[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360489] kscreenlocker suggests running "loginctl unlock-sessions" even though I don't use systemd

There is nothing wrong there. It's a fallback for the case that something is
seriously broken. We improved that experience from black screen to something
which works on 99 % of our users systems. There is no Plasma developer who
doesn't use logind, so it's just not possible for us to support anything else.
We expect the non-logind users to add code for this (which could also be a
dummy loginctl binary which just works the same way). (Similar code was
contributed to support consolekit in kscreenlocker).

>From our side this is a clear wontfix or more a cantfix. Please do not expect
us to go an extramile to support a corner case of the corner case.

[yakuake] [Bug 360499] New: yakuake too small after update and not ajustable

2016-03-14 Thread Ingo Ebel via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360499

Bug ID: 360499
Summary: yakuake too small after update and not ajustable
   Product: yakuake
   Version: 3.0.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: ingo.e...@ingoebel.de

After updating to 3.0.2 on Plasma 5 yakuake is not really usable anymore cause
I can't ajust the width or height anymore. Not with the mouse and not via
context menu.
So the window is too small. I'm using a 4k Screen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Yakuake
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Tried to make it bigger with mouse. Tried to use the context menus.

Expected Results:
Former versions where able to fit on the whole screen and to adjusted with the
mouse.

[kmymoney4] [Bug 360500] New: Unable to enter the same value in the No. field for more than 1 transaction.

2016-03-14 Thread Bob via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360500

Bug ID: 360500
Summary: Unable to enter the same value in the No. field for
more than 1 transaction.
   Product: kmymoney4
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: bo...@yahoo.com

v4.7.2 now requires to enter different values in the No. field for different
transactions.
This is annoying when the No. check field is used for other purposes than
incremental cheque numbers, e.g. method of payment or the date for a deferred
debit card. Now when entering a same value KMM asks whether to increment this
value. If the answer is NO, the field is automatically erased and the
transaction is entered with an empty No. field.
In v4.6.6 I was able to enter the same value in different transactions, thus
when I answered NO the field was not blanked out.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a transaction with "XXX-01" in No. field
2. Enter a new transaction with same "XXX-01" in No. field
3.

Actual Results:
User will not be allowed to validate the 2nd transaction with the same "XXX-01"
No. field.
The No. field will either be erased or set to "XXX-02".

Expected Results:
User should be allowed to enter whatever he likes in the No. field if he
decides not to use this field as an incremental cheque number field. That was
the case in older versions of KMM.

Please leave the options for No. field as they were in v4.6.6.
I couldn't find any workaround to enter different transactions with a same
value in the No. field.

some broken signal/slot connections (e.g. the mentioned slot method does not
exist) which prevents a successful compile of the related patch. It is required

[rkward] [Bug 360350] enhanced context menu for objects

2016-03-14 Thread Jan via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360350

(In reply to Thomas Friedrichsmeier from comment #3)

Thank you for your reply. I'm delighted about your interest.

> I am slightly surprised by your choice of example actions, though: E.g.
> dimensions (rows / columns) is already visible from the tool-tip, when
> hovering the mouse over an object.

You're right. Sometimes "nrow" and "length" return different results so a quick
check via context menu would be useful (for me). Same with "names" and
"colnames".

> Also, the existing "View" action is meant to serve a somewhat similar purpose

"View" isn't a good choice for an overview of large objects. Clicking at the
tab "print(x)" shows "Fetching information. Please wait." for up to a minute.
The command "head" give results much faster.

> I am wondering: Would it make more sense to allow (the same / different?)
> custom areas in the "View" window, in addition to / instead of your
> suggestion?

This is another possibility.
Sometimes the first tab of the "View" window "summary(x)" also needs some time
to be ready (for large objects). So the first tab should have only a limited
amount of information.

Example:
first tab: various
ncol: ...
nrow: ...
length: ...
(Please both nrow and length)
names: ...
colnames: ...
(Please both names and colnames)

second tab: head(x)

third tab: tail(x)

(or head(x) and tail(x) combined in one tab)

fourth tab: summary(x)

fifth tab: print(x)

sixth tab: str(x)

Regards

Jan

Actions in context menu "Create File" and "Create Folder" require ellipsis

Do you use hidpi app scaling? If so, could you try setting the scaling to 1.0?
I'm wondering if your screenshot is a bug that happens with higher scaling.

Then there is nothing we can do; Trust no longer makes or sells or supports
their tablets, so we cannot get test hardware. We might accidentally have fixed
the crash in Krita 3.0 -- you can try a pre-alpha build and see if that works
for you.

[kdevelop] [Bug 360509] New: KDevelop doesn't highlight friend class members

2016-03-14 Thread Pedro Ferreira via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360509

Bug ID: 360509
Summary: KDevelop doesn't highlight friend class members
   Product: kdevelop

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language Support: CPP (Clang-based)
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org

The source was reduced by Milian to:

class LockableHolder
{
friend void swap(LockableHolder a, LockableHolder b)
{
a = b;
}
};

Execution of clang-parser yields:

clang-parser -a /tmp/test.cpp
AST tree successfully generated
ClassDecl (4) | type: "LockableHolder" (105) | display: "LockableHolder" | loc:
/tmp/test.cpp@[(1,1),(7,2)] | isDecl
  UnexposedDecl (1) | loc: /tmp/test.cpp@[(3,5),(6,6)] | isDecl
no problems encountered during parsing

Reproducible: Always

This is likely an upstream issue.

[kdevelop] [Bug 360511] New: clang-parser utility doesn't get standard include files

2016-03-14 Thread Pedro Ferreira via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360511

Bug ID: 360511
Summary: clang-parser utility doesn't get standard include
files
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Language Support: CPP (Clang-based)
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: arkang...@gmail.com

When running the "clang-parser" utility in kdevelop/language/clang/tests, the
include directories are not passed in. Thus, #include for example
causes the parser session to stop.

I hacked it by removing the "nostdinc" from parsersession.cpp, in the "empty
parser session" conditional block, but this might have undesirable
consequences.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Write a simple C++ source with "#include " for example.
A clang-parser execution should provide the "file not found" diagnostic.

Kate doesn't open text file with click. I have to open Kate first and then open

Actually it opened one file but then it couldn't open anymore.

Actually Kate wasn't installed by default with the rest of Plasma 5.6.90. I
installed it manually.

Note: You could work-around by doing:
  KDEV_CLANG_EXTRA_ARGUMENTS="-I /foo" clang-parser ...

But we should indeed allow something as easy as:
  clang-parser -clang-parser-arg1 -clang-parser-arg2 -- -clang-arg1 -clang-arg2
myfile.cpp

(Maybe even by simply setting KDEV_CLANG_EXTRA_ARGUMENTS inside
clang-parser.cpp. Even better would be proper API inside kdev-clang to set the
additional arguments)

For me everything is responsive again, after killing the greeter and unlocking
it. Otherwise I would run an other kind of session.

I'm still don't know the origin of the deadlock. I thought it was related to
DPMS, but locking the screen and running "sleep 10 && xset dpms force off" in
the background doesn't trigger the greeter lockup.
I just know it doesn't always lockup the greeter, but ever after longer
inactivity.

(In reply to Thomas Lübking from comment #30)
> You may safely assume that this is a bug in the greeter or its foundation
> (greeter dysfunctional -> killing. restarted greeter works)
> Common pattern is Gallium/AMD, can you try EGL compositing?

If I switch to EGL, compositing is disabled (according to to the qdbus output).
Doesn't matter if I select OpenGL 2.0 or 3.1. The stripped output from es2_info
(minus stripped extensions) says: 1.5 - not sure if this EGL version is related
to the selected OpenGL version:

EGL_VERSION: 1.5 (DRI2)

GL_VERSION: OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 11.1.2

Thankyou for the report, but unfortunately your backtrace has no debugging
symbols, without those it is rather useless. When submitting crash reports,
please make sure Dr. Konqi gives you at least a 2 star rating, and that you
have debugging symbols installed for Amarok and its dependencies. Please see
also
https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
on how to get a a better backtrace.

FWIW: Dr. Konqi would then also have shown you that this is a known bug

This is purely a nice-to-have thing.

It would be nice if we could have the panel fade-out and fade-in if it's set to
autohide.

The current slide-from-bottom is functionally ok. But it feels old-fashioned.

Correct messagebox for importing iCal/vCal, which appears if kOrganizer is
already running.

This screenshot shows the same dialog with correct buttons. It appears this way
if the kOrganizer is already running when the iCal/vCal file is to be imported.
The buttons read "Merge into existing calendar" and "Import as new calendar".

If the kOrganizer GUI is not yet running while an iCal/vCal import is
attempted, the same message box appears but shows just "Yes" and "No" instead,
while the displayed message is an either/or question.

[krita] [Bug 360516] New: Locked transparency mask position doesn't stay locked while moving parent layer

2016-03-14 Thread Raghavendra kamath via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360516

Bug ID: 360516
Summary: Locked transparency mask position doesn't stay locked
while moving parent layer
   Product: krita
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Layer Stack
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: raghavendr.ra...@gmail.com

If we want to move a layer but not the transparency masks, we often lock the
transparency mask and hide it . but in recent 3.0 alpha git , moving the layer
also moves the locked transparency mask too.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open Krita and create a new document
2.scribble something and make a selection then add a transparency mask, then
lock and hide this transparency mask
3.now move the parent layer , then unhide and unlock the transparency mask

Actual Results:
the transparency mask gets moved even if it is locked down

Expected Results:
the tranparency mask should be intact in same place

(In reply to Steven Roose from comment #3)

> When extracted without "Extract into subfolder", the latter type of archive
> will still appear as if it was extracted into a subfolder, because the "root
> folder" of the archive is the folder where all the files are in.

This is the intended behavior. If the archive has a root folder and if you are
preserving the paths, then the root folder will occur in the extracted path,
because it's just a normal folder.

> But when
> "Extract into subfolder" is enabled, that root folder (which is mostly the
> same as the name of the archive), will appear twice.

This is also intentional, although I'd agree that it doesn't make much sense.

>
> Hopefully you understand what I mean. It's possible that the functions are
> implemented correctly, but just behave different from how all other
> extraction tools I've used before behave. I noticed that because it annoyed
> me, that's the reason I filed this issue.

So, what you really want is the following feature/option: "always discard the
root folder if it has the same name of the archive".
If you can confirm this, I will mark this report as whish instead of bug.

[valgrind] [Bug 360519] New: none/tests/arm64/memory.vgtest might fail with newer gcc

2016-03-14 Thread Mark Wielaard via KDE Bugzilla

gcc
   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.11 SVN
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: m...@redhat.com

The LDR (literal, int reg) testcase take a code label and compare the
instructions around the label with known instructions in the code stream. The
comment says:

// This is a bit tricky. We load the value from just before and
// just after the actual instruction. Because TESTINSN2_hide2
// generates two fixed insns either side of the test insn, these
// should be constant and hence "safe" to check.

However two fixed insns on either side of the checking instruction isn't enough
given that offsets of +/-8 are used, instructions are only 4 wide and the
values loaded are 64bit.

Newer gcc versions would generate different code around the label and cause the
tests to fail,

The proposed solution is to add enough nops around the actual instruction to
really give known expected constant values to check against.

Reproducible: Always

The setting 'highlight trailing spaces' (Editor -> Appearance -> Whitespace
Highlighting) applies to the diff view.

The appearance isn't so conspicuous by default, but you can change the colour
'Tab and Space Markers' to something colourful.

Additionally, setting 'Remove trailing spaces' (Editor -> Open/Save ->
Automatic Cleanups on Save) to an option that isn't "Never" will prevent the
whitespace from existing in the first place.

Ben, that doesn't work, that is the problem. When KMail connects to Courier
IMAP server it simply doesn't expunge deleted messages no matter how you set

Geometry & Access -> "Shortcut"; in the Edit menu there's a text field with a
"Simple Shortcut" button. When I click the button I get a dialog with a
KShortcut widget, the shortcut isn't transfered to the text field in the parent
dialog, however.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click window decoration -> More Actions -> Custom settings for this
program/window
2. Go to the third tab "Geometry & Access"
3. Check "Shortcut"
4. Chose any of the settings in the combobox (eg. "Force")
5. Click "Edit" button next to the text field
6. Click "Simple Shortcut" in the resulting dialog
7. Click the "None" button in the resulting dialog
8. Press a key combination
9. Click "OK"

Actual Results:
The shortcut I just specified is not transfered to the text field in the parent
dialog. I can enter something like Ctrl+Alt+B manually, however.

Expected Results:
The shortcut I just specified is transfered to the textfield

Also note that the QDialogButtonBox is misplaced in the dialog, the OK/Cancel
button is at the top rather than the bottom.

Because not everybody can compile the sources it would be good if the correct
compiled package find it's way to the repos ;-)

Thanks to all who spent their time and "grey matter" :-)

Hi,

Thank you for your report. I'm afraid though that this must be a local
installation issue. How exactly did you install Krita?

The error on the attached log indicates that both the oxygen5-icon-theme and
libkdepim5 plugins are providing:
/usr/share/icons/oxygen/256x256/mimetypes/x-mail-distribution-list.png
This is seen on my (neon) machine as well.

There are currently no options built into the planetkde.org site that would
allow visually impaired users to use a dark theme. This can easily be achieved
with css to provide the choice for users to opt into a dark theme.

Fully-functional code (changing the background to dark grey) to provide this
feature is listed below the break ;

[korganizer] [Bug 352043] Regression: kOrganizer 5 systray reminder module does not open main application window on click

2016-03-14 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352043

Yes, at least with the kOrganizer version I've installed - which is, as far as
I know, the most recent precompiled version you can get for (K)Ubuntu:

ii korganizer
4:15.08.3-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 amd64calendar
and personal organizer

No idea if there are more recent versions in source form which already fix
this.
