This issue will be fixed in Plasma 5.7. I couldn't push it to Plasma 5.6.x
because it introduces a dependency on newest KDE Frameworks.

[konsole] [Bug 364660] New: coloured ls command doesn't have different colours for directories and files in "Solarized Dark" theme

2016-06-23 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364660

Bug ID: 364660
Summary: coloured ls command doesn't have different colours for
directories and files in "Solarized Dark" theme
   Product: konsole
   Version: 15.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rschir...@yahoo.com

If you select the "Solarized Dark" theme or the "Solarized Light" one, when you
do `ls --color` all files are displayed pretty much with the same color, even
if they are directories or normal files. Other commands like `grep --color
PATTERN files` seem to work and they are correctly coloured.

I tried this on OpenSUSE Leap, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and KUbuntu 16.04 (and with
the PPA to have an updated KDE version), all with the same result. The only
distro where the Solarized them works well is Fedora 23 KDE.

Looking at their package, there is this patch
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/konsole5.git/tree/konsole-15.12.3-xterm-256color.patch
but even setting that variable didn't solve the issue. I believe Fedora is
working well because they applied also some patches to the coreutils package
(for example
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/coreutils.git/tree/coreutils-8.25-DIR_COLORS.patch,
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/coreutils.git/tree/coreutils-8.5-dircolors.patch,
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/coreutils.git/tree/coreutils-colorls.sh).

I think it would be nice having the right colours for `ls --color` even without
changing the colors of ls.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Goto Settings > Edit Current Profile > Appearance
2. Select Solarized Dark theme > Apply > Ok
3. Execute `ls --color /etc`

Actual Results:
Directories and normal files in /etc are all displayed with the same color and
regular style

Expected Results:
Directories should have a different colour, to make it easier distinguish dirs
and files.

[plasmashell] [Bug 364661] New: Can no longer drag kickoff search results when adding application launch icons to desktop

2016-06-23 Thread Steve Phelps via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364661

Bug ID: 364661
Summary: Can no longer drag kickoff search results when adding
application launch icons to desktop
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: phelps...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

When configuring desktop widgets, one can normally drag application icons from
Kicker onto the desktop. When navigating the applications menu, this works as
expected. However, if the user searches for an application using Kickoff, and
then attempts to drag the same application icon onto the desktop, this does not
work. This used to work in KDE 4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unlock desktop widgets
2. Search for an application, e.g. Dolphin, in the Kickoff launcher
3. Drag the Dolphin icon onto the desktop

Actual Results:
The Dolphin icon cannot be dragged

Expected Results:
The application icon should be draggable, regardless of whether it appears as a
result of navigating through the application menus, or whether it appears
because it has been searched.

Thanks for attaching the mail. For me it looks like it is is exactly the same

I have tested it with 5.2.1 and can confirm, that kmail doesn't detect it as

messsge and asks for the password to decrypt. So with KDE Application 16.08 the

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 364662] New: Opening URLs is very slow or aborted completely

2016-06-23 Thread Bzzz via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364662

Bug ID: 364662
Summary: Opening URLs is very slow or aborted completely
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 5.22.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: b...@gmx.net
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org

Clicking links in the RSS reader quiterss results in a massive delay since
upgrading KDE from standard Ubuntu Xenial packages to the KDE PPA ones (kio
5.22.0-0ubuntu1~ubuntu16.04~ppa1). It can take 1-2 minutes until something
happens, either all clicked addresses in that time frame open in bulk (in
Firefox), which means there is the chance that some "not responding" error
occurs in FF because of everything happening at once, or a popup titled "Error
-- KIO Client" appears which says "Connection to host XYZ is broken". In both
cases the opened links are lost and one has to remember what they did two
minutes ago.
This does not happen for all applications (in case you want me to open a
quiterss bug): I've tested the konsole command
xdg-open 'https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=289&t=124392&p=327270#p327270'
from bug 342677, which works exactly the same. It took around 75 seconds to
open and the konsole freezes during that time. However, clicking stuff in mails
in thunderbird does somehow bypass this problem and everything is opened
instantly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click link in certain applications, e.g. xdg-open
'https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=289&t=124392&p=327270#p327270' or some
news feed in quiterss
2. Wait 1-2 minutes

Actual Results:
3. link opens in firefox or error message from "KIO Client" pops up

Expected Results:
2. Instant opening of the link
3. Everyone is happy because the system responds in an instant, nothing is lost
during waiting time

As the popup does not contain the full URL but just the host, the page clicked
cannot be retrieved in case an error occurs. Therefore I chose "Grave", as
waiting up to 2 minutes PER CLICK (or losing stuff on the way) isn't
acceptable.
Note that this is an Ubuntu Xenial LTS installation that doesn't get rebooted
that often, current uptime is 17d.

there is a massive delay (75s in both tries) between executing the command
mentioned in the initial post and the browser receiving the URL and loading it.

[dolphin] [Bug 364477] Preview for text files doesn't show correct icon for launcher files

2016-06-23 Thread Janet via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364477

Created attachment 99666
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=99666&action=edit
screenshot of url.desktop with disabled previews

When i turn off the preview the correct icon, the html one, is shown. Preview
thumbnails other than desktop-files show the correct icon in the thumbnail.

Bug 220330 references the same issue, but for KDE SC 4. This should be handled
as a duplicate?

I don't care if the desktop-files are shown as text previews or not when text
preview is enabled, it just should be guaranteed that the icon of the
desktop-file (application icon or in case of URL the default URL icon) is used
with enabled preview for text files, either the icon without preview or the
correct icon in the thumbnail preview.

An option (include/exclude desktop-files) for the text file preview would be
nice (I know devs don't like that ;) ) but even in that case the icon (solo or
inside thumbnail) should be correct.

[krita] [Bug 364664] New: "Internal Error" when I try to open a .psd containing animation frames.

2016-06-23 Thread ChristianB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364664

Bug ID: 364664
Summary: "Internal Error" when I try to open a .psd containing
animation frames.
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Animation
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: christianjohnbun...@gmail.com

I started making an animation using Krita 3.0's animation feature. Saved the
file, then tried to reopen it later: wouldn't open and I got an "internal
error" message as the reason. Tried repeatedly to reopen the file in Krita,
then in Photoshop CC, then Manga Studio 5.0 Ex, but won't open anywhere now.
Can't access my work at all now.

BTW. I looked up "internal error" in previous bug threads for Krita. Didn't
find anything related to animation but did find another "internal error"
related issue; this suggested that turning OpenGL on and off might help. Tried
this. Didn't work. Would appreciate your help! Thanks so much!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to open PSD with Krita animation frames.
2. Delay, Krita slows down.
3. Get a message: "could not open file... reason: internal error."

Actual Results:
Couldn't open file.

Expected Results:
Opened the file and allowed me to continue working on the animation.

Am working on a Pro Surface 3. Not sure if that helps you.

Hm, saving an animation to PSD certainly isn't supported -- Krita's and
Photoshop's animation approach is way too different. But we should warn the
user and not create a broken PSD file, of course. Could you make the original
.kra and broken .psd file available for debugging?

Eek, on re-reading I get the impression that you didn't save as .kra. PSD is
not suitable as a working format for Krita because it doesn't support all of

The point would be to be actually better than photoshop. Especially supporting
layers with frames is a very valuable addition. The spriter exporter can be
used with other software - not just spriter. It can be used to export the body
part images and get them in spine or creature2d or even godot. It can be used
to export tileset tiles rather than body parts. It is very versatile.

Workaround in apache / davical: enable rewrite module and include something
like this

  RewriteEngine On
  RewriteRule ^(.*\.[iv]cs)/$ $1 [L,PT]

in your definition. This removes a trailing / from URLs ending in
.ics/ and .vcs/.

Proper fix would be to find out why in some cases a / is appended to the URL.

[Akonadi] [Bug 364114] moving a folder within one maildir resource is extremely slow and inefficient

2016-06-23 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364114

Today I tried to be clever:

- I just stopped Akonadi and waited till it was gone (including mysqld
process).
- Then I manually moved several large folders with LKML mails, one with 26+
mails within the maildir to another directory within the very same local
folders resource, a directory/folder I use for archival purpose

But again, KMail is unresponsive when I ask it to display the contents of a
mail. It can display the list of mails that a folder contains, but displaying a
mail content does not work. While it is busy in the background with about
50-120% cpu usage for the mysqld process and about 120-140 MiB – in words more
than hundred MiB – of writes to the dual SSD BTRFS RAID 1 every 10 seconds.

So for a simple action of moving a folder it creates write I/Os in excess of
several GiB *easily*. Sorry, but this is just broke in my eyes.

[Akonadi] [Bug 364114] moving a folder within one maildir resource is extremely slow and inefficient

2016-06-23 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364114

And yeah, I bet I know what its doing: Its removing all the stale mails entries
from the mysqld database and then adding them again at the new location. Also
KMail still showed the folders at their old location for minutes. Now it
doesn´t display them there anymore, but in the new location they have no unread
mail count, maybe it indexes those folders then.

Honestly I´d expect Akonadi to reference the folder a mail is in by some *id*.
And if I ask to move it elsewhere, it notes that it is elsewhere now in some
mail folder table and *is* done with it.

Or in whatever other way: As a user I expect a folder move operation to be
*instant* or *almost* instant. And cause *next* to no disk I/O at all.

Okay, it took about 10 minutes and several GiB of disk traffic, but it seems it
is now done. Folders at their new location do not yet display amount of unread
mails and I expect Akonadi to create even more I/O and CPU usage when I click
on a folder there, so for now I just won´t and call it a day.

[Akonadi] [Bug 364114] moving a folder within one maildir resource is extremely slow and inefficient

2016-06-23 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364114

I see how it is challenging to solve this within current Akonadi design. If
using a folder ID that is just stored within the database, it won´t detect
manual moves. But well, it could write a .folderinfo file into each folder
containing a unique hash of the folder. It would then store in database folder
xyz has this internal Akonadi ID and this hash and is currently located at this
path.

I wonder whether this changes the consequence of a database loss, but I don´t
think so, I think it can even provide a path to make filter handling much more
robust. If the filter rules stores the hash of the folder, akonadi mailfilter
agent can ask Akonadi about the internal database ID for the folder and thus as
long as the user does not remove the .folderinfo or whatever it is called file
from the folder, the filter rules would still work after a complete database
loss. (Of course that doesn´t solve this issue for IMAP accounts, but it would
be a start.)

For the individual mail items in the database Akonadi can still use an internal
ID, cause on database loss, this information is lost as well, so it will have
to reindex all the folders anyway.

The real problem is, that Albums.albumRoot has to be set to a value that
doesn't exists in AlbumRoots. The two options I see for solving this:

1) working with a fake album in AlbumRoots, so all albums that should be
deleted can be set to this fake album

2) disable foreign key checks for this operation. This has to be done in a
generic way disableForeignKeyCheck()/enableForeignKeyCheck() that implements
the specific part for every DBMS
for MySQL: "SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0/1;"
for sqlite: " PRAGMA foreign_keys = OFF/ON;"

I seem to have mentioned "right-aligned" in the OP by mistake, that should read
"right-directionality". This issue is about _directionality_.

[umbrello] [Bug 364667] New: Diagram tabs not reopened

2016-06-23 Thread Mats Webjörn via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364667

Bug ID: 364667
   Summary: Diagram tabs not reopened
   Product: umbrello
   Version: 2.13.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: umbrello-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: mats.webj...@netinsight.net

When a projet containing diagrams on several tabs is reopened, then only two
tabs are restored; The last one used plus the one created first. The others can
be seen if Diagram / Show / is clicked on. It is tedious to have
to reactivate almost all tabs every time a diagram is opened.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a .cpp and .hpp file with at least 4 classes
2. Import code using "Import Code Wizard"
3. Put each class on a separate Class Diagram tab
4. Close and reopen projekt

Actual Results:
Notice how only the first tab and the last active tab is restored

Expected Results:
 All diagram tabs restored

Yeah, the IMAP server violates RFC 3501 here. Looking at your e-mail address,
it's probably yandex.ru, which means that it's a custom hand-crafted solution
AFAIK. There's nothing that we can do here, you should contact their user
support and report this as a bug.

[kmymoney4] [Bug 364668] New: erasing a category that has been specified to a payee

2016-06-23 Thread Hugo via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364668

Bug ID: 364668
Summary: erasing a category that has been specified to a payee
   Product: kmymoney4
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: hugoborr...@gmail.com

When a payee is related to a category (wich is very handy), you cannot delete
this category any more : you must first change the payee(s) preferences.

Now if you have a lot of payees and a bunch of categories to delete, this can
take some time to fix one by one.

It would be very pleasant to change all related payees to another categorie on
a single right click ! Or at least to have a list of all payees related to this
category.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.attribute a category to a payee
2.try to erase the category
3.

Actual Results:
Impossible to erase AND no message tells you why.

Expected Results:
1. a message explaining what to do
2. a list of all payees related to the category
3. the ability to change all payees to another category

Johannes,

Thanks to investiguate. Take a look to this entry :

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237878

Which go to the opposite way about foreign keys support.

Note : i prefer solution 2/ instead fake album way.

[digikam] [Bug 363697] Album visible even after deletion

2016-06-23 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363697

Johannes,

Your second solution seems to fit here. Temporary disabling referential
constraints might work 'cause we've parent-child tables.

In the function makeStaleAlbum(), there's an update query which doesn't work.
(Reason why Albums table is not updated)
We could use:
//
SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 0;
UPDATE.
SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS = 1;
//
I think this should work...

Same here, except I can see photos and videos on my SD card in a folder named
"Camera pictures(SD card 2)". I can't see anything else on the SD Card. There
are two folders named "SD card" and "SD card 2", but they are seemingly empty.
I can see the contents of my phone in a folder named "Internal storage".

When I right-click on a file in Dophin, I get the option "Send to [phone] via
KDE connect". When I click on on it, the file starts transferring immediately,
without other choices. It then lands up in a folder "kdeconnect" on the
internal storage. I'd like the option of transferring it to the SD card.

My set-up is Fedora 23 and a Hisence Pureshot phone running Android 5.0.2.

Thanks for a great program!

[plasmashell] [Bug 364673] New: Widget explorer flickers between opaque and semi-transparent when dragging a widget over it

2016-06-23 Thread Thomas Pfeiffer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364673

Bug ID: 364673
Summary: Widget explorer flickers between opaque and
semi-transparent when dragging a widget over it
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.95
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Widget Explorer
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: thomas.pfeif...@kde.org

When dragging a widget over the widget explorer, it's supposed to go
semi-transparent so that one can place a widget under it.
However, when doing so, it flickers between opaque and semi-transparent, and
then goes semi-transparent when you move the widget away from it again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on "Add Widgets"
2. Drag a widget
3. Move the cursor over the widget explorer

Actual Results:
Explorer flickers

Expected Results:
Explorer goes semi-transparent

I can see it both on an AMD GPU and an Intel GPU with 5.6.5 on Manjaro and on
5.6.95 on Neon.

Note, I sent it the SEGV signal to get a dump. Otherwise dolphin just hangs
there. If you open another one, it would be a separate process. Also, the
sockets are not where the second local:// is.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 364678] New: kaddressbook does not sync contacts

2016-06-23 Thread Peter Gückel via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364678

Bug ID: 364678
Summary: kaddressbook does not sync contacts
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org

kaddressbook-15.12.3-1.fc24.x86_64
akonadi-1.13.0-102.fc24.x86_64

I had a contacts vcard file.vcf with all of my contacts. Whenever I made
changes to the information in kaddressbook, the akonadi database was correctly
updated, but the updates were not written to my master file resource! I then
converted the contacts.vcf file to individual vcard4 files, one for each
contact, and made a contacts directory. Again, kaddressbook read all of my
contacts into the akonadi database, but, when making updates to the contact
information, the revised data was not correspondingly updated in my master
vcard file collection.

As a result of this bug, I have irretrievably lost much information.

Why do the updates not get written to the master resources?

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
Edit a contact. Akonadi is updated, but the master file is not. When
transferring the master file to a clean install of fedora or to another distro,
there is data loss.

Expected Results:
My updates to my saved contact information must be preserved!

I am getting the same error. I think we might have the same bug, even if the
symptoms are different. See my bug #364677. It just hangs when I navigate more
than four clicks on a remote system. But if I open file -> new window, I can
get four more clicks before it hanging.

fileSystemFreeSpace() did not call finished() or error()! Please fix the KIO
slave.

If I leave the window open it just keeps printing: log_kio_sftp: special():

The problem is not that the kmahjonggrc file is "too old", but that it
specifies a non-existing Layout_file which causes kmahjongg to enter an endless

Just removing (or correcting) that one line should fix it too.

[ksmserver] [Bug 343518] Plasma doesn't restore everything after a reboot

2016-06-23 Thread Piotr Mierzwinski via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343518

@Wolfgang Bauer
Thanks for explanation.
On begin I can say that happened what I supposed. So today after first login to
Plasma, konsole has not been restored, at all. Maybe this is some bug in
konsole. Yesterday, before shutting down the system I also run okular, and
kate. Today all of them have been restored.

> restoring them should work (or not) the same for both
> But in the end it's the client's (i.e. the application's) job to save its
> state correctly
I know that in the moment of closing application its destructor are calling,
actually QApplication/KApplication. So what is the difference in type of
shutting (by server). When I log off (calling log off in Plasma) or shut down
system (calling "turn of" in Plasma) then shutting should work the same. in
This is my suspicion.
The only one job what can do application in shutting down moment is saving it's
state into some configuration file. Every other actions are managed by
Qt/KF/ksmsever. As I suppose. And this is doing correct for login off and
restart.

For me it should just work for both (konsole and kwrite) the same.
Sorry I repeat my self. Yesterday I reloged couple of times, also I restarted
system. And konsole was restored every time. When yesterday I shut down the
system and run it today, konsole has not been restored. I don't understand
this.
I don't know how exactly Plasma closing/shutting down its session, I suppose is
using some qdbus command (example of shutting down: "qdbus org.kde.ksmserver
/KSMServer logout 0 2 2"). Is this implemented by distribution or in K menu?

And on end. You are comparing two Qt versions. Why openSuse doesn't use the
newest Qt version, only its developers backported some fixes? Maybe in last Qt
still persists some bug related with closing applications.

@Chris
I don't know what situation you meant, saying "konsole never ever get restored
for me."?
If this is just rerun of konsole thats OK. For me either konsole wasn't
restored.
If this is relogin/restart/shut down and run then in my opinion konsole should
be restored every times when Plasma session is starting and proper option is
turned on in Plasma setting (for example: "Restore previous session" in System
settings).

Maybe this is distro related. I don know. :/. I'll try to report it.

For shame.
