documentation looking for a home. (kernel modules and Vimage)
Sorry for double posting.. this email addresses two separate groups of people. Some time ago I wrote the following. http://p4web.freebsd.org/@md=d&cd=//depot/projects/vimage/&cdf=//depot/projects/vimage/porting_to_vimage.txt&c=s0G@//depot/projects/vimage/porting_to_vimage.txt?ac=64&rev1=18 It really should get split into bits and put into the handbook or something.. It includes a section that is all about the module load inits that is not specific to vimage, and there is also a good description of vimage in the that the handbook could use somewhere, maybe in the developer's hand book. Firstly are there any doc people that can take a look at it and see if it would fit in somewhere? (Do we have an editor in chief?) and also maybe some kernel people who can go over the part that describes how modules are loaded and check that it is still up to date.. I last changed it in 2010 so it could be in need of updating. If you know about kerle module loading please take a look and see if anything stands out to you.. It is in the second half of the doc. Also anyone lookign at vimage might find it worth a look. [Bug 209429] Possible typo in FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE Release Notes
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=209429 --- Comment #3 from swee...@addr.com --- It's hard to argue with that. My personal take as a release engineer is that even though the code is final, blatant documentation errata could and should be fixed in line, since of necessity they become final after the remainder of the software. In this case it doesn't matter, since the text is merely descriptive. But if the text were intended to be cut and pasted then it would merit a post hoc fix, in my view. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ freebsd-doc@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-doc To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-doc-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"

FAQ grub documentation is out of date.
The FreeBSD FAQ grub documentation appears out of date. The suggested grub entry is: title FreeBSD 9.1 root (hd0,a) kernel /boot/loader I receive errors and can only make either of the following work (FreeBSD loaded on /sda/sda3): menuentry "FreeBSD 10.3" { set root=(hd0,3) kfreebsd /boot/loader } menuentry "FreeBSD 10.3" { set root=(hd0,3) chainloader +1 } ___ freebsd-doc@freebsd.org mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-doc To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-doc-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"

What would you do with more than $1,000 per day?
Hi, Jeff Hallmark woke up late today, like he does every morning. This former tow truck driver is loving his new life! No more 2am lockout calls from drunks, no more dodging traffic changing flats and no more avoiding the landlord's phone calls at rent time. Life gets good when you're making $300,000 A MONTH!
