[Dx-packages] [Bug 1212337] Re: accounts-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in dbus_connection_send()
I have the same problem on 5 different mashines. Every day, sometimes a few times during one login session(every few hours). 12.04+GNOMEclassic ** Attachment added: "Zrzut ekranu z 2013-12-22 14:34:38.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/accountsservice/+bug/1212337/+attachment/3938160/+files/Zrzut%20ekranu%20z%202013-12-22%2014%3A34%3A38.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to accountsservice in Ubuntu. There appeared some problems with 'accountsservice' -- a D-Bus interface for user account query and manipulation, that honestly have occurred day-to-day. ### PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A few weeks ago after login as a normal user, 'accountsservice' (used for querying and manipulating user account informations) crashed. On the beginning it was a random incident. After a few days, 'accountsservice' crashed each time after every user logs on. I think, that's all what I can write, to try to describe this issue, because everything seems to be okay -- no system freezing or slowdowns, no problems after packages update/upgrade etc. ### DETAILED INFORMATIONS: == * ProblemType: Crash * Uname: Linux 3.2.0-51-generic-pae i686 * Architecture: i386 * DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 (Xubuntu 12.04 variant) * Package: accountsservice 0.6.15-2ubuntu9.6 * ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu17.4 * NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia * Segfault happened at: 0xb76bb7c3: mov0x10(%eax),%eax * Executable Path (ProcCmdline): /usr/lib/accountsservice/accounts-daemon Also '/var/log/apport.log' file contain some informations about this issue. Everything is in a attached log file. ,-[ $ lsb_release -rd ] | Description:Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS | Release:12.04 `- ### WHAT HAVE HAD AN IMPACT ON THIS ISSUE? == I have no ideas, why it started to happen. Only one thing, which I've done for a few weeks before problems with 'accountsservice' was 'conky-all' install. Nothing more, nothing less -- no serious administrative tasks were performed (except e.g. kernel or programs updates via APT utility or UpdateManager, but it seems to be obvious). ### APPENDIX: = I would like to notice, that this issue still occurs, after next point Xubuntu update -- from 12.04.2 to 12.04.3 version. So for now, kernel version is; 3.2.0-55-generic-pae. Anything related with this bug, when all of this started to happen, remains unchanged. One more, important, thing to mention is that - in my case - 'accountsservices' crashed even after a fresh Xubuntu 12.04 install. For more info, please see comment #12. Best regards. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1589703] Re: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive
I just noticed that short after unlocking the screen, if the "window" that You see in the picture is set as the very first thing You see, the alarm clock shows itself as active (the switch is green) and after a few seconds it switches itself automatically to grey-turned off position. So the phone really "thinks" for a few seconds that the alarm clock is active. On my phone it worked this way: 1. Turn alarm clock off. 2. Set the screen that you see in an attachment as visible. 3.Wait untill the screen locks itself. 4.Unlock the screen 5.For a few seconds after unlocking You're gonna see that the alarm is active (green switch) then after a few seconds the switch turnes automatically to grey (alarm off) without touching the screen. ** Attachment added: "146809408-1974747271.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1589703/+attachment/4698047/+files/146809408-1974747271.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1589703] Re: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive
What I noticed in two cases (valid also for a bug#1560373) is that the notification area doesn't update its status. It shows the alarm clock icon or network icon with no connection only as long as we do not drop notification area down. Always when I pull it down, the network icon updates and false alarm clock disappears. Seems like a whole notification area falls asleep and takes its status from an unknown point in time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1589703] Re: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive
I do not know if it may help: yesterday I set an alarm clock to check the bug on OTA13. In the alarm list if we have an active alarm set, we can read how much time left till the alarm rings. Yesterday right after it rang I wanted to set it one more time: as I opened the app I could see an information "one minute ago" for a past alarm. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1005459] Re: Polish date translation
I use Mate, not Unity so I don't see the problem but it is definitely smaller than in the photo. have You ever seen a paper calendar? So that's the lower case: invalid. I can only agree to the genitive. Upper case as: Sobota, ..2015 In such cases "Sobota" is treated as the first word of a sentence though there is no colon at the end. I do not know if there were some changes in the Polish language but as I learned at school I can only agree to the genitive. More translation rules can be found in the links on our page: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-pl I'll try to change the genitive asap. Ps. If You take a Polish paper calender, the days are all written with capital letters. It always used to be this way. Did I miss anything? I live in Germany now so I can be not fully up to date:-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1005459] Re: Polish date translation
:-) Just a simple example from one of Your links (photo) :-) And further: time.is is not a dictionary and the date format view loks a bit againts rules from the lukaszrokicki link :-) In rules You write about it is said that the days are not written with a capital letter unlike in German or Englisch. Truth. But not if the name of a day is put as a first one or even worse alone. The buttons in our systems like Skip, Delete, Cancel, OK as well as sinlgle menu words: Programs, Places, System (GNOME2) and their undermenu are written with a capital letter. I just clicked my Mate clock on the upper panel. I see the days in calender are not capitalized. They should be! These are standalone words! They are not part of any senstence! Even wikipedia shows You that in your own link and actually it is the best example. Just compare the difference between "Języki słowniańskie" (Monday till Sunday are listed after a colon- the sentence stays open-no capitalization) and "Języki germańskie" where the Monday till Sunday are listed after a sentence with a dot. The problem is that Polish people read that we write "Monday" uncapitalized forgetting the rule about standalone words so common for a electronic units. Wikipedia - my school and an answer for Your wiktionary !!! https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stycze%C5%84 !!! https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%9Aroda https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazwa https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miesi%C4%85c That's what I mean. So all in all, we write days and moths uncapitalized in the middle of a sentence and capitalized as standalone (attachment).
