Hi,

In tinderbox env, I'm sure that PYTHON_DEFAULT_VERSION=python3.2 is
enough for specify the python port.

Hello,

This change was already mentioned in the commit log.
Since USES=python was relaxed form python 2.x only to both python 2.x and
3.x, PLIST_FILES should be updated as well.

Re: tortoisehg freebsd port update

2017-04-26 Thread Sunpoet Po-Chuan Hsieh
Hi,

Thanks for notification.
FYI, devel/tortoisehg has been updated to 4.1.3 in r439483.
That means both ports (mercurial and tortoisehg) in head are 4.1.3 now.

Then I checked quarterly branch.
We have mercurial 4.1.1 and tortoisehg 4.0 in 2017Q2 branch.
Maybe we need to merge updates from head to 2017Q2 branch.

I also got confused when I see it at the first time.
Note the ".elif" which means ${PYTHON_REL} >= 3300 and ${PYTHON_REL} < 3400.
It only includes python 3.3.

In this case, it should be removed.
devel/py3-enum34 depends on expired python 3.3 only.

I appreciate René's help for cleaning up expired ports.
IMHO, if we want to extend the support period, it would be better to change
EXPIRATION_DATE before its expiration.

Re: [Fwd: dvdvideo-20120126_1 failed on amd64 8]

2012-04-26 Thread Sunpoet Po-Chuan Hsieh
Hi nivit,

Thank you for providing solution of python3.2 PEP3147 issue.
I think an exp-run for PYTHON_DEFAULT_VERSION=python3.2
and patched bsd.python.mk would be great.
OTOH, it will also find out wrong USE_PYTHON=yes settings
(e.g. should be USE_PYTHON=-2.7).

Regards,
sunpoet

Hi,

Oops, I forgot to reply that mail. :(

I've compared my tinderbox log with yours. The main difference is that
you have both USE_PYTHON=3.2 and PYTHON_VERSION=python3.2 defined but
PYTHON_DEFAULT_VERSION undefined. It makes the expression [1] false,
therefore bin/easy_install is not installed. I consulted lwhsu@ on [1]
and it's the final result. Please note that USE_PYTHON and
PYTHON_VERSION are meant to be used by port maintainers in ports'
Makefile [2].

[1] devel/py-distribute/Makefile line 48:
.if ${PYTHON_VERSION} == ${PYTHON_DEFAULT_VERSION} &&
!exists(${LOCALBASE}/bin/easy_install)
[2] Mk/bsd.python.mk line 14-18, 79-82

I take this port for example. It depends on Python 2.7 which was installed
by pkg_add. The error message appears at the end of this tinderbox build.
