Re: object-type errors - update! blank image

2013-01-10 Thread Marchand Eric

Hi,
I think that you should give the same name into your sheet and your
shapes, for example :

http://www.daa.com.au/~james/dia-shape-ns";
xmlns:svg="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg";>

  shape - 1a
  1a.png

xlink:href="file:///C:/Users/Kyteroo/Desktop/Alchemy/Individual%20Items/Alchemy%20Items/Alchemy%20Items/shape/1a.png"/>

is named "shape - 1a"

and in your sheet there is not shape named "shape - 1a"
I see :

  cucurbita

You can edit all your shapes and modify their names.

And I think that you should not put absolutes links for your images :
C:/Users/Kyteroo/Desktop/Alchemy/Individual%20Items/Alchemy%20Items/Alchemy%20Items/shape/1a.png

but a relative one :
1a.png

Kind Regards

Eric

PS : Sorry for my poor english

I've been using dia since very early versions and IMO it's alive and
well. We use it production every day and we are *very* happy that it's
not a feature-creep-style project and in fact it has been very
positive for us that it changes slowly. All good software should be
like that: simple, practical and slowly changing if it works well. We
use it on Linux and Mac every day.

Sorry Mike but that's wrong.
If you double click the aggregation symbol you can change it to a
composition. In UML it's the same symbol just filled.

Hahaha. Yeah, I have an unfair advantage because I've been using DIA's
UML set for far too many years now ;-)

We dome some really magical stuff I would like to publish one day.
Well in fact we have, for example I made some contribs to dia2code in
the SQL DDL generation but we really have to publish this very
interesting end-to-end methodology we have with DIA. From use-case to
actual model and documentation in Docbook tied directly with the code.
Really neat. 10x better than any attempts to do the same with Rational
;-)

But should it be
  1a.png

Then, would I put the description between the connections tags like this?

Vessel with Tubes

If not, then how do I get the descriptions to show up when someone mouses
over the icon?

2) If I wanted the xlink:href to be relative, then would I
use xlink:href="1a.png"/> ?

3) What code would I use to make the image fillable by the user's colour
choice? I'm using imageswould it even work? I don't know what to call
it, because its not a "polygon, rectangle, etc.". Its fine if it doesn't
work. I'm not so sure it would be an easy fix. I did use transparent
images, but my save values might be a bit off.

Thanks!

Answer: Because I am using Images, I wouldn't use connections. I reread
this page, having not understood it before. Now, I understand it. lol

Lastly:
Question: Do I save the Shape file as ".shape" or as ".xml" or what? Thanks!

The original error I had, was NOT creating a Shape file. What I had only
created was the .sheet file. Oops!
Many thanks! (In advance)
