Re: help: could not submit my translation to zh gnome community

2006-09-21 Thread Serena
Clytie,

I tried to contact some of the zh community memebers (including the
lead) by their individual mail addresses,
but I could not get through. Yes, there must be something wrong with the
server.

For the time being, I do not know how I can get the contact with the
members :(

Thanks

Serena

Re: gtk+ release soon

2006-09-21 Thread Matthias Clasen
Another translation issue for the upcoming gtk+ release.
I'd like to commit the patch in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354887
which makes working with remote bookmarks in the file chooser
almost bearable. The patch introduces one new string, which
is already translated in nautilus and the panel.

I wonder if the translators, ie you, want me to drop the
existing translations from the panel in the GTK+ po files ?
I have a script to do that for the Fedora rpms anyway, so it
would be pretty easy to do.

No, please don't do that.
Yair already pointed out why. If you would do, there would be no use in
assigning team-coordinators, because anyone "could" just override them.

If there are issues with the team, those have to be sorted out first (in
the worst case, assigning a new coordinator; Danilo or Christian will
explain the procedure and how to react in this case here)

Cheers,
Manuel

Benoît Dejean :) Ooops, I'm sorry!

Manuel Borchers yes you'are right...maybe it's better to wait Christian or Danilo.

Serena, sorry me...I'll commit them when team coordinator issue is fixed, Manuel has right!
It's better if you talk with Christian or Danilo before...I hope we fix that soon...

I guess it's just the fallback mechanism playing tricks on you. As
there are no translations available for pt_BR, gettext uses pt or
pt_PT ones.

That's interesting! If some message isn't translated to pt_BR, but it
is translated in pt_PT, then the pt_PT message is displayed?

I have some alterations to commit, I'll e-mail about that in particular.
