[Evolution] evolution template

2010-01-29 Thread Michael Hoffman
I know there is a way to right click on a received message and apply a
template. However, is there a way to create a new message from a
template (other than going to the template and clicking edit as new).

If there isn't a way can this possible be made a feature for a release?

[Evolution] Email addresses in Evolution

2010-01-29 Thread Dianne Reuby
Most of my emails are to people in my address book, so I type their name
and click the email address I want.

Some names show as Joe Bloggs , some as Joe Bloggs,
and some as joe.bloggs.com

I can't work out what I do differently when creating my contact in the
address book to cause the different formats. Can someone explain this
please?

Thanks,
Dianne

Really? I'm not even sure what that means.

The place to ask for enhancements is
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Evolution where it's
more likely the devels will see it (not all of them read this list).

Re: [Evolution] Email addresses in Evolution

2010-01-29 Thread Michael Hoffman
In evolution you can create message templates

create new message and save as template (subject becomes template name)
This works fine.

When responding to a message you can right click on the message. This will
bring up a context menu.
In that menu there is a templates item
>From the templates you can then select your template created from the steps
>above.

Currently the only way I can find to create a "new" message from a template is
to go to the templates folder and right click on the template
and select "edit as new"

This works great no problems.

What I'm trying to find out is if it is possible to create a new message and
right click on the body and apply a template.

Does this make my issue clearer?

I don't see any such menu but then I don't actually have any templates
so maybe that's it.

PS It's conventional to quote the part of the message you are replying
to, otherwise things rapidly become confusing.

What's your problem with going to your template folder, choose the
template you want to create a new message from and either double-click
it or use "right-click edit as new"? Don't see any problems with that!

Re: [Evolution] evolution template

2010-01-29 Thread Michael Hoffman
Thomas,
I realize this method works. However, to be honest this method is quite
inefficient and slow. I perform many tasks through by issuing a
"mailto:"; command to the alt-f2 run screen. this pops up just a new
message and not the thick evolution mail main screen. So if I had a
right click in the message body for template i could so everything
without having to bring up the thick evolution client go to templates
right click on edit as new. This doesn't seem like that difficult of a
request as the functionality is already there for responding to
messages. Can this be added as a feature and added to the new message
body context menu as well?

Thanks,

[Evolution] Can't forward some messages with attachments or drag/drop them

2010-01-29 Thread Chris
Mandriva 2010, Evo 2.28.2, Gnome 2.28. When trying to forward some
messages with attachments the text of the forwarded message is there
however the attachment is not nor can I drag/drop these attachments to
the new post. Can someone enlighten me on what to do or is this a known
bug? I have noticed that the bug with sending large pgp signed messages
has been fixed, good job.
