Use "Plain Text" - the offending words can easily be deleted then. It
has the added benefit of you not sending things as HTML email. :-)

Re: [Evolution] EWS NTLM auth not working

2017-10-22 Thread j2ev

Hello,

in case some other desperate soul crosses over this topic, I still wasn't able
to resolve this issue. It just looks Evolution / libsoup / ntlm_auth is not for
some reason sending NTLMv2, but just NTLMv1. I asked in libsoup mailing list as
well, but it is rather dead or had no luck.

Hi Milan,

thanks for your input. Yes, I do have ntlm_auth binary. But I've already tried
to rename it, even purge winbind from the system, which provides it. The
behavior was still the same. Well, I will try libsoup list then.

Thanks

You already asked this under a different name. Please refrain from
using more than one email account for the Evolution list.

If I select from the : before the box to the . inside it, I am able to remove
only the yellow box:

My reply was a bit flippant, however this is nothing to do with what
people send you, it's what you send out. (There is nothing wrong with
sending plain text emails, and most recipients won't notice any
difference. The only issue is if the email contains rich-text
formatting you need to retain in your replies.)

Actually, a more serious answer. If you highlight text before pressing
reply, only the highlighted text will be included in your reply. So
highlight everything except the yellow box and it should be removed.

Almost certainly not. But WYSIWYG editing HTML is not a trivial task
and it's difficult to unravel multi-level divs in the message,
especially in an email composer! It would be easier if there was some
form of HTML source editing option, but there isn't, and sometimes it
gets things wrong. It is probably a bug and you might like to think
about filing a bugzilla report about it.

If you need more accomplished HTML editing, then you could always use
an external editor. (When composing a message do File -> Compose in
external editor. This needs the external editor plugin to be installed
and configured.)

So was mine, apologies. I known I can reformat my replies into plain text and
do so from time to time. This has the unfortunate side effect of confusing some
recipients so I appreciate I can answer in HTML too.

Yes I have noticed this too, just tried this and it worked too :)
Although for long mails this is somewhat suboptimal.

[Evolution] Reply prefix: don't want the localized one

2017-10-22 Thread Francesco Porro
Hello list,

When I hit the "reply" button, I get "Risposta: " (i'm italian) in the
subject line before the actual subject instead of the more canonical
"Re: ". Is there a way to disable the localization of the replay prefix
in the subject?

Until version 3.24 the default was the classic "Re: " prefix, but now
in 3.26 there is the localized word. It doesn't make sense, since many
mail clients don't aggregate mails correctly with a prefix different
than the default "Re: " in replies (ie. GMail, but many others too). So
imo there should be a preference to change this behavior.

Moreover, I've already looked for this in the dconf-editor but din't
find any useful setting.

Thanks in advance.

Hi All:

I am on the XFCE4 desktop and and managed to installed the gnome-control-center

company'sgmail.
Everything works except access to contacts which for company email is the
company address book.I'm getting this error:Unable to open address book
“Contacts”This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an
incorrect URI was entered, or the server is unreachable.
Detailed error message: Unable to connect to “Contacts”: Backend factory for
source “1480345234.2904.0@jserinki7” and extension “Address Book” cannot be
found.

jserinki7 is the name of my host.
GOA is configured to access contacts.
Any tips on how to troubleshoot?
Cheers,john
