FreeBSD ports you maintain which are out of date

2020-04-20 Thread portscout
Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/pyt...@freebsd.org.html

Port| Current version | New version
+-+
math/py-numpy | 1.16.5 | 1.18.3
+-+
textproc/py-sphinx | 1.6.5 | 3.0.2
+-+

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:

I like this approach, this gets us a more recent version of sphinx for more and
more ports require it and also takes care of the ports require old version. I
feel we can mark this one overcome by event and request another exp-run against
the patch in bug245629.

@Sascha Can you confirm

- this version update can land independently from the twisted update in bug
245252, modulo the request smuggling vulnerability in the current version you
mentioned in comment 7

- That this version is OK with the current version of Twisted in ports (I
haven't had a chance to run through any requirements changes)

[Bug 230140] textproc/py-sphinx: Update to 1.8.1

2020-04-20 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=230140

(In reply to Kubilay Kocak from comment #15)
I'm fine for having the dependency line in the Makefile of individual port
(maybe I'm more prefer to that.)

I want to point out that this ticket gets stuck because of it's not that easy
to fix all the fallouts of the upgrade, but there are new ports want to be
added because of needing new sphinx (ex: bug233010 ), which is the least thing
I want to see. I suggest:

- Let's get a new exp-run or just do a self poudriere build against the 3.0.2
(IIRC some of the fallouts in comment5 got fixed by newer version (1.8.x in
that time), but I forgot to mention in that comment)
- For fallouts, let's check if them needs 1.8.x or other fixes, or even can be
deprecated.

And I suggest we can set a time to revise (and deprecate) 1.8.x along with
python 2 in ports.

Any comments?

Why not simply update sphinx to the latest version and remove all the ports
that really really need 2.7. Those have had 7 or 8 years to switch to Python 3
and are considered abandonware.

All you would be doing is add more work now that will be removed in the next
few months.

Sorry for the delay. The synapse update is completely independent of the
updates in bug 245252 and bug 243602. This is particularly true for the
py-twisted update, otherwise I'd have bumped the dependency requirements. :)

We only depend on the JSON1 option of sqlite3 mention in bug 244366, so the
"depends on" information is still accurate.

However, as you've noted, we're still vulnerable to request smuggling without
the py-twisted update. This is however a different issue and probably more
suitably discussed in bug 245252, py-matrix-synapse 1.12.3 works with either
version.

Oh, that would also work, if all the ports require old sphinx are because of
python 2, we can schedule to remove them.

The point is, it's (was) not related to python versions, but also sphinx
versions. It was the reason this updating to 1.8.x patch cannot get in. What
I suggested was adding newer sphinx because of there is need, and set a
deadline for old sphinx. I thought along with python 2 is probably a good
timing.

The latest version of Sphinx is 3.0.2, there are a few ports that doens't build
with it, e.g. the full set of LLVM, more details on bug 245629, it's not just
an issue with Python 2.7 here.

Sphinx 1.8 is not the latest, if we use this version, it will continue to be
outdated.

Regarding the new shared macro for Sphinx, it can be gone when Python 2.7 is
removed, the work is done, see bug 245629 please.

Hi Paul.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Do you use another LOCALBASE/PREFIX, instead of /usr/local ?

This is the customizations I can see that maybe can explain that.

post-patch:
@${REINPLACE_CMD} -e 's|/usr/local|${LOCALBASE}|' \
${WRKSRC}/certbot/compat/misc.py \
${WRKSRC}/tests/cli_test.py

@${REINPLACE_CMD} -e 's|/usr/local|${LOCALBASE}|'
${WRKSRC}/certbot_nginx/_internal/configurator.py

And do you use the official FreeBSD packages ?

Well sphinx is usually used for generating docs, so ports that need 2.7 can

Could you reinstall packages py37-certbot and py37-certbot-nginx?

Then check if the problem still occurs, if yes, make a copy of their
files:

cp -a -R /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certbot /tmp/certbot
cp -a -R /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certbot_nginx /tmp/certbot_nginx

Then reinstall them by ports as you described and execute a diff to see
what differs:

diff -u -r /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certbot_nginx/
/tmp/certbot_nginx/
diff -u -r /usr/local/lib/python3.7/site-packages/certbot/ /tmp/certbot/

And could you share
/usr/local/etc/letsencrypt/renewal/cloud.paulbeard.org.conf ?
Remove account information from it, please.

Has anyone reported this? Or am I just lucky?

I'll see if I can pull that info together.

Not that I'm aware. I use certbot with nginx on my servers and it's
fine, but I'm curious in knowing what is happening.

You can send that information to me directly if you want.

Bug 245773: lang/python3: Missing errno.EDEADLOCK
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=245773

--- Description ---
In the Python module errno the constant errno.EDEADLOCK is missing. According
to the Python documentation EDEADLOCK is part of the module.

The problem occurs when a process on a remote host runnning an OS as Linux
returns EDEADLOCK. (I know EDEADLOCK is not Posix compatible and the Linux
documentations says and it's synonym for EDEADLK, but Python allows to use it.)

I think a mapping from EDEADLOCK to EDEADLK would be sufficent to solve the
problem.

  Some suggestions :
  i) PORTREVISION=0 is not needed.
  ii) lang/python-doc-html should be updated
iii) many ports depends on python27, so exp-run should be required

I shall submit a new patch.

Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your

safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
