Thank you both, I tried several alternatives and finally kept eog (Eye of Gnome). It requires only 4 additional packages to meet it's dependencies. Just as Ludovic pointed out, switching to elogind solves the problem. But, the amount of packages to install in order to use just one KDE app is humongous: root@vaio:/home/emi# apt-get install -s elogind gwenview Reading package lists...
