回复: [ESL Podcast] A video of Steve Jobs on the Rules of Success
Hi Pln and all, well, this link brings me to another video, which is a commencement speech at Stanford given by Steve Jobs. and the most impressive words of this speech are "you've got to find what you love." so maybe there are a number of factors that will make us successful, but I think the most one is personal preferences ,and based on it,we have the motive force to go forward. Though the road ahead will be uneven, and there will be setbacks and false starts,we'll keep going and writing down the drama of life. Perhaps I am not as lucky as Jobs who can find what he loved to do early in life, but I will keep looking with all matters of my heart. And I think, something what I have learned may be not important for practical application in life, but they will be connected in the future. It is like stringing the pearls together, just using time as the string.have a good timeVera --- 11年12月12日,周一, pln471 写道: 发件人: pln471 主题: [ESL Podcast] A video of Steve Jobs on the Rules of Success 收件人: "ESL Podcast Study Group" 日期: 2011年12月12日,周一,上午6:14 Dear all, When the ex-C.E.O. of Apple passed away,I saw on facebook a post saying there were 3 apples in the world ; one was eaten by Adam in the bibile, the second hit Issac Newton on his head and the third was half eaten by Steve Jobs. His legacy will last for so many more decades and here is a video of him talking about the rules of success. I would like you all to take a look and listen to it as many times as you can, then tell me what are the rules of success according to him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&hl=en&v=KuNQgln6TL0&gl=US Thanks and good night ! oppps. I made a mistake. I should say "how to keep yourself motivated" instead of "who". Re: [ESL Podcast] Question Of the Week : What made this group so special that you are still around ? ;-)
Hi sjunior, How are you doing? It's a really good question. I've been asking myself this question for about a year now. :D And now I've got a friend have the same problem. He do not know where to start. Well, I can say that I partly have found my way. Sign up for sites that offers free email lessons or news letters, be a member of any forum that interests you and leave a comment and wait for replies, use YouTube videos, songs with lyrics, chat rooms, Fb groups for learning English, follow learning English sites on Twitter, start your own blog and write down what you've learned, ... should I continue? ;) There more and more that you can do. But now I am asking myself, does that work? o.O I can't do all those activities at once, and so do you. But that's what I've doing lately. :( when you try so hard, you get lost again. But you know what? The question is who to keep yourself motivated while you can't find any one who support you? :( Or even join you in your long journey. Maybe it just me. ;) I am not good in making friends or maybe in choosing them. However, sjunior, don't let anyone put you down and don't let yourself down either. Even if it looks so complicated sometimes, we still have to try and we should keep trying and trying till we find our way. Best regards, Mona. Hi All, What I feel I need is a group to study or just to talk. But it's hard to find people with the same interests, time zone and the same free time. For instance, I have some time and tranquility just on weekends. Thank you. Pablo On 12 dic, 17:32, Cookie Moni wrote: > Hi sjunior, > > How are you doing? It's a really good question.
