Yasuhiro,

thanks for the patch. Can you confirm it passes Poudriere testport? Does it
build and install against Python 3.4 and 3.5?

(In reply to neil from comment #3)

It's okay for ports to require specific Python version, since Python versions
can be installed concurrently. The defaults matter when no specific version is
preferred. See https://wiki.freebsd.org/DEFAULT_VERSIONS .

(In reply to Giel van Schijndel from comment #6)

Please set maintainer-feedback+ on the issue, and maintainer-approval+ on the
patch if you think it's good to go.

However, this does not build against Python 3 because it depends on py-ipaddr
which is apparently not ready for 3. That's a separate issue that will have to
be dealt with first.

Guys, please confirm with a poudriere test?

Dear Zane,

First of all, thank you for your contribution. We're always glad to see new
people here. Any kind of contribution is appreciated.
Second. You don't basically upload the shar unless you create a new port. The
way to get the patch has been described above by Koobs: you get an svn ports
tree, then apply your changes to it, then cd to the deskutils/py-khal directory
and issue the `svn diff` command. That's it. Moreover, we always require a
poudriere log for port QA. To get it, you install poudriere, create a jail
using `poudriere jail -c`, create a ports tree (I recommend that you use the
svn one, but you can actually use the portsnap one) and run `poudriere
testport` for your port. That's basically what I did for now. Oh, and the shar
is not an archive that contains the patch, but the archive that contains the
new port so you just extract it into the ports tree using the shell.
Feel free to ask further questions: we're always open to new contributors and
willing to help if we can.

The only way to fix this is to install Python 3.x?

I already have Python 2.7 installed (required by a few other ports) and would
hate to have to install yet another version just to use this one port.

If that's the case, I'll remove it and install the Perl version instead.

[Bug 205960] lang/python35: (and lang/python34) building with LibreSSL fails: lib-dynload/_ssl.so: No such file or directory

2016-01-06 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=205960

Bug ID: 205960
Summary: lang/python35: (and lang/python34) building with
LibreSSL fails: lib-dynload/_ssl.so: No such file or
directory
   Product: Ports & Packages
   Version: Latest
  Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
  Severity: Affects Some People
  Priority: ---
 Component: Individual Port(s)
  Assignee: pyt...@freebsd.org
  Reporter: mark.marti...@ijs.si
 Flags: maintainer-feedback?(pyt...@freebsd.org)
  Assignee: pyt...@freebsd.org

This seems to be the same issue as reported in Bug 195513
for lang/python32 :

  https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=195513
  https://svnweb.freebsd.org/changeset/ports/404378

Apparently the fix was only applied to lang/python32 but not
to python34 and python35 ports. (not sure about python33,
haven't tried it).

Full pudriere logs for python34 and python35 are at:

Hi Mark,

Just checked the 3.4 sources and the required changes for LibreSSL are in the
tarball (same applies to 3.5). Can you please send the config.log and config.h?
There's code in configure to test for the existence of the RAND_egd method in
libcrypto which must have somehow failed. Additionally, please provide your
/etc/make.conf

As a fix for this in Modules/_ssl.c you could replace
#ifdef HAVE_RAND_EGD
with
#ifndef OPENSSL_NO_EGD
(NB ifdef -> ifNdef) that should work for sure.

I still need to upstream this improvement but the result should be exactly the
same.

Can't find config.h (will look some more), but here is
the config.log (this time the 'make' was run interactively
in /usr/ports/lang/python35, resulting in the same failure
as in poudriere) :

  https://www.ijs.si/~mark/tmp/config.log

> Additionally, please provide your /etc/make.conf

The of makefiles can be seen near the beginning of the provided
build log files (follow links), between "---Begin make.conf---"
and "---End make.conf---".

There's definitely something wrong with the CFLAGS, configure is using the libs
from base not ports.

configure:9276: checking for RAND_egd in -lcrypto
configure:9301: cc -o conftest -O2 -pipe -fno-omit-frame-pointer
-fstack-protector -fno-strict-aliasing -lpthread -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib
-Wl,-rpath=/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib -fstack-protector conftest.c -lcrypto >&5
configure:9301: $? = 0
configure:9310: result: yes

This patch changes behaviour to use the define from opensslfeatures.h. At build
time the correct include is done.

Just checked, this build works just fine with security/libressl-devel on PC-BSD

I recall this bug from early on when fixing LibreSSL issues and that was fixed
with passing extra flags for configure. The currently attached patch is
preferred.

It has been many moons since I last used portupgrade, so my chops are rusty to
say the least. However, this patch registers the new name in MOVED, so I
believe that it meets its requirements w.r.t. the ports infrastructure.
portupgrade has been MOVED-aware since v2.4.9.8 according to the latest release
notes (https://github.com/freebsd/portupgrade/blob/2.4.14/NEWS.md).

My main hint is to investigate the "-o" option for portupgrade. If neither of
these leads proves fruitful, please provide more detail about the state of your
system (versions of FreeBSD and portupgrade, at least, and the update method
and relative snapshots of the ports tree) and the things you have tried
(detailed command lines and full output as an attachment), to help us determine
if this is a port-specific regression or a portupgrade support issue.

Question, is this strictly related to bug #205807 and its solution? My patch is
using py3kplist as suggested in comment #3, meaning it works with the current
state of ports head.

Short - no. You are good to go with or without this patch.

py3kplist makes pkg-plist transparent conversion to python3 style and patch
just adds some variables which needs for those who create ports starting with
python3 version instead of using py3kplist.

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=204793

(In reply to SBB from comment #5)

That's a great effort (and correct, for a patch against the upstream sources),
though what is preferable is a patch against the port itself, creating a
files/patch-* file.

Here's how you do it:

1) # cd /path/to/category/port
2) # make clean extract
3) # cd work/path/to/file
4) # cp file file.orig
5) edit file
6) go back to port directory
7) # make makepatch

You'll find a brand new file created for you in files/ :)

Then just `svn diff` > patch.diff in the port directory to produce a diff
against the port

There is documentation on this, but it's a little ambiguous:

https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/porters-handbook/slow-patch.html

Also, bonus points if you patch in the entire upstream commit (including
comment)

You can grab that here:

https://github.com/grisha/mod_python/commit/5bb5d6d0113f6bbd72966a5c1f3e6d40c2e9c8fd.patch

Is it all set or do I need to flag somewhere else?

I've set it for you this time, it's not in the most obvious place :)

Attachment -> Details -> Flag: maintainer-approval [+]

This is distinct from the maintainer-feedback flag, which is at the 'issue'
level, which you use to indicate you have 'responded' to a request for
feedback. It's unrelated to 'approval' of changes

You may also mouse over the name of any flag, to see a description of it, and
example usages

Hope that helps Murilo!

Thank you for the patch, Davide.
It's not as simple as that, though, because it needs some dependencies changes
as well.
I'm working on that.

Hi K, thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately I didn't have poudriere, so wasn't able to full test the previous
patch.

Please find attached a new one, including missing (and required ports) where I
put you as mantainer (I hope you don't mind :) but if this is an issue, I will
be honoured to maintain them).

A quick note: py-monotonic should be installed if python_ver is 2.x or < 3.3
(cfr. https://pypi.python.org/pypi/monotonic/0.5)

Best,
d.

@Davide, very nice work :)

What we'll need is separate issues for each new port, with this issue "depends
on" those issue 's, where appropriate.

Regarding py-monotonic, there is an existing review open for it:

https://reviews.freebsd.org/D4845

Also, the COMMENT for each of the new python ports should match its
setup.py:description (shortened, and compliant with portlint as necessary)

So, in summary:

* Split out the new changes ports into separate issues (as shell archives)
* Obsolete the existing attachment here, attach the py-novaclient update only
* Have this issue "depend on" the other new port issue issue ids

Hope that helps

FWIW, I already have oslo.utils and oslo.i18n ports ready. You can save
yourself a little time and submit oslo.serialization though (but pay attention
to their deps as well. Also, I think pbr is required to be build depend as
well).
