[Evolution] How to add an addressbook with a LDAP server

2005-10-09 Thread Gerrit Kruijer
Hi,
i want to add my addressbook that's on a LDAP server. It does work with
thunderbird so i am clearly doing something wrong in Evolution.

Besides the server name ldap.fusemail.net i must fill in a Base/Search
DN zo i have chosen for authentication for Using distinguished name (DN)
and in the following line the contents that they have given to me.

When i search an address i'll get the following message : This either
means you have entered a incorrect URL or the LDAP server isn.t
reachable.

Any idea's what i am doing wrong?

Regards,
Gerrit

This is fixed now. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317897
Updating your eds source would help to get rid of this.

Thanks,

In Evolution 2.4, There is a delete button to delete your signatures.
You can also edit your signatures. I guess it is there from 2.2 itself.

I dont understand what you mean by "ALL REFERENCES TO THEM, AND THEM AS
WELL" Can you elaborate this? If you want to edit the mails that you
have already sent with the signature, it is not possible, since mails
are immutable.

I thought earlier you said that the ; was just used for the password
key. Why on earth would a password key be being used for anything other
than a password key?

up. I think it is to do with the ";" which seems to be added
whenever I try to look at a calender now. I created a new user
account, configured evo 2.4.1, and it works pretty well (Though
it failed to invite a conference room to a meeting for me - just

'clean out' my normal account and start again.

How do I do this, including gconf, please?

Doing these would help:

~$ rm -rf .evolution

Remove the key /apps/evolution in gconf-editor
or
~$ rm -rf .gconf/apps/evolution
and restart gconfd.

Remember you will *lose* all your account (not just exchange account)
data. Evolution will start off by asking for new account.

Thanks,
Arunprakash.

  Thanks Notzed and Arunprakash,
In this case I have copied the personal data to the
dummy account, and can copy it back again, so nothing will be lost. This
is clearly a tricky area, and I do appreciate all your work - even if
sometime chasing the latest version causes a problem,

   Bill

Re: [Evolution] Inbox doesn't automatically update....

2005-10-09 Thread Christian Seberino
Even if I stay in the Inbox always, I don't see *new* emails unless
I quickly leave the Inbox and enter it again.

The visual display of Inbox is not *refreshed* automatically unless
I leave and enter Inbox again.
