[Evolution] Noob on sorting ..
[ 'Ubuntu' Evolution 3.28.1-2 ] I want to sort on 'received', which ( -> sort received ) by, works, but I can't seem to make the first message be at the top, and last message at bottom. Ascending and Descending seem to be based on something other than 'received'. Which are the exact steps that you perform to apply the sorting? andre -- Andre Klapper | ak...@gmx.net https://blogs.gnome.org/aklapper/ ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

How to do? > There are two different columns - "Date" and "Received" - "Date" is the date on the message itself and "Received" is the date it is received. If you are interested in the received date, make sure you add that column so you can see what's happening. Sort order is also affected by threading - grouping by threads takes precedence and the sorting is effectively by the date(s) on the most recently received message in the thread. BTW, you can also change the sorting criteria by clicking in the column header - multiple clicks changes the sort order between ascending and descending. The column it is sorted on is shown by an up or down arrow in the right of the column header. [Evolution] highlight account header when new mail arrived
Hi I changed to Evolution this past weekend because Thunderbird is unable to handle more than one google account in calendar (at least in my hands) No after having transferred everything to Evolution I can't find a way to have the account header in the list of folders highlighted when new mail arrives. You have to actively navigate to the inbox in order to find new mail. With several accounts that becomes a tedious process. Thus if there is such a possibility or even a better solution to show me at first sight which accounts have new mail, I'd like to know it. If such a possibility doesn't exist that would be sad and I would vote for having one. If it's the former, consider setting up a search folder for unread mail: https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/mail-search-folders.html andre -- Andre Klapper | ak...@gmx.net https://blogs.gnome.org/aklapper/ ___ evolution-list mailing list evolution-list@gnome.org To change your list options or unsubscribe, visit ... https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
[Evolution] Authentication failed.
I am running Evolution 3.28.5 on Antergos using Gnome as my desktop and I was wondering about the EWS support... I have added my Exchange account and I have access to my emails and my calendar. But I constantly get errors telling me Authentication failed, which I can just dismiss and Evolution works without any problems again. I also constantly get asked for username and password for the calendar, even though I have checked the "save password" box. I can just click OK and it works fine again.. This is really annoying so I was wondering if this is the way the EWS plugin works or is there something I can do to get rid of this? Or is this caused by our Exchange server at work and there is nothing I can do? Hi, highlighting is done per folder, when the account is expanded and the folder is visible. The folder icon has a "new" emblem. How the emblem looks like depends on your theme, it can be a blue dot, a yellow star, anything else what your theme author though looks good for this purpose. This works the same in Thunderbird, as far as I know. When the account is collapsed it also shows the icon with an emblem when a new mail arrives to it. If you mean that the server Inbox is not updated periodically, only when you enter it, then open account Properties (right-click the account node or through Edit->Preferences->Mail Accounts-> ->Edit. There are those Receiving Options where you can influence these things. You can set "Listen for server change notifications" which helps for messages received into Inbox. There are more options to work with and fine tune the behaviour to your liking. Is it only about the calendar? If yes, could you run the calendar factory with EWS debugging on to see what happens on the wire, please? The command would be: $ EWS_DEBUG=2 /usr/libexec/evolution-calendar-factory -w &>log.txt (actual path can be different in your distribution). Then run evolution and keep it running until the password prompt or the authentication error arises. Having marked the place in the log when the password prompt had been shown would be a plus. The log will contain plain communication between the server and the evolution-ews. It contains all the private information you can think of, thus it's not suitable for sharing in public. Feel free to send it only to me, just make sure you'll identify this thread in the message subject, otherwise I might overlook your message in my spam folder. It's not only the calendar no, the Authention failed is for the email folders and for the calendar, I keep getting an authentication request..
