I will checkout and try to patch the current cvs version. Right now i just updated myself on the developer information to be able to keep in line with coding-style etc. I will probably go for a -MM-DD HH:MM format as suggested by David Oxland (I will also look up display in Thunderbird and look up the mentioned ISO-Standard). @David Oxland: If you can name the standard, this would be a great help. Tried that a minute ago (Evo 2.8.2 from openSUSE 10.2). Created a new SMTP account and send a mail, choosing the new account as origin in the composer window. It seems that the GroupWise server supports appending mails only to the Mailbox folder. So you may have to copy it to MAILBOX and have some filters to move the mails to desired folders. But the best option will be to set up Server-side rules to govern these and continue using Evoltuion's GroupWise to send mails, as it has some advantages over SMTP/Sendmail like message-tracking, priority etc. > > Heiko > > PS: Is there anything Evolution can do to fix this dumb behaviour of GW, or > can > it only be solved in GW itself? > > -- Sankar ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Because I use Evolution on my personal laptop, which doubles as my work machine, I made sure to use my office email address in the appropriate fields under the "Identity" tab. After I did all that, I got a folder tree for office email in Evolution's email-folder pane. And I can click-and-drag the office email into folders I have under On This Computer, where I archive them. Pete -- Peter N. I can´t even imagine how many complex rules I´d need to organize my mails correctly. And since they would still be rather imperfect I´d need to check the sent-mail folder again and again if something lept through. Also, more complex rules mean that it´s more likely that mails get send to the wrong folder and are therefore lost (unless I do time consuming searches). I´ll try to use the GW account as IMAP account and forget about the "advanced stuff" since that´s something I´d use only once in a while while on the other hand I constantly need to have an overview what happens on certain topics, with certain communication partners etc. Hope that works together with still using GW for contacts, calender and the like. In KDE Kontact that´s how it works right now, but the GW intergration for the other features (calendar etc.) is less mature than in Evo. I must say that I´m very much disappointed with GroupWise here. Heiko ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Alternatively (and more reliably IMHO), set up virtual folders for your most common correspondents, defining the search criteria as From, To or CC. This works as far as it goes, but of course doesn't scale as easily as the Kmail way since there's more work involved in setting it up for each correspondent. poc ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

[Evolution] More "Exchange" (Receipts)
Hello everyone, I'm doing some tests with the "return receipt' feature and today I used MS Outlook to test this feature. It turns out that Microsoft Outlook also has the option to prompt you what you want to do when someone requests a receipt. When you click "don't send" it won't send it. Evolution also prompts you but it will send the receipt whatever your option is (of course, using the connector). Is this a known bug? Is it already fixed in the newest version? Thanks!
