  Test Case:
  - log into an unity session
  - copy a not too small file (so you have time to interact with the copy
dialog)
  - minimize the copy dialog
  - right click on the corresponding unity-launcher's icon, and pick "show copy
dialog"
-> the dialog should be displayed

  Regression testing:
Check that there is no focus issue with that dialog and the launcher

  --

While copying a large (8 gig) file across an SMB network, I minimized
it. The right click on the Nautilus Unity bar showed a "Show copy
dialog" item. Clicking on that item did nothing. The only way to get
the dialog back up was to open one of the two minimized Nautilus
windows and then minimize the one on top. After that minimize, then
the copy dialog was displayed on top of the other Nautilus window. I
couldn't find any way to get the copy dialog back on screen without
clicking around somewhat aimlessly displaying and minimizing Nautilus
windows until it appeared. The "Show copy dialog" right-click menu
  appeared to have no affect.

Bug description:
I installed Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 Beta 2. I set the system locale to
Korean language, which worked okay. When I tried to set regional
format (date, time, currency, number, metric, etc.), however, the
options are only limited to 5 regions: US, UK, Canada, Australia, New
Zealand. I do live in the US, but I want to set the regional format in
Korean because that goes with the system language. I currently set the
regional format to that of Canada because I am not familiar with US
system of yards, feet and pounds. As you can see in the attached
screenshot, the date format shown on the middle of the task bar is a
mixture of English and Korean (Frankenstein-ish).

As I browsed through the bug report launchpad site, I found this bug
has a long history which dates back to Ubuntu version 9.04. I have
installed Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 LTS on my other computer and it does not
have the same bug. I guess it has something to do with the newly
  introduced "systemd"?

I would very much like to see this bug is fixed ASAP (at least before
the release of 15.04 proper version). I love GNOME interface, but this
  bug annoys me. Regards.

Bug description:
tl;dr; Unity doesn't emit the ActiveChanged signal when the screen is
  locked/unlocked

  Long version:

unity-settings-daemon's automount plugin has code to detect whether
the screen is locked or not before automatically mounting a volume.
This prevents someone from inserting a USB thumb drive when the screen
is locked and exploiting a possible nautilus thumbnailer
vulnerability. (See bug #714958 for original implementation details.)

In Ubuntu 14.04, this code no longer works. Inserting a USB thumb
drive while the screen is locked results in a Nautilus window opening
underneath the lock screen, and the contents of the USB thumb drive
  being read.

Since the screen lock got switched to Unity in Ubuntu 14.04, Unity no
longer emits the org.gnome.ScreenSaver ActiveChanged signal when the
  screen gets locked or unlocked.

  To test:

  1- in terminal, type:
  dbus-monitor

We be useful a "remember" on the UI to avoid show the dialog always.
And we will need a way to clear the "remember" option if the user want to
choose a new app.

2015-07-01 Thread Bill Filler
To be clear, we need design input on what to display to the user when
multiple apps are registered for the same url scheme (i.e. mailto:).
There should be a prompt of some sort asking user to pick which app to
use and whether to prompt every time or remember the choice.

Looking through this and with more discussion in IRC it seems that the
core issue here isn't that the definition directory isn't there, it is
that the utility can't create the database. This seems like an actual
error, as you can't update a DB that you can't write :-)

I'd argue that remember is a much larger task and should perhaps be
split out. We could do the dialog, which would solve a bunch of user
problems without doing remember, which will be a whole new settings
interaction.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1447224] Re: Regression: Unable to select audio or subtitle tracks

2015-07-01 Thread Chris J Arges
Hello Peter, or anyone else affected,

Accepted totem into vivid-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/3.14.3-0ubuntu0.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

  [ Development fix ]

  Identical & already uploaded.

  [ Regression potential ]

Due to the nature of this change, you won't get the app menu when full

Bug description:
  [ Description ]

Under Unity, the menu items "Language" and "Subtitles" do not show
available languages and subtitles that can be selected.

  [ Fix ]

Port to GMenu, which can correctly show the menu items.

NOTE that this removes the menu from full screen under Unity.

  [ QA ]

Test under both Unity and GNOME shell (and optionally other DEs) that
you can load a video (e.g.

http://trailers.divx.com/divx_prod/divx_plus_hd_showcase/Sintel_DivXPlus_6500kbps.mkv
[large - 819M]) with subtitles and languages and select between them.

  [ Development fix ]

  Identical & already uploaded.

  [ Regression potential ]

Due to the nature of this change, you won't get the app menu when full
screened under Unity any more - langs and subtitles can only be
selected from the regular menu which is visible when not in full
  screen.

No other regressions are expected, so if you find any please report in
  this bug.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1430059] Re: LyX menu is not updated by indicator-appmenu in mode unity-all-menus

2015-07-01 Thread Treviño
The fact is that the bug is not in lyx, but in indicator-appmenu.

If you want, you can manually install the deb from wily (available at
http://packages.ubuntu.com/wily/indicator-appmenu) in vivid.
It should work flawlessly.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1439236] Re: When minimizing window, or for urgent events, the icon from the hidden Launcher doesn't reveal

2015-07-01 Thread motang
So it started working (I noticed it yesterday evening) on my install, I
have Ubuntu 15.10 installed on a Dell notebook, when I minimize apps
with launcher hidden the icon pops out. But I also have Ubuntu 15.10
installed on my desktop in Virtualbox and did a live session with a
daily build where it doesn't work. Just wanted to pass this on.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1470531] Re: update-directory errors out on missing directory

2015-07-01 Thread Ted Gould
I guess my thought is that the hook, a user hook, should expect the user
directory to be writable or it should throw an error. I think probably a
better solution is that no click user hook should be run on /root. I'd
be surprised if the next one run doesn't throw an error as well if we
fixed this one.
