Cool.

IMHO , this seems to be a symbol table namespace pollution. I faced this
in some of the binaries that we were building. But not confirmed.

Not sure whether fedora builds are facing this. Any idea?

Hi Jjohnny,
In the version now used in Fedora rawhide,
evolution-mapi-0.26.1-1 there is a
big improvement in the last month- it actually works for me now. It
still downloads

masses of stuff I don't want, but it show me email while it is doing it...
Secondly, I do not have any problem using the name, rather than the
IP, of my server.

[Evolution] Importing settings

2009-04-22 Thread John Aldrich
I looked in the FAQ, but I didn't see the answer there... is there any way
to import my KMail configuration into Evolution? I see where I can import
individual mailbox files, but I'd like to import my KMail configs, including
filters, etc as I have a LOT of filters to move mail into folders, etc.

Also, if possible, I'd like to do a "bulk" import of all my folders so I
don't have to recreate them one at a time when I'm importing messages into
Evolution.

I'm looking at switching to Evolution as I had some issues this morning
with KMail acting up, and Evolution was working. Also, it appears Evolution
has improved since I last looked at it (around RedHat 6 or 7. )

[Evolution] Send/Receive greyed out

2009-04-22 Thread Art Alexion
I have a user with Evolution on a laptop, not currently in the office.
She is reasonably tech-savvy, but not familiar with the command line or
file system data structures.

She is using the evolution-exchange backend on Ubuntu Hardy (I don't
have a hardy installation here so that I can check out the evo version.)

It is not retrieving mail and the Send/Receive button is greyed. Any
ideas I could send to her so that she gets it working this week while
away?

Is the icon at the bottom left showing that it is disconnected from the
network? Evo's sense of network presence is through NetworkManager -
and sometimes that doesn't correctly relay the truth. Try clicking on
the connection icon or File -> Work Offline.

[Evolution] Follow weblinks in the 'background'

2009-04-22 Thread Dan Popovic
Hello,

is there a way to let evolution follow weblinks in the background
(so, if I click it on the link, it will be opened in the default browser,
but the browser does not pop up)?

Probably easy but I cannot find :-(

That's more of a browser function than an evo one

I'm running Firefox on desktop 3 and Evolution on desktop 2 (in Gnome)
and had the same annoyance. The solution was (in Firefox) to go to
about:config and find this key:

browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground

Change to TRUE.

Now I can click on a link in Evolution on desk 2 and it (silently) opens
in a new tab in Firefox on desk 3. Doubtless other browsers have a
something similar. I don't know how to avoid having FF pop up over evo
if FF is not running; I always have an instance running on its dedicated
desktop.

[Evolution] MAPI Issues

2009-04-22 Thread James Trickel
I hope someone could help here.
Here is my setup
Ubuntu 9.04 RC
evolution-mapi v. 0.26.0.1-0ubuntu2
Exchange 2007 Server

Setup evolution with the following options:
Server: IP Address
Username: userid
Domain: Company domain

I can check and read emails, view calendar, and view contacts(albeit
it's extremely slow).
But, when sending emails to users on the exchange server, the email
address seems to be overwritten by either evolution or the exchange
server.

[first.lastna...@[domain].com
becomes
[userid] ..[user...@[domain].com>

Yet if I send outside of my domain.
james7...@gmail.com
This works...

Anyone have any ideas on what I might need to change in my
configuration or why this is happening?

TIA,
-James

The short answer is no. You can't even reliably import filters from one
instance of Evo to another (unless you massage the XML files).

Are there folders local or remote? You don't say. If they're on an IMAP
server you just need to configure Evo to point at the server and you're
done. If they're local POP folders it's probably still easier to copy
them to an IMAP server and back again.

That's what it already does here (KDE, Fedora 10).

Ahh... thanks. I'm not sure how easy it'll be to copy them up to an IMAP
server... then again who knows. There's a LOT of folders with a LOT of mail
in them... I've somewhat got KMail working again (had to log out and back
in and I'm on a different window manager, so I don't know if it was the log
out and back in or the window manager...)

If at all possible please don't reply to mailing list digests. It screws
up the threading. If you absolutely *must* do it, at least change the
Subject so it matches what you're replying to.
