[Evolution] InBox mail does not show

2006-04-13 Thread laurie

Hi!

I like Evolution on my Debian Ubuntu desktop, but it only shows the
contents of some of the mail folders. I have been forced to switch to
Thunderbird to read mail (and I am not happy with its Contacts management).

Using Evolution:-
The On This Computer Inbox shows a welcoming email from The Evolution
Team, and no other emails.

The On This Computer Sent folder shows the emails I have sent.

Using Thunderbird I can read the mails in all of about 20 folders.

A similar difficulty occurred a few months ago on another machine on the
same network, and that too has been changed from using Evolution to
using Thunderbird; any hints will benefit two users :-)

Thanks
Laurie

[Evolution] IMAP "Outbox" feature

2006-04-13 Thread Jerome Warnier
I was wondering if any version of Evolution was able to use the "Outbox"
feature of IMAP, ie the feature in which instead of sending using SMTP,
you send mails through IMAP in a special folder, where the IMAP server
gets it right away and feeds it to his local MTA.
At least Courier IMAP permits this.

If Evolution supports this, where can I configure it?
If not, is it planned?

Regards, and thanks to all the contributors to Evolution, the best
graphical MUA/GroupWare ever!

Evo has Message->Post New Message to Folder, which I frequently use to
leave notes for myself without cluttering up my Sent folder. Maybe it
will do what you want if your IMAP server supports this.

Did you explicitly point Thunderbird at the local Evo Inbox? If not,
they are two different beasts so mail received in one will not be
visible to the other. This is not the case with IMAP folders of course.

Otherwise, two things to try:

1) View->Show Hidden Messages (maybe also deselect Hide Deleted
Messages)
2) Clear the Search box at the top of the message pane. On Evo 2.6 the
search box is distinctively coloured when there's something in it, but
in earlier versions it's not so obvious.

It could, but I'm looking to the same feature, except it should be the
default when sending mail.

Out of curiosity: what is the point of this feature?

[Evolution] Lost Summary of Tasks in Calendar view

2006-04-13 Thread Arthur Smith
Hi everyone,

I'm not sure how I did it, but I accidentally dragged the "Summary"
column off the task list in calendar view. I don't know where I dragged
it to, and I don't know how to get it back :P

Suggestions?

TIA,

Right click on the column header, and choose "Add a column", then you
can drag it back.
