FreeBSD ports you maintain which are out of date

2017-06-09 Thread portscout
Dear port maintainer,

The portscout new distfile checker has detected that one or more of your
ports appears to be out of date. Please take the opportunity to check
each of the ports listed below, and if possible and appropriate,
submit/commit an update. If any ports have already been updated, you can
safely ignore the entry.

You will not be e-mailed again for any of the port/version combinations
below.

Full details can be found at the following URL:
http://portscout.freebsd.org/pyt...@freebsd.org.html

Port| Current version | New version
+-+
devel/py-entrypoints| 0.2.2 | 0.2.3

If any of the above results are invalid, please check the following page
for details on how to improve portscout's detection and selection of
distfiles on a per-port basis:

http://portscout.freebsd.org/info/portscout-portconfig.txt

Hi Vick,

The underlying py-requests/py3-requests issue underlying being unable to
build iocage is being tracked here:

https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=219833

As far as poudriere results go, you may want to poudriere pkgclean the
jail in question and attempt a py3-requests build again. Apart from
incorrect version-conditional dependencies (enum34 wont be installed for
those using python33), it should be ok at the moment for other versions.

If not it would be good to know what's failing.

Make sure you update your ports tree to ensure the latest revisions of
all ports involved (there were many)

argparse was removed as a dependency by rene in r427780 [1], assign accordingly
(maintainer remains cc'd).

devel/py-argparse was originally deleted in r427781 [2], then revived in
r440641 [3]

If the stdlib argparse module can be used without package code changes (like
import paths or function calls), then the argparse dependency should either be

a) patched out of setup.py:install_requires as those *_requires do not test for
presence of a package in/module in the standard library (as far as im aware).

b) The devel/py-argparse dependency removal commit should be reverted (or added
back to RUN_DEPENDS if that cannot be done).

2017-06-09 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=219890

I don't know much about python and using libraries in it, but here's what I was
able to hack up based on what I know.

I realize that the py-argparse port was removed since the functionality was
included in the standard library. I tried removing the import statements that
were causing the errors, but then the calls to

parser = argparse.ArgumentParser()

were failing.

I found a package py-configargparse which claims to be a drop in replacement
for argparse. I modified the sources to reflect configargparse in all
locations (3) where argparse was referenced. I rebuilt the port and it's
working for me.

I'm sure there's someone with more python than I know that can fix it better.
I can provide a simple patch to show what I did.

[Bug 212950] devel/py-pip: Doesn't build with python3 and docs option enable

2017-06-09 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=212950

Ben Woods changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||b...@freebsd.org,

 Status|New |In Progress

Hi Ibartoletti,
I have created new py3- ports to allow py3-pip to be build by the main FreeBSD
package builders.
Whilst this solves the problem of py3-pip being able to build with Python>=3.5,
it does not help with Python 3.3 or 3.4.

This is because building docs with devel/py3-pip has DOC_BUILD_DEPENDS on
textproc/py3-sphinx, which has BUILD/RUN_DEPENDS on devel/py3-Jinja2.
According to the devel/py3-Jinja2 port, versions of Jinja2 > 2.9 are no longer
compatible with versions of Python<3.5. Refer to PR215651:
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=215651#c2

bofh: are you aware if more recent versions of Jinja2 have fixed the build on
Python 3.3 or 3.4?
