Re: www/dotproject out of date and vulnerable

2006-09-20 Thread Fred Cox
So how about this:

Update the version to 2.0.4 to avoid the
vulnerability.

Modify Makefile to require PHP4:

DEFAULT_PHP_VER=4
WANT_PHP_WEB=   yes
IGNORE_WITH_PHP=5

Add to the files/pkg-message.in to inform the user
that they must have a remote or jailed mysql 3.23 or
make the published patches.

They need MySQL 3.23 server for running sql scripts. Local, remote,
jailed or virtual is not important.

Fine for me.

Re: cvs commit: ports/databases/ruby-mysql Makefile

2006-09-20 Thread Akinori MUSHA
Hi,

Is there anyone who can reproduce this build error? I couldn't
reproduce it on 4-STABLE nor on 6-STABLE.

http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-4-latest/ruby18-mysql-2.7.1.log
http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-5-latest/ruby18-mysql-2.7.1.log
http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-6-latest/ruby18-mysql-2.7.1.log
http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-7-latest/ruby18-mysql-2.7.1.log

Note: Some of those logs may not exist depending on the timing.

Any hint is appreciated, thanks.

Fix the xzgv port's security vulnerability

2006-09-20 Thread Peter Pentchev
Hi,

Thanks for maintaining the graphics/xzgv port!

What do you think about the attached patch, taken from the Debian xzgv
package - http://bugs.debian.org/362288 - which fixes the latest
security vulnerability?

If you have no objections, I could commit it.

G'luck,
Peter

Yes, I can reproduce it here on two boxes, one 5.5-RELEASE-p3 and the
other 5.4-RELEASE-p12

Haven't had time to dig into the problem yet.

/usr/ports/UPDATING entry for "2006-10-10" (zabbix)

Hey guys!

Sorry if this has already been pointed out a million or so
times, but the latest update of the ports UPDATING file (re:
zabbix) is listed as having been made on the 20061010. Being
the 2006-09-21 at the time of writing, methings there was a
mistake made there which if someone with godly powers in CVS
could fix would be wonderful! :-)

Ah, I had forgotten that this port is using scons and MAKE_ENV and
CONFIGURE_ENV are irrelevant in this case.

The trick happened without modifying the SConstuct file by just adding
TMPDIR="${TMPDIR}" to SCONS_BUILDENV.

Thanks for pointing me the right direction!

Alex: maybe TMPDIR should be set somewhere in bsd.scons.mk by default,
just like in (MAKE|CONFIGURE)_ENV in bsd.kde.mk?

Hi.

I have 3 open PR`s in the ports category, but no one take care of them :(
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr-summary.cgi?category=&severity=&priority=&class=&state=&sort=none&text=&responsible=&multitext=&originator=Alex+Samorukov&release=

2 PR`s have no responsible person at all and one PR (99062) is owned by
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
PR dates are:
2006/06/16ports/99062
2006/09/12ports/103203
2006/09/13ports/103211

Is it possible to speedup PR processing? This PR`s are version updates,
so they are important for users and also after some time of such
inactivity they will be not actual at all because new version will be out.

Right now, I've ran into a problem when upgrading SDL_net, so meybe
there's bug that should be fixed.

The problem is that linking SDL_net failed with complain from libtool
that it can't find /usr/local/lib/libSDL-1.1.la (of course SDL itself
was already updated, so there was no such file). It turned out that
for some reason libtool looked into /usr/local/lib/libGUI.la, that had
libSDL-1.1.la reference. That file belonged to graphics/guilib port,
after deinstalling which, sdl-net was built without errors.

Maybe there's bug somewhere around sdl-net build system. This:

post-configure:
@${REINPLACE_CMD} -e \
's|^deplibs_check_method=.*|deplibs_check_method=pass_all|' \
${WRKSRC}/libtool

seem suspicious for me. No problems were encountered with other sdl_*
ports.

No, it's not a bug in the building system. As we renamed the library itself
all dependent ports should be updated as well. That's why we've bumped up
portrevisions for all dependent ports. Programs like portupgrade should
do their work well.

Thanks for attention.

x11/xmixer, multimedia/ruby18-shout, etal Followup

2006-09-20 Thread Bill Blue
I have updated and rebuilt the entire installed ports tree, but afterwards when
trying to add/build xmixer, ruby18-shout and a few others, I'm still getting
the same failures in accessibility/dasher (as described earlier) even though
dasher itself will build with no problems.

Additionally, when you start the build for any of these problem ports, they
start cleaning for 100's of other ports, most of which have nothing to do with
the target build.

Surely someone must recognize this behavior, Help!

What else do you need to know about the problem?

Ok, I have found the problem. I had mis-specified the port group that a
particular port was in. xmixer is in audio, not x11, for example.

if you use portmaster's -p option to specify the path to a port and that path
doesn't exist, portmaster will display a message that the path is not found and
no xref is found, but then proceed to clean for ' ', which essentially walks
through the entire tree. It doesn't stop when the specified port is not found!
The not found messages go by quickly and I never saw them.

Ah, sorry. That day I signed all documents with wrong date. Next day I

May be it was a kind of a time machine :)

Thanks Erwin, who fixed it (UPDATING file, not a time machine).

It really is speeding up, along with PR submissions rate, so
your updates are most likely not processed due to a race
condition. :-) Seriously though, there's no way to ensure that
you'll get any attention first. If a new version is out, send a
new patch as a follow-up.

Thanks!
