Shutdown/reboot troubles with SMP on 5.2
Hi all, I have troubles with 5.2 while I try to reboot/shutdown it. Our freeBSD 5.2 smp kernel is installed on dual P3 host. It hangs on cpu_reset or cpu_reset_proxy. Is there any solution for this problem? -- Alexey Kuzmenko CCNA System Administrator UN House in Ukraine ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
ARP poisonong. LIVE_MAC
Hi all, There is a kernel module under Linux which is called LIVE-MAC. This module provide a sort of arp spoofing attack. It broadcasts arp replies for restricted host causing these hosts (basically windows) not to work in the LAN. I'm wandering if there is something like above but for FreeBSD. I need to disallow any host network activity from the server (FreeBSD 4.8) -- Alexey Kuzmenko CCNA System Administrator UN House in Ukraine ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Hello Lowell, Saturday, January 24, 2004, 5:20:13 PM, you wrote: >> replies for restricted host causing these hosts (basically windows) not >> to work in the LAN. LG> What an incredibly ugly idea. Why it's ugly?. Imagine that You've built a LAN to provide this service to customers (each PC is a separate customer, service is LAN). But all LAN has no L3 switches to cut off some customer that didn't pay for the service. How do you plan to cut off customers in debts? >> I'm wandering if there is something like above but for FreeBSD. See above. I do not want to firewall some server! I have a sevice - LAN connection, and I want to cut off some users that have debts (There is a hardware solution - just unplug them from the switch, but I'm seeking for software solution) -- Alexey Kuzmenko CCNA System Administrator UN House in Ukraine ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Re: GELI recovery
I've turned on debugging and visible password with: kern.geom.eli.debug=3 kern.geom.eli.visible_passphrase=1 but have nothing in the dmesg concerning my ad0s2 partition and it keeps telling "Wrong key for ad0s2". May be I should fsck it before doing a geli attachment? -- Alexey S Kuzmenko [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG: 0x93AD13DD (C9ED F720 D693 E707 571A E49A 0173 2F04 93AD 13DD) nic-hdl - ASK1-RIPE ___ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
