Wow, that sounds complicated. I better get my IT guru to take a look.

Cheers for the info.

Re: Installation of GC Intel 2.6.16 on Sierra, mouse click does not work correctly

2017-05-20 Thread Lothar Beyer
Finally I found out what the problem seems to be:
When I open a window, any window for that matter like registers, main window,
preferences, the window will not open completely. I discovered it first with
the preference window: I opened it and only the top third of the bottom left
close button is visible. In this situation the mouse is of by 1 to 2 lines
(=rows). Once I have enlarged the window, so that the full button is visible it
works fine. That same behavior also occurs in windows without buttons (like
Forward, Close, Save etc). I always have to slightly enlarge or scale down the
window and the mouse works ok.

Lothar

That's really strange. Are you using the supplied primary device (the
trackpad on the MBP and the Apple Mouse on the iMac) or a third-party
 mouse?

Exchange rate in profit and loss

2017-05-20 Thread zorngibel
Dear all,

I have a problem with dual currencies in the Profits and Loss report. I
have some profits in GBP and some in EUR, my account is in
GBP. For most functions the conversion of EUR to GBP works fine, but in
the Profit and Loss report the exchange rate is way off (and obviously
different from the rate in the Price Editor), it says:

€1.00£18.3493

How can I correct that?

Cheers,
Georg

1) I mean there is no changes in currensies quotes and my Price Editor is
different from Price Editor from docs
2) I have added 2 currencies and can see them. Both of them have source:

3) I'm using 2.6.15-r1 (last version in gentoo)
4) My default currency is BYN

Re: Exchange rate in profit and loss

2017-05-20 Thread Adrien Monteleone
Shy of investigating why the rate is off to make sure it doesn’t happen again,
you can always edit the incorrect rate in the Price Editor, or delete it and
manually enter a new one. Just use whatever trusted quote online you prefer for
the number.

Also be sure to mind your choice in the report Options concerning trading
values. (the one concerning weighted average, nearest in time, or most recent)

Understanding taxes and the income statement

2017-05-20 Thread P M
Very basic problem here. I made an invoice for a service that I did. I
received $20. Where I live I have to charge 7% tax. So the revenue is
actually $18.69 and the tax is 1.31.My invoice has a subtotal of $18.69 and
a tax of 1.31. I post it and get it paid and for some reason my tax expense is
a -1.31. In other words my net income is boosted by $1.31 as opposed to
decreased to $1.31. Why is this? Is this because I haven't actually paid the
sales tax yet and I close it out later?
