ScummVM
Hi, I haven't checked the source code repo yet for licenses included except the obvious stated ones. Last week I wrote on IRC that it contains proprietary engines (or something along this lines). Memory served me wrong, there's only stable and unstable engines. This is from my current build log. Now, last time I started scummvm was maybe over 10 years ago so I don't know if anything of this requires the original disks etc and if that is okay by GFSDGL. I have some backups of my original floppies, so I'll test ScummVM later today and see what works and how it works (I didn't read their Manual or website so far). Or if it works at all. At least it build without issues now. Posts in languages other than English on help-guix?
Hello Guix!
What about allowing posts on help-guix in one of the languages that
regular contributors know, in addition to English?
The alternative would be to create separate language-specific lists, but
some (rightfully) think there’s a risk of a disconnect with actual
developers.
Of course it’s hard to tell what a multilingual mailing list will be
like, but I think it’s worth experimenting (and I don’t expect a
significant change overnight). If we are to reach out to more people,
allowing them to use the language they know best is the minimum we can
do IMO.

web site. If you’re a committer, please provide a translation for the
language(s) you know!

That sounds like a good idea. However, in the text, I would still say that
English is the preferred language, or the language in which one is most

[WIP] localize guix.texi
Hi, this new version of the patch takes your feedback into account. I tried
to put guix.fr.texi in dist_info_TEXINFOS, but automake didn't generate the
rules for building guix.fr.info in that case.
I don't like the fact that both the po and texi files are commited and will
be changed together whenever someone makes a change in the manual.
The French translation is just the beginning: I translated only the Introduction
and the Installation pages. Also, I used the po file to add the
@documentlanguage macro to change the texinfo strings to French (like "see",
"next page", "up", etc).
There's an issue with changes that add references: when that happens, the
default translation would be the English version, so the reference would be
to the English name (for instance, @pxref{Invoking guix package}), resulting
in a build failure when the name has been changed (for instance
"Invoquer guix package" in French). I would like to be able to localize the
section name because it appears in link names. Any ideas?
