[Evolution] Evolution junk still broken!

2009-01-27 Thread William John Murray

  Hello guys,
I posted a few days ago that my junk vfolder was gone but
emails were disappearing into junk.

That look like a good idea, so I did. All was well for a week - but last night
my emails started vanishing again. These plugins are definitely disabled on the
two instances of evolution I use. But mail is vanishing. Thunderbird still
shows it as there. I have no idea what is going on.
  So:
*) Does 'junk' get marked on the server in any way? I thought it was client
only.
*) If I completely remove all of evolution from my account (how?) and
restart it
will I get my junk vfolder back?

   Thank you,
  Bill

[Evolution] IMAP IDLE extension

2009-01-27 Thread Patrick O'Callaghan
The IMAP IDLE extension allows conforming servers (e.g. Cyrus,
Gmail, ...) to notify clients of new mail, without the latter having to
poll them. It's a Good Thing (tm).

It seems that support for the IDLE extension was planned for Evo 2.24
but didn't make it. It's now on the roadmap for 2.26. Does anyone know
if it's really going to happen this time?

Patrick,

There is a hacked patch on camel-lite [the one that tinymail uses] for
imap/idle extension. Its a matter of porting it to upstream version.

Yes, the roadmap comment says as much, but it said exactly the same
thing on the 2.24 roadmap, which is why I wondered if there was anything
more concrete.

Thanks all the same.
