django-admin.py startproject doesn't work

2012-02-12 Thread raddy
I have windows7 OS and have installed Python27 and Django1.3.1
I have also set the path in the environment variables to: C:
\Python27\;C:\Python27\python.exe;C:\Python27\Scripts;C:\Python27\Lib
\site-packages\django\bin

Commands like python and import django works well but
when i try creating a new project I get the following error:

C:\Python27\Django-1.3.1>django-admin.py startproject mysite
'django-admin.py' is not recognized as an internal or external
command,
operable program or batch file.

C:\Python27\Django-1.3.1>

Please help!!!

I'm done with the tutorials (1,2,3); have been working on mysite
project. everything worked perfectly then.

but now i wish to create a new project

i tried by using:
django-admin.py startproject student

but a notepad (django-admin)opens saying

#!C:\Python27\python.exe
from django.core import management

if __name__ == "__main__":
management.execute_from_command_line()
