I'm using the gnome-shell jhbuild moduleset only. Meanwhile I have
updated to Karmic Alpha and rebuilt Gnome Shell. Launching apps and docs
from the shell still doesn't work, but now I get some error messages on
the console. For example for gedit:

gedit: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.9' not found (required by
/usr/lib/libgio-2.0.so.0)
gedit: libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.9' not found (required by
/usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0)

It doesn't matter if I launch it from the overlay or with Alt-F2 -- the
error message is the same. Launching the apps without Gnome Shell works
however.
