[ilugd]: LAP as ilug-d/sarai/IBM !!???

2002-10-09 Thread Prateek Khanna

how about talkin to these guys about it as linux-delhi

IBM is trying to do the same for universities that LAP is currently
concentrating on for schools

http://www-3.ibm.com/software/info/students/contests/linux/

Also why dont we go to the Department of Inofmation Technology (in
context to the article in the economic times) and talk to them about
linux-delhi and other local lugs as non profit organisations to mediate
the "spread linux" movement.

prateek

[ilugd]: need a summary comparison of MS vs linux

2002-10-09 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

i need a quick and short summary comparison of MS versus Linux (or open
source) deployment. i know that there could be several (google searchable)
sites that i can troll. but if any of you have a ready document, or can
point to the right website or url, i would be very grateful. basically the
document should describe in short and non-technical language, the
cost-benefit analysis, the non-monetary benefits, and long term vs short
term implications of using open source/free software, as against
proprietary software like MS.

thanks in advance,

ajit ranade.

effectively. WebSphere practitioners or developers working in the field of
application servers or on web can become the member of this group. There is
no membership fee to join this group.

We invite all WebSphere users/Web developers and technical managers of
your company to register as a group member at
