if open),
2. rename the directory: $HOME/.local/share/krita/ and the file:
$HOME/.config/kritarc,
3. download the Appimage file again (check thet the download doesn't fail)
4. assign execute permissions to the Appimage file (I usually right click
the Appimage and check the Execute check-box),
5. double click on the Appimage file to start Krita.

Suddenly the "kcm" element cannot be accessed anymore, and as such
kcm.lookAndFeelModel is undefined and the list turns empty, and also methods

Hi Christoph.
I have no idea to which software components each thing relates to, to me it all
looks like "System Tray Widget".
I couldn't even find a generic "Plasma Widgets" project in here:
https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi since it has over a hundred categories.
Please let me know it there is a better category or way to report this.

I am not disposed to split this in 10 different bugs to just have them closed
as invalid. I am willing to help and interested in seeing this fixed for me and
everyone, but I'd rather not loose my time.

[digikam] [Bug 297922] THUMBDB : different database locations for thumbnails

2018-08-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297922

--- Comment #12 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com ---
Maik,

Warning: the FreeDesktop standard do not support PGF. Only PNG. If you use it
you will explode the home directory.

Also, with DK, if you store thumbs as freedesktop, the way to show items from
disconnected removable media will not be possible.

This is why FreeDesktop is only used in Showfoto, because it do not use a
database.

Q: 1/ It's not possible to mix a local and a remote DB, first one for thumbs,
second one for the rest of data ?

2/ You said that thumbs data take a while to transfert through the network with
a remote database. What's about face recognition histogram, and similarity
fingerprints ? there are also non negligible sizes... The problem will be the
same, at least to register data and to perform searches.

3/ Why not to use a local database as cache to host all data and to sync with a
remote one when time permit ?

Hello,

I have a problem with my keyboard when I change the layout from default
configuration to another one, French latin-9 in my case.

>From that moment the keyboard stopped working in some applications randomly, in
the configuration tool of KDE for instance. The only way to get my keyboard
back is to go back to default settings and restart X. In some other application
the keyboard works very well.

It's totally random, at one try I got Teamviewer keyboard down and the other
try (after going back to default and re-changing the layout) it's Firefox for
instance.

I have this problem with all my computers.

Thank you for your help,
Hope I classify this bug well,
Regards

The settings in systemsettings are for the user. What you set in ubiquity is
for the actual system as whole. If you have nothing set for the user
specifically the setting set by ubiquity is used. The language list being empty
simply means there is no user specific setting.

[skrooge] [Bug 397611] [ERR-5]: Format de date non pris en charge importation boobank

chos...@laposte.net changed:

Bonjour,

à l'usage, je me rends compte que la commande
weboob(,,|grep -v "Not available")

id;url;date;rdate;vdate;type;raw;category;label;amount;card;commission;original_amount;original_currency;country;investments
@bp;Not loaded;2018-08-13;Not loaded;Not loaded;2;PRELEVEMENT DE xxx REF :
10/10 COTISATION SYNDICALE 10/10 GRE IDENT : FRxxx;PRELEVEMENT
DE;PRELEVEMENT DE REF : 10/10 COTISATION SYNDICALE 10/10 GRE IDENT :
FRxxx;-22.00;Not loaded;Not loaded;Not loaded;Not loaded;Not loaded;[]

[krita] [Bug 397897] What has changed in the Krita Appimage file format?

2018-08-27 Thread Avelino De Sabbata
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397897

--- Comment #3 from Avelino De Sabbata ---
Thanks mvowada, problem solved, but I do not understand how!

I have followed the steps you suggested and all versions of Appimage files have
worked correctly.

I then put back in their place (with the correct names) the folder
$HOME/.local/share/krita/ and the file $HOME/.config/kritarc with my
configurations (Workspaces, paintoppresets, brush...) that I had previously
renamed and the Appimage files again work!!!

I do not understand what could have happened. Anyway ... everything well that
ends well!

[kde] [Bug 397921] New: lots of functions missing after update

2018-08-27 Thread Hans-J . Ullrich
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397921

Bug ID: 397921
Summary: lots of functions missing after update
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: hans.ullr...@loop.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Dear maintainers,

after an upgrade of kde, there have several big issues appeared. Sadly I cannot
tell which library or package is responsible. The list of isssues:

1. missing weather widget (appeared)
2. missing application-buttons in taskbar (for starting apps)
3. missing status icons in taskbar (for kmail, wlan and so on)
4. right mouse click in desktop not working (so impossible to change the
desktop and change the taskbar). Desktop is locked, so also desktop not
unlockable.

I suppose, you know better, which library is responsible for that. Please let
me know, so that I can switch back to the older one until this big bug is
fixed.

Please note: This behaviour appears on a 32-bit (i386) system!

Thank yopu very much for any help!

Best regards

Hans-J. Ullrich

Hi Jens,

currently, only few similarity values are really stored in database. This was
not possible before 6.0.0 beta, as the database structure did not allow this
without really nasty constructions. Especially the similarities used by the
duplicates search are not stored easily extractible. To implement your wish,
some (not minor) work has to be done on the HaarIface. Sadly, I did not have
much time lately. I'll try to get some time free to prepare a better use of the
new similarity database. But this will probably not be part of the final 6.0.0
release.

Mario

I do not really understand their report, it may also be because of my English,
but think to know what it is about. I think it's not the right way, the tree
view and the icon view should handle such data sets. We have also made some
progress in the last few days. The start of digiKam could be shortened from
1:30 minutes to 20 seconds with a test collection of 11000 albums.

Update 2018-08-27
Error is obviously not created by KMyMoney but by the fact that the share is
mounted through gigolo/gvfs-mount which latter has been marked as "deprecated"
in Ubuntu 18.04. When Windows share is mounted using mount cifs, KMyMoney
works without problems.
Will close this case.

print-manager manages printers and it's jobs, the print dialog which is the
component that should load printer settings comes from Qt, so you should report

"KWIN ONECE AGAIN"
1) Open many programs
2) Run left "hot corner"
3) Close all programs and leave one open.
4) When only one program is open you are not switched automaticly to your panel

It looks very not natural and it should be reported as bug i think

[Akonadi] [Bug 396573] Akonadi is utterly broken for an IMAP account since 5.8.2

2018-08-27 Thread Martin Ottmar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396573

I'm pretty sure, I've tried all three interesting methods ("Čistý text",
"PLAIN" and "LOGIN") for all encryption methods (None, SSL/TLS and STARTTLS).
And the PLAIN method was the preferred one. No any combination is working now,
with the new akonadi 18.08/5.9.0 (Good news everyone, the google account is
broken now! :-D ). I looks like any combination I choose is ignored completely,
and it uses the same default with the same result.

BTW: What is the difference between methods "Čistý text" and "PLAIN", if any?

If I try to set STARTTLS/PLAIN (None/PLAIN / STARTTLS/PLAIN) and then I drop
the mentioned iptables output rule, and to renew the incoming manually, the
follow mouse policy method makes the desktop unusable, and the network traffic
skyrockets immediately. Sometimes, within this hell, I'm able to see the
strange window mentioned above for a moment, but it disappears immediately.

The following is from the akonadi console:

[k3b] [Bug 397930] New: faulty changing temporary folder

2018-08-27 Thread gabriele . ciuti

Bug ID: 397930
   Summary: faulty changing temporary folder
   Product: k3b
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Burning/Hardware

  Target Milestone: ---

hello

I need of a blueray burner so I've decided to use your software because it is
the only program I believe It'is one of the most under Linux (Ubuntu) which
burn CDs and DVDs without problem.
Unfortunately I believe there is a problem with tmp dir that creates some
problems burning blueray.
I'll explain you:
To burn a blueray (for example only data) we need about 25Gb of hdd space and
k3b needs to write the cache in a tmp dir (through genisoimage). Unfortunately
my partition of HDD where is installed linux (and, I believe the most of,
partitions of people) has not enough free space, so I specified a different
folder in another HDD through the preferences section of K3b, but It doesen't
work: K3b said "not enough space on temp dir" (I've only 5 Gb free space on
default /tmp). So I tried to change temp, tmp, tmpdir enviroment variable
without success. I think it is a problem related to genisoimage which tries to
write iso on tmp default dir also if we've changed temp folder in preferences
menu of k3b. I think that it is unthinkable to move tmp folder to another
partition/HDD only for a program...

Any suggestions ?
It this a bug ?

My k3b version is: 2.0.3 running on Ubuntu 16.04.5 64bit; kernel 4.4.0-133

thank you

While drawing a selection with bezier selection, it is not possible to hold the
shift key and add to the selection like other selection tools.
While Holding shift and drawing a bezier curve the tool gets deactivated when
you click the second node.

To reproduce :

1. Open a new document

2. Draw a selection with bezier selection tool

3. Now hold shift and try to draw a new selection to add to the previous
selection

The result is when you click to add the second node, the tool gets deactivated
and the first node is gone.

Reopening this issue. Please see:
flatpak/flatpak#2012

In short, Flatpak stopped inheriting permission requests from the runtime. The
apps need to list the permissions themselves.

Perhaps adding "--talk-name=com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar", to "finish-args"
and rebuilding will be enough (not sure about '--filesytem'... )

I am looking into this right now and might have a solution to at least provide
a link to a sha256 sum, as long as they get created and exist alongside the
provided binaries.

This will still require the packagers to create an sha256 sum when they create
their binaries, and to upload them along with the binaries.

[kstars] [Bug 397650] Flats creation fails

2018-08-27 Thread Wolfgang Reissenberger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397650

I am still searching for the best way to restructure it. Maybe a very helpful
first step is simply changing the method names to be more meaningful:

processPreCaptureCalibrationStage() --> prepareEquipment()
This method prepares the equipment for capturing the frames. For lights, it
opens the dust cap and turns off the light. For others, it closes the dust cap,
parks the scope etc.

processPostCaptureCalibrationStage() --> verifyCalibration()
This method more or less checks for flats, whether the ADU of the current image
is in the expected range. If yes, it changes turns the preview mode off and
starts the next capture. Otherwise, it determines a new exposure time and
generates a new preview.

Does this make sense?

Hi,

I frequently access files in my home dir from within a virtual machine (vmware)
using their built-in "shared folders" mechanism. For reasons I never fully
understood one has to mount encfs shares with the "-o allow_other" switch to be
able to access a mounted encfs share this way.

It would be cool if there is a flag/switch on the configuration of a Vault to
pass this mount option to the underlying encfs call. Right now I have to
manually mount the Vault from the command line rather than using the more
convenient click on the Plasma interface.

Thanks already for the nice work on this feature, very much appreciated.

Ciao Karsten

On a different system that was recently updated, I find that the functionality

on the computer where I'm having the problem. So I wonder if I just need to
install that service, but I can't find any information on how to do that.

[kmail2] [Bug 397935] New: kmail picking wrong distribution list

2018-08-27 Thread Roger Noble

Bug ID: 397935
Summary: kmail picking wrong distribution list
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.8.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rnbzi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I have two email distribution lists, A and B. On selecting A in the recipient
field I found that the email had in fact gone to the list of addresses held in
B. I tried deleting A and re-creating it - the email then correctly went to the
list of addresses in A; however on trying to send to B the email went to the
list in A.

It appears that when sending to any distribution list the emails go to the
addresses held in the last created distribution list, irrespective of the one
actually selected. The problem is repeatable.

Both of the distribution lists look correct in Contacts.

[kate] [Bug 397801] [PATCH] File modula-2.xml does not actually represent Modula-2

2018-08-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397801

I have added the license field in the language tag in all three xml files.

https://github.com/trijezdci/M2-Syntax-Colour/commit/91dddc4e20d2b7de6fb9b416d0b9532b5beddc4c

I have also changed the mime type from x-modula-2 to x-modula2 as I think the
former is incorrect. On my system the registered mime type for Modula-2 is
x-modula2 and the Pygments plugin also has x-modula2. I have asked a friend to
check on his system and there, too, the mime type was x-modula2.

Looking at your list of xml files for syntax highlighting profiles, other than
Modula-2, there are eight other instances of languages with a hyphen in the
name:

ANS-Forth94 => ansforth94.xml : mimetype=""
B-Method => bmethod.xml : mimetype absent
Component-Pascal => component-pascal.xml : mimetype="text/x-component-pascal"
MS-DOS Batch => dosbat.xml : mimetype="application/x-dos"
G-Code => gcode.xml : mimetype="text/ngc"
Objective-C => objectivec.xml : mimetype="text/x-objc-src;text/x-c-hdr"
Objective-C++ => objectivecpp.xml : mimetype="text/x-objcpp-src;text/x-c-hdr"
POC-Ray => povray.xml : mimetype="text/x-povray-script;text/x-povray-include"

Of these, six have mimetypes, five of those drop the hypen in the mimetype,
only one preserves it. Component-Pascal appears to be the outlier.

I therefore suggest we drop the hyphen in the mimetype of Modula-2 as I have
(tentatively) done in the latest commit. If you see any issue with this, please
let me know and I will put the hyphen back in.

One could of course argue that if the hyphen is dropped in the mimetype, then
it should also be dropped in the filename to be consistent. The reason, I kept
the hyphen in the filename is because when I changed this, Kate did not
override the old incorrect Modula-2 xml entry with the replacement, but it
showed the old one in addition to the new ones in the language menu. So, I had
to keep the filename the same to override the old one.

Since there are already Kate installations our there which were shipped with
this file, I do not see how the old one could be overridden by the new one
without keeping the same filename.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that the old Modula-2 entry is remembered by
Kate even though there is NO xml file for it on my system. In fact, the syntax
directory at /usr/share/org.kde.syntax-highlighting/syntax was empty when I
started working on this, now there are only the three files I made in it. Yet,
Kate remembers the old one when I change the filename.

[kate] [Bug 397936] New: Kate reports errors for syntax xml file but NO DETAILS

2018-08-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397936

Bug ID: 397936
Summary: Kate reports errors for syntax xml file but NO DETAILS
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: syntax
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: trijez...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I have made a new syntax highlighting profile xml file. When opening a file
with the associated file extension, Kate opens a dialog box reporting
"warning(s) and/or error(s)" and displays a button to click on for details.
When I click that button, it opens another dialog box, but the details are
empty.

I thoroughly checked the xml file and cannot find anything wrong with it. I
checked that every list name is actually referenced, that every context
referenced is actually defined, that every attribute referenced actually has a
style entry. I also checked that no regex shadows that of another rule.

Besides, everything works as intended. I used xmllint to check the file and it
did not report any warnings nor errors. However, when I use the --valid switch,
xmllint reports that the language.dtd that ships with Kate has a "content
error":

$ xmllint --valid gll.xmllanguage.dtd:1: parser error : Content error in the
external subset

I wonder if what's happening is that the disk isn't mounted yet when Plasma
goes to read the file on it, so the file can't be found, and Plasma reverts to
the default wallpaper.

Is the other disk internal or external? Does it auto-mount, or only mount when
you access it? What's the filesystem? EXT4, BTRFS, NTFS, etc?
