Has this driver been committed to head yet? I see a lot of successes so I think
its ready to be included?

+1 from me on that - it has been used in a production workflow on several IBM
and dell laptops now for over 4 weeks and proven to be rock solid.

It would be very nice to test with the last instance:

Branch rtsx_set_sd_clock (be2a08c) which work very well on my RTL8411B.

I am interested to know your type of device and the make of your computer.

Can you test on a spare card something like:

dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/mmcsd0 bs=8192 count=1

To see if the issue is only for RTS5229

Hello,

Since this needs to be solved, I did download the pimd sources and used dnGRep
to search for the fault messages.

I did not find the exact fault message, however I did notice that
- "Allow enable phyint based on ifname or address"
- and then I realised that the error messages is saying Invalid ADDRESS where
the line shows an IFNAME ...

Could that perhaps, perhaps ... *do not know* be the cause of the problem
!!!???

[Bug 248264] arm64 / RPi4: cpu frequency control stops working

2020-07-25 Thread bugzilla-noreply
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=248264

Bug ID: 248264
Summary: arm64 / RPi4: cpu frequency control stops working
   Product: Base System
   Version: CURRENT
  Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
  Severity: Affects Some People
  Priority: ---
 Component: kern
  Assignee: b...@freebsd.org
  Reporter: g...@freebsd.org

On a recent CURRENT from the 25th of July the cpu frequency control stops
working. During boot the following error messages are displayed,

bcm2835_cpufreq0: ARM 600MHz, Core 200MHz, SDRAM 400MHz, Turbo OFF
mbox0: mbox response error
bcm2835_cpufreq0: can't set clock rate (id=4)
mbox0: mbox response error
bcm2835_cpufreq0: can't set clock rate (id=8)

The result is that the CPUs are always at the highest clockrate, even if they
are idle.

dev.cpu.0.freq_levels: 1500/-1 600/-1
dev.cpu.0.freq: 1500

>From my memory, on a -CURRENT from about 14th of July the frequency control was
working as intended.
