Re: [GNC] Android Companion App, Export CSV

2023-09-08 Thread Tom Balazs
At one point I was using Financisto ("Open-source personal finance
manager") on my Android phone. But I don't even see that in Google Play
anymore.
Does anyone know if that is still in active development?
This website seems to say that it is.
https://financisto.en.softonic.com/android

On Google Play there is "Financisto Plus" by Blucat, but that seems to be a
different project.

UpToDown.com shows Financisto 1.8.2 by Denis Solonenko
https://financisto.en.uptodown.com/android

And GitHub has Financisto under the name of dsolenko, but it looks like it
hasn't been modified in about 4 years

2023-09-08 Thread john
You should have read the details on Financisto Pro: "This is forked version of
financisto as the original one is not maintained for a long time. The project
is hosted on github (https://github.com/BlueCatMe/financisto)." That repo shows
a commit last week.

Another way of approaching this is to duplicate your book for the
purpose of learning how to run an import or other more complex job.
Then you can import the transactions, and instead of having to try to
delete stuff, just start again on a fresh copy until everything is to
your satisfaction

Re: [GNC] gnucash_user: rounding errors and significant digits

2023-09-08 Thread Bruce McCoy via gnucash-user

Jim,

Whata pleasure to read your response. What a pause before my response.

Youare kind enough to say:

Iam interested by your statement, "results in gnucash reducingthe shares
in the fund by 2.4". GnuCash is capable of storingshare counts to three
decimal places. However, a setting in theAccount window for the security
controls the number of decimalplaces GnuCash uses for that security. See
the Tutorial and Concepts Guide, 9.4.1. Setup Accounts for Stocks and
MutualFunds.See also Figure 9.8. The
“New Security” Window, on that page.

Foryour security, what is the value for "fraction traded" inthe security
window? It should be 1/1000 or smaller. What is thevalue for "Smallest
Fraction" in that dialogue box? Itshould be "Commodity Value".

Youare exactly right. I corrected my mistake. Thank you for helpingme.

BestRegards,

Bruce
