Re: ftpserver - running it?

2004-01-23 Thread Rana Bhattacharyya
Hi,
I am sorry for replying late. Running is simple. The
phoenix is bundled in the distribution binary file.
The ftpserver.sar file in the phoenix apps directory.
So you need to execute phoenix run batch file. By
default the ftp server uses properties file based user
manager. You can add/remove/modify users by
ftp-admin.jar file. The default admin user name and
password is admin/admin.

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Rana

I don't have an expectation at this point; I haven't
seen enough projects make it all the way through the
process.

Roy said we need to finish "filling-out the
documentation of the IP transfer", but I'm not
familiar what that documentation is. Where do I sign?

I assume the xmlbeans project would an example of a mature project moving into
incubation. From my perspective the incubation period IN apache has been critical.
Getting the source into apache, the licensing, the website, the build processes, the
apache community norms, establishing the community in apache, etc all needed to be
done for us and IMO going into apache as a project provided a focus that would not
have been possible outside. I would think many *mature* projects would need this time
to figure things out, get help from the incubator team, and them move over into the
appropriate part of apache.

Re: EyeBrowse bugs

2004-01-23 Thread Martin Cooper
The Eyebrowse software comes from Tigris:

http://eyebrowse.tigris.org/

so you might bring it up with them. The underlying search engine, though, is
Lucene, which is within Apache:

http://jakarta.apache.org/lucene/docs/index.html

Our own installation is maintained by the Apache infrastructure group, I
believe, and you can reach them at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
