skype dummynet high priority

2007-06-29 Thread sa8o1age

does anyone know how to set up high priority of skype traffic with the dummynet?

i have this rules for now:

## shaping
ipfw pipe 108 config bw 120Kbit/s queue 10kbytes mask all
ipfw queue 109 config pipe 108 weight 50 mask dst-ip 0x
ipfw add queue 109 ip from not 192.168.0.0/24 to 192.168.0.0/24,192.168.2.108

i need to prioritize all skype traffic to/from 192.168.2.108 when its coming

Re: IPv6 Woes...

2007-06-29 Thread Eric F Crist

[cut it out]

I just wanted everyone to know that my IPv6 Woes have been resolved.
As it turns out, there a couple of things that were killing my
setup. First, I had fat-fingered the IP6 alias on my gateway - works
great there. Secondly, my ISP fat-fingered the network address for
my subnet in their routing tables. Third, and last, there is (still)
a routing problem on the high-level at Verizon/Alter/UUnet that has
yet to be resolved.

Thanks a lot for all your help!

Re: kern/112710: [re] if_re driver detects incorrect b243a405a405 MAC address on SMC9452TX-1 pci gigabit cards

Today I run a test using the "NetBSD Live! 2007" live-CD, which is
apparently based on NetBSD 4.0 BETA.
NetBSD also uses the re driver for these cards. Upon boot all the "5
bad cards" are detected as RealTek 8169SB gigabit adapters and
believe or not, each and every single adapter uses its own correct
 MAC address.
SO whatever the problem is in the FreeBSD and OpenBSD re driver, the
NetBSD guys have already solved it. Or, they didn't scew it up in the
 first place! :-)
Either way, it might be worthwile talking to them about this defect
or having a thorough look at their re driver code (or the code of any
 related networking module).
I also run a test with a Gentoo Linux Live CD which also uses the
 correct MAC addresses.
Unfortunately this is where my abilities stop.

 Somebody, Please!
You don't have to reinvent the solution, NetBSD already/still has the
 answer.

 Keve

I ran a few tests today.
Tried a Gentoo Linux LiveCD, NetBSD Live! 2007 live-CD (based on
NetBSD 4.0 BETA) and OpenBSD 4.1.
Each of these loaded the pcn card driver with the cable being plugged
in, no errors reported, no kernel panics.
