Bug 235240: devel/libinotify: move sys/inotify.h into a subdirectory
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=235240

--- Description ---
libinotify installs sys/inotify.h in a common location where regular libraries
are. Consumers may opportunistically pick it up over kqueue backend or if not
required. Let's limit poisoning like OpenBSD port did.

See review D18990 for the patch and check your port didn't regress.

libinotify installs sys/inotify.h in a common location where regular libraries
are. Consumers may opportunistically pick it up over kqueue backend or if not
required. Let's limit poisoning like OpenBSD port did.

See review D18990 for the patch and check your port didn't regress.

I filed some feedback in the code review.

Short version is, I think this could be better addressed creating an inotify
USES.

I'm restraining my approval until such concern is addressed.

Posting here to avoid timing out.

I'm OK to change where inotify.h installs. But I do not understand why we have
to move it. Could you please give a case that "consumers may opportunistically
pick it up over kqueue backend or if not required"? After this change, do we
have to teach every new ports how to find the new home of inotify.h?

Thanks.

Look for ports with CONFIGURE_ENV=ac_cv_header_sys_inotify_h=no.

> After this change, do we have to teach every new ports how to find the new
> home of inotify.h?

No. Only those not using pkg-config. -linotify doesn't exist on Linux, so it
always comes with a .pc file (unless older than 20170711). autotools and meson
support pkg-config just fine, cmake uses modules to reinvent pkg-config but the
support is good if required module exists, gmake and bmake[1] can cache
pkg-config output via $(shell ...) and ${SH:!...!}.

[1] bmake caching have to be in submake *after* pkg-config is installed as
${SH:!...!} is evaluated at parsing time. gmake isn't affected because it's
only used to parse vendor's Makefile while port's Makefile is parsed by bmake.

Ivan, the patches no longer apply cleanly (obviously). Should one try to port
the attached patch from 2016 over, or start with the work under
https://github.com/radovanovic/monobsd/commit/27141786e3db3e5e381be812ff698d479550e678
?

Josh, you mentioned that you were still using the patches in 2018, did you
maintain versions of them that still apply cleanly? Could you please share
them, so I can test and commit them? Thanks!

I think I have patch for 5.10 on one computer, will try to find it these days
(I think it is not too different from source in github, maybe I just didn't
bother to port tests as well).

Will try to find time soon to look at this bug reported by Michiel.

I mean, as a port diff. It's not upstreamable as is, which means it will be a
continued maintenance burden over time. Ideally, FreeBSD has a related but
independent ABI definition from OSX upstream.

Patch for port of lang/mono 5.20.1.19

Many of the changes needed for mono 5.10 were rolled into upstream by time this
5.20.1.19 was released, so this removes those patches. Also changes were made
in mono/tests/Makefile.am and mono/utils/mono-state.c for FreeBSD support in
upstream, but they didn't make it in time for the 5.20.1.19 cut, so this patch
accounts for those as well.

For this the fix is to append %%NLS%% the corresponding files in the pkg-plist,
so that the patch should be more ok

What kind of error? You should be more specific.

I have running software with mono 5.10 (installed with pkg) in many jails and
never had a problem.

[Bug 198727] [PATCH] lang/mono FileSystemWatcher (kevent) deadlock problem

2019-07-06 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198727

Ulrich,
I was using the patch from
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=206593 for mono version 4.X.
I have not tried updating it to 5.X but when I looked a while back it did not
look like much had changed with the particular file it was touching. Maybe
things are different now though.

I would be happy to test any patches that enable realtime filesystem scanning
for emby using a recent version of mono.

I have a question, for what is py-pillow needed here? As RUN_DEPENDS?
Don't see any references to use this.
Py-pillow requires by default a lot of dependencies.

CONFLICTS_INSTALL=  czmq-3*

patch 5.20.1.34

Py-pillow is needed only for mono-heapviz tool which is not used in all cases.
Here's my version of the patch for 5.20.1.34. mono-heapviz optional and
disabled by default.
Fixed postexec cert-sync in pkg-plist. Mono certificate store must be
synchronized with ca_root_nss after install.
